I need some kind of small bag that can easily be kept on my while walking and riding rides at the parks. I need to be able to fit at least my wallet, cell phone, and camera inside. I refuse to wear a fanny pack. Does anyone have any suggestions?

do you like Vera Bradley? i like the mini-hipster or the strap wallet styles. www.verabradley.com if you have a small thin camera it would probably fit in the mini-hipster.

This is what cargo shorts and a spouse are for

haha! Do you have a husband I can borrow for this Friday? He'll have to dress in costume!

I've been trying to come up with non fanny-pack options as well.... not adverse to them, but just doesn't fit in with my dress for costume.

Sure wish you could get cases for small digital cameras that will let you have them at the ready (ie around your neck on strap)! ....

I looked at the mini hipster, I'm not really sure my camera would fit.

I just bought this bag http://www.ebags.com/ellington_leather_goods/airport_express/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=46050 for my upcoming WDW trip. I too wanted something small but big enough to hold my camera and cell phone. It's perfect.

I'm going to check it out now! Thanks for the recommendation!

He's in charge of the camcorder and the shopping bags! :rotfl:

That is so funny! I was just telling my husband the other day that a fanny pack is definitely not fashionable, but maybe we should go ahead and get one for disney since it would be practical.

Thanks for starting this thread so I can hear about the alternatives too!

I know! I was actually considering it too. I started looking at them online and got disgusted! :rotfl: I thought "Surely someone on the DIS knows what to do!" I am far too dependent on this place!!

This is my favorite. I love this bag. I can carry everything including a water bottle and the strap is Nylon and I put my pins on it!

This looks awesome!!!

I have a cinch sack, its a mini back pack make out of nylon. You can get them at a sporting goods store(Modells, Dick Sporting Goods). Nike has one and it cost $10. very light and you can get alot in them.

Just use your small camera bag. You don't need your entire wallet. You need a credit card, or your room key, some cash, driver's license and a few other small items. I went with just my camera bag slung over my shoulder. DH carried the phone in his pants pocket. There rides at Disney are not wild, so you really don't have to worry about your phone flying out of your pocket. Wear you sunglasses on a chain so you don't have to stick them in a bag when you don't need them.

 I don't have a camera bag either. I'm just not usually a bag person! I carry around cute little girly purses with nothing but handles. :rotfl:

Go to ebay and purchase a small Vera Bradley backpack or hipster! These bags have made my life so much easier at Disney AND I got them for a fraction of the retail price!

I know people find fanny packs unfashionable and I can understand why someone might not want to wear it with a costume ... but I live and die by my fanny pack. The alternatives are nice but I HATE not having my hands free and I don't like things around my neck.

It did take me a while to find one I really liked. I even liked it well enough to get three right away -- I told DH the original will never break now that I have a couple spares.

Anyway ... I just had to join in the thread. I hope you find what you need - it definately is nice to travel light. I remember taking the old BACKPACK :scared1: to the theme parks - glad that is over! (also glad I am slightly beyond worrying about fashion!) :thumbsup2

I like this bag:

http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/eco_large_wallet_bagg/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=113503

I've used it for the last 6 or so trips in the microfiber version (it has come in different fabrics over time). It serves as my wallet (has numerous credit card/license slots and two "center" zip compartments for cash, coins, etc.) and holds my small hairbrush, cash, tickets, pen, chapstick, bandaids, moleskin, small container of tylenol, copy of our itinerary, and trial size sunscreen, all on the inside. The outer two pockets hold my cell phone and my small Canon SD800 IS camera. I love having both hands free in attractions, and when checking out at a CS restaurant or store location, and having my important items still attached to me.

Try the Vera Bradley Mini Hipster. Small, fashionable, and not THAT expensive. I paid full price for mine at $49.19 with tax.

I love it, as I only need to carry a few small things and like my hands free as well.

The strap is thin and very comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend it.

oh really? Do you tolerate wearing other over the shoulder bags well?
I love bags that I can wear cross body. With the Ellington bag I use it as my everyday bag and I just extend the strap all the way out and wear it cross body. But with the qvc bag I just don't like the way it lays. Thats just my opinion.

Just remembered Disney also has the cinch sacks with Disney Designs on them. You can get them down at disney or probably online. They probably cost a little more then the Nike bags but they are Disney!
