I need Dr. DIS! (updated)

It's not just the coconuts mom (I know if I had received that call I'd have been in the car to my son), has anyone wondered why in the world the young lady was discharged the first time when she was in obvious distress? The symptoms seemed to very clearly indicate an appendix. . . :confused3 The lack of care on the first ER visit is most disturbing--good thing you listened to your DIS pals.

In defense (sort of) of the Mom, her child had already been seen in the ER and sent home with pain meds--her mistake was trusting the diagnosis (or lack thereof) and care received. Thankfully, you are a great roommate and wouldn't settle for the original advice. Your roommie is very lucky!

Yes, I wondered why in the world she was discharged when she was doubled over in pain sobbing. But the Dr. said to go home.

I assure you all that her mom is not a whack job. I really think she just told her to wait out the pain b/c she had gone to the ER and was discharged. She is now in town and taking very good care of her daughter. :thumbsup2
