Ok, my husband and I are celebrating our 10yr anniversary with an adult only trip this Labor day. We got an incredible deal on a CL stay at the BC, but I'm having buyers remorse. I love stormalong bay, but feel the rooms at BC aren't as nice as I would like (we've stayed at the BC, YC, Poly and BLT). Are the rooms at the Swan and Dolphin nicer ? We have the deluxe dining plan and I've planned our reservations, but we have TIW and could still go to some of those dinners, plus some offsite dinners.

Has anyone stayed at all of these resorts ? How does the pool compare at the Swan/Dolphin ? What would you do ?

Thanks :lovestruc

DH and I love S/D but we recently stayed at BC for the first time and loved it. We paid a little more but it was well worth we decided in the end. We asked for a king room and got one with a balcony! We loved SAB , all the food choices, the marketplace was super convienent. Epcot was steps away.

My only advice is to drop the deluxe dining , especially with club level. Too much food . With TIW you will get more value from that. I priced it out for our last trip and TIW was much better. We eat lots of signature . CL will give you breakfast, snacks, drinks, apps. So deluxe dini g will be lots. Drop that and save some $$

You will have fun regardless of where you stay

We were at the Dolphin in June(conference for dhs work) and we were not impressed at all. The carpet outside our door was missing big pieces, things needed repainted. The pool was not as clean,.. and the list goes on and on.

I vote for any of the true Disney properties!! :)

Have you been to Beach Club in the last 3-4 years since the last refurb? Because I think the furnishings are pretty upscale. I didn't find the Swan any nicer than BC, decor wise when we were there last fall.

So I have been to the Swan and Beach Club CL since last November and would definitely choose BC.

BWI was our choice for our upcoming Sept. trip. We think the rooms there are the closest we will come to GF, then I got a GREAT deal at the Dolphin (3 nts. at Dolphin for 2 at BWI) and we switched.
The last time we stayed at the Dolphin the rooms were very nice (larger than BWI) BUT I don't think they had the deluxe feel that the rooms at BWI (CL) had (we also were celebrating our 30th anniversary so wanted it to be extra special).
You still get the same Boardwalk convenience at the Dolphin/Swan for less though.
You want be able to get the DDP at the Dolphin/Swan though. We always do OOP.

I haven't stayed at S/D, but did some looking into it for a trip this September and decided against it because of all the additional costs that aren't incurred at Disney resorts, like having to pay for parking at the hotel, every day! I've never had to pay for parking at ANY hotel, ever (except one where we valet parked for two days, but we didn't pay for it, the company DH was interviewing with did, lol). Honestly, once I found that out, I didn't do much more investigating, lol.

I believe S/D have daily resort fees along with the parking fee.

I've stayed at S/D numerous times, and BC twice. If money was no object, I'd choose BC. I love the theming & the close proximity to Epcot. Sometimes the deals at S/D are too good to pass up, even with the resort fee & taxes. We had a 2BR Executive suite at Swan for only a few dollars more per night than what we paid for BC CL. Depending on the time of year & what discounts are out, S/D will be a ton less than BC.

I don't prefer one decor over the other, I like them both equally. I'm actually not a fan of SAB, I'd choose the Grotto pool at S/D over SAB any day.

I was just at Dolphin in March, and Swan & Dolphin both last year (any many times before that) and have never had a room that was run down or in dis-repair.

Good luck whatever you choose!
