okay.....4 weeks out from our trip and we have decided to switch from AKL to Polynesian. :D

we decided that we really want to stay on the monorail for once.
so we are splitting between CSR and Polynesian.

I am wanting to do the LV so we can watch the fireworks, etc.

so what bldg to pick? Tahiti?

Tikiman....could not get on the website......but remember it from last year......but.....I am really worried about the "smell" so which bldg would be best for our request......

ps.......its our honeymoon !!! so looking to make the stay special.
;)

We stayed in Tahiti bldg in August with a lagoon view. It was amazing! We could watch the fireworks from our patio at night and found the rooms to be a bit bigger than in some of the other bldgs. The "smell" seems to be an individual thing. Some people say they smell it and some say they have never noticed it. We weren't bothered by the "Smell" when we were there. I think you will be very pleased with the Tahiti bldg. Make sure you tell them when you make your reservation and any room requests that it is your honeymoon.

The web pages are back up today. THey shut down because I get to much traffic each month. I am fixing that and there should be no problem this month.

If you get a lagoon view room you will be in ether Tahiti or Tuvalu. There are two rooms in Tokelau that are now LV but your chances are that you will not be there. I say go with Tahiti. It has slightly larger rooms and 2 sinks in the bathroom. Your view will be the same in every room with an exception of the rooms close to the main building entrance (which is in the middle of the longhouse. These room numbers are X028 and X029 (put in a floor number for the "X"). There are some plants growing near the entrance and they block part of the view from the room. You will love Tahiti and make sure you let them know it is your Honeymoon. You can see what they did for ours last summer on my web page (link below).

Aloha

Steve

thanks Tikiman. I am going to read your trip report again.......for fun.;)

I am not worried about the tropical smell.....just the room/ac smell that can happen at any of the resorts. but if we get a room that smells......we will move.....no biggie.

thanks everyone:D

Oh, there is NO smell - don't know where everyone gets this 'smell' from? We stayed in Tahiti bldg LV and it was in one word AWESOME! It's beautiful, not to worry!

Well I did it. we are staying in the Polynesian lagoon view.......I requested Tahiti.

wooo hooo :earsboy: :earsgirl:

You will Love it. Its the only bldg we have ever stayed at
and have requested it each time.
Hopefully we will get it again when we go back in few weeks.
As for the smell , I have never smelled anything unpleasant at the poly and niether has my wife.
Enjoy your stay and congrats!!!!!

What rate did you get???
Any discount? Which one?
What was the price difference between AKL and Poly LV??

We are planning on doing the same....split between CBR and Poly in June...so just curious!!

Please post a report when you return!
Have a GREAT TRIP!! :D

We had AKL with a code rate for $139 night plus tax for std view.
the Polynesian is $294 night for LV with the AP rate. All the codes were expired and the new codes start in June.

$326 a night with tax....  this will be the most I have paid to stay anywhere including concierge beach front in Hawaii..........:smooth: (the real Hawaii)

but its for 4 nights and we are staying the first 4 nights at the CSR with a code. plus its our honeymoon.........;)
