I need a Residence Inn Discount Code

I am planning a one night stay outside of Florida and don't think I'm eligible for the gov't rate. (I work as a sub. in a NY State school district). The only other discount listed is for AAA of which I am no longer a member. Does anyone know of a corporate rate? When I inquired through the AMEX site, the rate code was not discounted. I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd give it a try. Thanks.

Are you a Marriott Rewards member? If not, sign up. That might get you a discount. Not sure.

According to the Marriott website, government employees are defined as All "federal, state, county and local government employees" so I would think school teachers, whether sub or permanent, would fall under gov't employees. The next question might be whether you have to be on government business to get the discount.

The Marriott website also had other specials and package deals but I couldn't find any corporate rates.
