We will be eating in Epcot for 2 dinners. We already did Coral Reef on our last trip and we are wanting to try something new. So we are planning Le Celliar, and Chefs de France. But now I am ready negative reviews about Chefs. What other one would be good?

Thanks!:)

I'm always a big fan of trying it yourself instead of letting reviews sway your choices. You may be missing out on the best meal of your trip!

That being said, if you're really not interested in Chefs anymore...there's the fun of Biergarten and Teppan Edo, and yummy places like Marrakesh and Tutto. All depends on what you're looking for....San Angel is good for atmosphere, but not so great for food....Personally, I would go with Teppan Edo.

Have fun!

I'll vote for Tutta Italia.

BUT as PP said - don't let the reviews sway you - we've kept some previously and were happy we did. Different tastes for different folks.

You spend enough time on the boards and you will find each restaurant gets their share of positive and negative reviews. There are so many variables that you just have to take a lot of it with a grain of salt.

Peoples have different pallets, tastes and preferences. Restaurants have bad nights, changes in chefs/wait staffs etc. Even some of the signature restaurants get varied reviews.

I love to read about everyone's experiences, but like PP's said don't let that be your deciding factor. I know there are a lot of positive threads about Chefs out there too. It happens to be one of the ones I'm considering for our trip this year. :)

We loved the Biergarten dinner but it is not for everyone. The entertainment gets loud and some people also do not like sitting with people they do not know (all tables are for 8 people so if there are fewer than 8 in your party you will probably sit with people you do not know...this doesn't bother us at all though but some people do not like it). Food is delicious and really there is something for everyone. It is buffet so you can try different things.

To give you an idea, we will probably choose Biergarten dinner again for our next trip for our family, and we are most likely going to try Les Chefs de France for our second night at Epcot.

I wouldn't go by all the reviews here imho, I look at them and keep them in mind, but I still try places.Marrakesh usually gets bashed here and I loved it.The same with Les Chefs .People have very different tastes and food preference ,likes and dislikes is entirely subjective.

I'd keep what you have. We've eaten at both a few times and they are both good, but the experience was different each time - judge for yourself. le Chefs disappointed me once and was great the other two times. Try the escargot there, it's awesome and the beer cheese soup at le Cellier, ditto.

WE just returned from WDW and for the Candlelight Processional dinner we ate at Teppan Edo's. Amazing food!!! We were not disappointed at all. (it is really like Bennihana's where they cook right in front of you). We wanted to eat at Le Cellier but they were booked solid while we were going to be there. Bummer...so next time. We didn't eat at any other place in Epcot...we actually ate at ESPN Club (at our sons -15yr old- request) before we entered into Epcot the second time. We walked from the boardwalk to the Epcots entrance.

We ate at Chef's a couple of weeks ago and it was fine, don't change. But if you do change, don't limit yourself to those inside Epcot. Just a short walk out the International Gateway are several other good choices in the Yacht/Beach Club, along the Boardwalk or (a little further) in the Swolphin.

We like Rose & Crown - especially when we're lucky to get a lake-side table for Illuminations.

See now, some of the alternatives listed here are not our favorites.

On our last trip we tried Chefs for the first time. I was also worried about a questionable review (my sister), but we ended up enjoying it.

I'll admit it wasn't our all time favorite meal, but it also wasn't bad either. DH didn't like his steak, but otherwise everyone else liked their food. And it was only the steak he didn't enjoy, the rest of his food was fine. The desserts were quite good.

While our service wasn't super fast or perfectly even, our server was super nice. He really made an effort to be kind. In France, you are allowed to occupy a table as long as you like - very different from America. In France, they don't bring your check until you ask - very different from the rest of WDW, where you are slightly (politely and subltly) encouraged to keep to your alotted time slot. Truly, serving American theme park style must drive the servers there crazy.

Anyhow, I won't go into details, but before our meal I had to run across Epcot in a hurry, while DH got our table. DH informed our server why I wasn't there before I arrived. Our server promptly took my drink order almost as soon as I sat down, and politely encouraged me to take my time and catch my breath before ordering. I thought it was very sweet. He let us know he wasn't going to rush us, and that we should relax and enjoy our meal. His quiet offer was so very French, and really reminded me of being in France.

Again this style of service is very un-American...but it was perfect for that moment. Plus I really liked that I was able to get a plate of fresh green beans! WDW has really cut back on the veggies lately! The ones I got there were cooked perfectly - not raw, but still crisp, and nice and thin.

As I recall, our favorite dessert was the ice cream, but they were all good.

Tutto Italia or Teppan Edo
Are our 2 new favorites. And must do every trip.

I highly recommend trying Teppan Edo. We get the filet mignon as our meat and we have yet to have a bad meal there.

Exactly!

The things I've found in common with many negative reviews is that it either the food isn't what they would normally like anyway or they order the same things they can get at home and expect it to be somehow different at Disney.

We read many negative reviews of Yak & Yeti but decided to give it a try anyway. We were so glad we did. We loved it so much we ate there twice on our recent trip. At most restaurants we didn't order the "normal" things but decided to be brave and try their specialty dishes and were pleasantly surprised by many.

In The Land there is a rotating restaurant (I think it is The Garden Grill). THe food is very good and the characters come to the tables.

Not to throw a monkey wrench into your plans but I had the best meal of my Dec trip at Chefs. So as other posters have said, sometimes you have to take reviews with a grain of salt.

But if you're looking for other recommendations. I've had great meals at Tutto Italia. I've heard good things about but haven't tried Rose and Crown.

I think you'll love Le Cellier!

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

We really liked Chefs de France. Booked it twice and enjoyed it greatly both times. I'm sorry bad reviews turned you off to it, but you might want to give it a shot sometime. Garden Grill is a fun place to eat.

yeah I read those bad reviews too and Chefs was a great meal; one of our favorites of the trip. You might want to give it a try on your own. Look at the menu and see if it appeals to your tastes. We had the filet with scalloped potatoes and it was outstanding.

We also loved Teppan Edo!

I know I am probably the only person to ever step foot in Le Cellier to say "eeeh" :confused3 It was good, tender steak, but I guess I just expected something more with all the incredible reviews it gets.
