I will be going to DLR for New Year's Eve and New Year's Dayand have never gone at this time of the year, I hear the crowds are horrendous. We are staying off site about a block away and I am worried about getting into the park and, once there, getting as much in despite the crowds. We plan on going non stop throughout the day, but would like to visit both DCA and DLR. I'm very worried about the surplus of people interfering with us just taking our time and enjoying walking around, anyone have tips for holiday visits?

Check out the ridemax website (sorry I cannot post a link). You have to pay for it, but it is worth the money. You download it onto your computer and it makes an itinerary for you. You can find other information about ridemax here on the forum as well.

-# 1 tip: Get there EARLY! Can't tell you how much you can get done in the first couple hours compared to the rest of the day

- Use FP. Works especially well for Space, Splash, Indy (if there's a long outside line) at DL and Soarin and Screamin at DCA

- Start at DL. Then leave for DCA around afternoon. DCA shouldn't be nearly as crowded.

- Some rides to hit early because they develop long lines:
DL- Peter Pan (gets long quick and stays long all day with no FP)
Dumbo (optional)
Space Mountain-FP
Indiana Jones-FP
Splash Mountain-FP
Autopia-FP
Finding Nemo (this line gets long quick and stays long all day with no FP)

DCA- Soarin-FP
California Screamin-FP
Grizzly River Run-Unnetworked FP (means you can obtain a FP for this even if you are holding onto another. This also works for Roger Rabbit at DL)

All of these lines will be at least an hour most of the day so plan accordingly.

bear in mind that 1/1 is a EE day too so if you don't have EE access, fantasyland (and nemo) will be a royal pain for you all day. 12/31 would be the day to do those things (assuming you're getting to the parks first thing).

you aren't going to see everything DLR has to offer in those 2 days. not even close.

i would second ridemax in this particular case.
