All of a sudden my computer is being obnoxious! Everytime I try to do anything on the internet it takes forever and then when I try to close one thing by clicking the red X in the upper right hand corner I get a message the "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and has to close" It sends me messages that the program is "non-responsive". I don't understand any of it and I don't know what to do. My Norton Virus is up to date and shows no problems. I can't een Dis anymore because the frustration level with staying on the internet is so high I just sign off and quit. What can I do to fixe this problem? Help !!!

its a microsoft issue, you might try a complete shutdown and restart.

Well, not sure we can draw that conclusion. Like KatyTX said, my first suspecion would be some sort of spyware or virus. Norton doesn't always catch spyware.

To be sure, make sure you are up-to-date on the latest Windows patches and fixes. Not sure what OS or verison of IE you are running, but let's assume it's XP. If so, I suggest installing XP SP2 if you've not already done so, or if you are not up to date on the latest security patches and fixes.

As for spyware, I personally like SpyBot - Search and Destroy. It's shocking how much junk it will find on your system.

If you did manage to get things working, I'd be curious to know the resolution.
