I am in an AP World History class, The homework for this week was Chapter 1 and 2 outline, Vocabulary Definitions with a Signifigance statement, A time travelor chart, and Discussion notes..
A rough estimate on how long I worked on those things this week:
( starts with tuesday because monday was a day off.)
Tues. 5-12
Wed. 5-12
Thurs.5-12
( This is an estimate but it varies about there which equals 21 hours of home works for 1 yes 1 class.. now I wouldn't have a problem with the work if I understood what was going on, or if it helped me with testing..
Yesturday the teacher told us to look over the discussion questions and read both chapters again, and that is how you would prepare yourself for the test.. Well it mainly focused on small things in the chapter which you would have to STUDY them for. And because I only did what he said, I believe that I got a horrible grade, because frankly I didn't remember the best possible answer for a civilization when 3 of them have to do with a civilization but there is only 1 that is the best answer..
Ok my question is this.. I have 3 options..
1) stay in the class and hope it gets better.. try and memorize chapters.. @_@ ( He has a thing where you can make up the problems you missed and get half the points..)
2) Switch to the other teacher for AP World History who has you read part of the chapter and has homework quizzes.. and possibly understand the material.. but i really dont know if i would or not..
3) Transfer to World History Honors and take a different AP class next year like English or something..
* Side note- I absolutely have to take 2 AP classes because my goal is Valdictorian which requires 2 of those classes, I am going to be taking AP music theory which I know I will love because my band director teaches it, and it is like another band class..
So I only need 1 more.. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
