I Need A Vacation!!!!

I know this may sound weird, but I need a vacation. Okay not need, but I do really want one! I'm not talking about a one day trip to WDW, I'm talking about an actual magical-resort-vacation! We can afford it, but the main reason we cannot go:

1. About a year ago our dog had a seizure. He has had one or two since then and we have been giving him his med. every day, taken him to vets, ect.
Our dad is really holding us back because he doesn't want him staying at vet. I mean he will not get a little cage, he has his own room. Literally it is like he is being pampered! (The room has it's own TV, window, everything)
He stayed their before, even after he started the seizures.
I know that he is our dog and he will miss us, but seriously we're not going to leave him their for 2 weeks!, not even a week!

2. My sisters work/school.

3. My dad and moms (they own their own company and work together) work schedule.

My mom and I know that we need a vacation, but my dad and sister are not too keen on going. I mean I'm not planning on going next week!


Sorry for my little rant.
So, I was wondering is their any way you would handle this situation??

i'm in the same boat... we haven't been on a holiday anywhere for 18 months now. We really need a holiday. We have the dates set. We've found some cheap flights. We can afford everything atm. But, my dad still won't book it. It's very annoying.

i've been in this situation recently before my family went to disney ( definatly in great need of a trip there we hadn't gone for 2 years)( wasn't an easy two years for us ) so just keep kind of sticking to it ( i think that worked for me ) oh yeah, when my dad didn't book the plans we told him that if we waited longer those deals would be gone and we would have to pay even more for it ( we were not staying home another april vacation). sorry if this doesn't help you

well, I think you should stay with your dog. I don't know what he's like, but what if you came back and heard that he had died or something? If the dog is like really old, surely you can stay with him until he dies. But if he is really young, then I guess you would want to go. But you guys got a dog, and dogs are for looking after. Especially if its sick like that 0.o

I'm sorry.
I need one too.
I haven't been since 06, and this year my parents went without me.
Right now the money isn't really there (my brother is going into his second year of Uni, and this year it doesn't look like has a job to pay for it), and we don't really have the time.
My mother said the other day we'll probably never have a family vacation again (although possibly in '11 when we both graduate) as my brothers schedule doesn't work with ours. I don't know if that means my parents will take me again, or if it really means no more vacations.
I didn't dare ask.

I'm sorry I know what its like we havent planned our vacation for this year and its been a year since we have had a real vacation. I mean I went to Chicago and Las Vegas this year but that was for a dance competion and we trained, trained then performed and then we flew home so I really dont call that a vacation. Then I'm going to London next month with my dance team but my mom said due to my brother has a Cross Country training camp and he coming we are cutting it short meaning i'll go to London for 4 day well the rest of my family site sees I'll be locked inside a studio with my dance team training. My dad said we were going to Hawaii this week with my cousins then my cousin got this really scary infection and she has to be quarritined till August so we cant go till then and the week there going my grandparents are taking us camping somewhere and Canada which I'm not too excited about. But last night my dad was talking about going to this place called Sun River which is supposefully a resort in Southern Oregon next August right before school starts back up for a week and me and my brother can bring a friend which sounds quite fun because apparently there are horses to ride there, lakes, and things like that. Maybe dont go quite as far or go somewhere you can bring a dog because I know at least in Sun River theres places you can bring a dog and you can rent like a real nice 4 bedroom home for a nice price that includes a hot tube and all... I mean if you got the money like my family does maybe you can go somewhere where you can bring a dog
