I need advice on a problem...

I agree it's a bummer, but again mistakes happen. I try to realize that while I might be terribly disappointed, I can't imagine any of it was on purpose.

Enjoy your trip.

Why get upset about it?
Instead become creative with the problem, I would have had Disney and i still might have them send a letter saying something to the affect that well Goofy way running the mail department and he was sending out Santa’s special gifts to Santa so the trips would get there in time for him to deliver them and well Goofy just goofed and sent it to our house instead
you get the idea get creative and make it a win, win for everyone with out stepping on any ones toes jmo

For some of you....

I own a business and when I promise someone something I follow thru or I make it as right as I can.

I was told not to worry about it....

I gave them a second address and they failed to use it

It was all documented in their computer

If she could not do it... she should have told me that

If she could not do it she should have sent it to my work address

She told me several times "dont worry I will take care of it all"

In the world of business .... at least as far as I am concerned my word is good .... my handshake is good ... I make mistakes and I make them right.

I have to give away free product sometime to make it right

I am not at all angry... never was

I appreciate what Disney did and I appreciate their honesty

I also appreciate their word and understanding of a commitment

Somethings I wish more of us had

Thanks again to all of you

I can understand being upset, Disney did goof up!

I've worked for a res center, taking hotel, car, tour reservations etc. for a travel wholesaler that specialized in Europe. I took the reservations, but a differant department all together actually handled the mailing of confirmations, dcouments, etc. If the document department didn't see any notes I might have made, they'd often goof and mail things to the wrong place. I'm sure that's what happened here. The res agent you spoke with made every effort to document and flag the reservation, but someone else down the line made the actual error of not following the instructions to NOT mail the confirmation to your home.

Yes, Disney goofed, and I think you do deserve some gesture of good will (conceiarge is a stretch IMO, but whatever). It sounds to me, though, that you are blaming the res agent you spoke with, when I feel it was another area's mistake. She promised something that Disney as a company should have delivered on, and she made the promise in good faith. You're making sound like she promised something she knew Disney couldn't do, and was just telling what you wanted to hear. Basicly, I think you're blaming the wrong person.

Anyway, try to not let this ruin your trip, you still get to go to Disney!

If I was the OP I would have just told the 6 year old- Oh this isn't WDW reservations, its just an advertisement/junk mail. And then drop the WDW subject- the child would probably forget about it.

I was looking at the Disney World website, and the difference between value season rates and peak season rates at AKL is $90 per night or more, depending on the room. So I'd say that might be a pretty sizable discount he got over 7 nights? was it?, probably a nice compensation in my opinion. Of course if he already had a discounted rate, the difference might not have been as much, I don't know, but still it would be a nice chunk of cash there.
