We're having a few people over to celebrate Christmas. At first, my sister and her family didn't think that they would be able to make it but plans have changed and they are able to come. We thrilled but now DS and DBiL will be the only ones here without a gift to open. We buy gifts for nieces/nephews but not each other. We do a grab bag with the other people that will be here. I really need to find something for each of them to open. I know that they would be upset if I spent a lot of money so I want to keep it small.

Any idea would be GREAT!

What things do they like? Some of the more popular "grab" items we have done are a paper shredder, spice collection from Penzey's Spices, tool sets and baking dishes and lottery tickets.

Does everyone bring a gift for the gift grab or do you supply them all.

How small are you talking about, like $10 or $20 small or like $1 or $2 small.

I would go with a gift card and maybe something that goes along with the card like a Starbucks in a coffee mug kind of thing. I know Texas Roadhouse sells buckets of peanuts along with their gift cards which is cute.

I think Christmas ornaments are a great idea. They are not too expensive, most people can use a new one, and they bring back memories each year when the reciever hangs it on the tree. (I know that I am reminded of the people that have given me each ornament that was a gift each year when I hang it. There are some that go back to my college years, and I can still remember the person and that particular Christmas when they gave it to me. Honest!) Our mall has a stand that sells the Christmas ornaments that they personalize, too. That is even better! But, if you cannot get a personalized one, I still think a Christmas ornament is a great gift, IMHO.

If you live in an area that gets snow
*A new snow brush for the car
*Gloves and scarf

Also.
Flashlight that doesn't need batteries
Movie tickets
Current DVD or CD
I tunes card

Thanks for the ideas. Keep them coming.

I'm thinking around $15-$20. If I spend more, I know that DS and BiL will be upset.

Bath and body works
A cool Christmas DVD--Christmas vacation, Four Chrismases, Deck the Halls
Nice Christmas platter
Christmas ornament
Gift Card
Spa socks and lotion
Movie passes or Gift Card to a video store for rentals wrapped up with popcorn and some movie style candy
A lot of stores have half off Holiday items so you could find some sort of decor item or nice Christmas towels
Good Luck--At our extended family Christmas we do a steal game and each person brings a $25 gift for their sex. I ended up with 2 beautiful Jim Shore ornaments that my cousin found half price. I was thrilled. It is amazing what people are able to purchase for this price. I bought a nice set from Bath and Body Works because they had a special.

Matching or coordinating Snuggies. Don't laugh. I held out for two years, got one in the Christmas swap at work, and traded it away. Then it got REALLY cold here - so I went out and bought one!

i love the his/her snuggies. something to open, good for a laugh, inexpensive, and I would bet they end up using them when all is said and done.

we got one for my mil this year. I know she will roll her eyes...and I also know well that before the night is over she will be curled up in it.

I'm giving my sister a silver bracelet and a pashmina scarf and my bil a 12 pack of "beers around the world" along with a "bucket" of bungee cords. He is always using them and losing them so this will be good. We also just usually do the kids, but I wanted to have something for them to open.

Have a great holiday!

I love this idea!! It's going to be a Very Snuggie Christmas at my house this year also. My mm bought them for me and all 3 of my kids and my SIL and niece.

If you have a Kirkland's nearby, I would suggest going there as they have many gift ideas for all kinds of budgets.

What about dinner and movie gift cards? That way they could have a date night.
