I am going to WDW on my honeymoon in Aug. I am trying to make it a very enjoyable trip. I haven't been to WDW in a few years and my fiance has never been. Any suggestions would be great. I was also hoping for one really romantic dinner. I am very thankful for all help!

My most romantic dinner on my honeymoon, has to be hands down, the castle (Cinderellas Royal Table). Maybe its just because i'm a princess at heart, maybe it was the table by the window, that we sat and watched the fireworks from. Maybe it was the fact i wore a dress to dinner and didn't feel out of place at all. But really i think it was the handsome prince across the table from me, so really every dinner was special in its own way.
Enjoy your honeymoon, we certainly did. (Note, if you like wine with dinner, or other alcoholic drinks, the magic kingdom is a DRY kingdom).

We also did the rose and crown at epcot and sat on the patio and watch illuminations there, that was slightly more 'magical' then the castle because we walked up and asked if they had anything available, they were going to seat us inside but the table wasn't ready yet. :)

Other dinners that rate high on romance for our honeymoon:
Eating standing up in the pouring rain at Blizard Beach because that was the one thing my husband really wanted to do (a water park, not waiting out the rain).
The first night at Whisper Canyon at WL, they seated us right next to the fireplace.

I also enjoyed (but my husband not so much) breakfast with the princesses, but the special surprise treat of doing that is walking thru the parks all by yourselves when they are completely empty. I got some great pics and found it very romantic. Likewise if you stay for an enight (or just the bitter end anynight) walking thru magic kingdom and watching the goodnight kiss is truely magical. (especially if you just happened to get a picture with both minnie and mickie, which was the only char picture my dh would be in with me (because it was late, and we weren't depriving any childern of the chance))

There are so many things that make this a romantic place!! I'll list a few of our favorites:

Doing an Illuminations Cruise....don't know what the price is now but we packed a cooler with bubbly, strawberries and cheese, etc. and sat back and enjoyed the ride. They also have the Breathless Yacht at the Y/BC or for MK fireworks the GF yachts. Again, none of this is cheap..mind..but you will only have ONE honeymoon.

Disney has the largest private fleet in the world so anytime you can take a small boat, do so. We have had truly romantic moments on boats going from WL to MK or from POR to DTD. Especially in the evening, puttering across a lake or down a river is really special...even if you are with a bunch of people. These vessels are not to be confused with the mass transit types in Epcot or the ones that take you from parking to the MK.

Love the California Grill timed to watch the fireworks. Especially if the fireworks are late, there shouldn't be too many children there. Even if you go up for a drink and an appetizer...it is worth the trip. Others, I have read, love to watch the EP and fireworks from the beach at the Poly...we'll have to try that! I might even order dinner a picnic from a restaurant and eat it at the beach with candles and everything.....yep...I'm going to do that next trip!! Those hammocks sound awfully cool after a long day at the parks.

Have a late, late lunch at Chefs de France in Epcot. Ask for a table in the atrium and, if you are really lucky, you may be alone. We have done this twice and its almost like we are in Paris, watching people stroll along the street. We order a bottle of wine or champagne with lunch and sit for a few hours enjoying each other, the view and the coolness of being inside for a while. This gives us the added energy we need to finish out the day.

Have to agree with Cindy's breakfast early in the AM. There is something truly magical about the empty park...plus the you get a great breakfast from a unique MK point of view.

You don't mention where you are staying but splurge and stay on property if at all possible. It really does make a difference when you are in the middle of the magic. More than likely it will be hot in August, however, it usually rains every day around 2-3 pm. We would do things in the AM, have lunch and then return to the room to rest. After our rest, we'd go back in the evening to do more parking. Cool, refreshed...we would be ready to stay until park closing and then some!

Here's some other little tips:
Tell EVERYONE it is your honeymoon! It just helps to keep that 'special day' feeling going a little longer...plus you never know who will shower you with a little pixie dust!

I think it is so cool when newlyweds have the mickey and minnie wedding ears. Doubt I could have gotten my DH to wear them but I sure would have tried!

Buy the book Disney World without Children by the Perlmutters. This is the one book I've found that truly addresses the parks from an adult point of view. They give some great tips on romantic places and things to do and see.

Bring perfumed candles and order flowers.....even the least expensive room can be made to be romantic! Little touches matter, at Disney, and at home! I usually buy flowers (and rose petals) during our grocery stop. I ask the maid to put the petals on the bed during turndown...even DH (who isn't of the truly romantic variety) finds this charming!

Last....TRY NOT TO STRESS OUT! One of the hardest things to do is over....The Wedding....don't take the stress with you on your honeymoon!! Don't overplan or try to be a park commando....DW will be there a long time. Take the time to ENJOY what you are seeing. Stand in line only for rides that are MUST SEES! If the two of you don't enjoy this trip....it will be a long time before you (or he) will want to go back!

BEST WISHES AND ENJOY!!

We went for our honeymoon last year in August. It was great but a little too hot for me. It rained one day and we got soaked. I would really bring two pairs of sneakers each just in case.

As for meals, we also went to Cindy's for dinner. We had a table right by the windows and we could see the fireworks. They knew it was our anniversary and so we got a royal certificate that said we visited CRT on our honeymoon and two champagne glasses too.

We went to Le Cellier in Epcot. They gave us a complimentary dessert with "Happy Honeymoon" written in syrup on the plate.

Both of those places are very romantic. I don't think I could choose which place is better/more romantic.

We also ate at Ohanas. It was not very romantic but it was a lot of fun. Yachtsman's Steak House is nice, but my filet came out very well done. I would not do Tony Town's Square again.

If you can, get the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ears. We had so much fun walking around wearing our silly hats.

Okay, so I'm the eternal optomist and hope for the best....know I'm just lucky (or stupid) enough to have been in love with the same guy for 22 years (LOL)! Unbelievable!!! I was a child bride...mind you...he just robbed me from the cradle!

Wow thanks for so many great ideas! I already booked the Illuminations boat cruise. I am a Cast Member at the Disney Store so I have been asking people there for suggestions too but I think you have been the most helpful!

We are staying at the All-Star Music, figure this way we could splurge on everything else!
