I must lose weight!

Setting small...reachable goals is a wonderful thing. When I started to lose weight (1/06)...I decided to set a reachable goal. I have just reached that goal (25lbs...I'm down 26lbs). I told myself once I lost 25 lbs I would get a massage (my reward :thumbsup2 ) so I need to schedule this soon. Now I have set another 15lb goal.

I am going thru infertility any my doctor wanted me to lose 40lbs before trying another treatment. I do not have the infertility diagnosis, DH does, but my weight didn't help with the IVF process. So...that is where my 15lb goal comes from. DH had to surgery to try and fix/help the problem and he has his follow up in early may...so I have until then. Then we will find out if we still need to go thru the infertillity process or not.

The most important thing-don't get discouraged!

I can't believe I have been good for almost two weeks now, I even started exercising this week (which I haven't done in forever). I now have something to lose for-the trip to Europe I just signed up for this summer. I am quite proud of myself and it feels much more like a lifestyle change than a "diet" at this point. When you look at it like that it doesn't seem so bad. Small steps are the way to go, i'm not losing weight at the rate now that I did two years ago when I lost 36 lbs in two months, but I am losing weight consistently. My goal is 2-3 lbs per week, without depriving myself. I'm doing a modified atkins approach, actually closer to south beach. I stay away from bread, starchy vegetables, and processed sugar, but am allowing myself certian fruits like oranges and watermelon and tropical melons (these are the only fruits I would eat anyway). Lots of veggies, protien and some fruit with a low carb/sugar free treat once a day. Seems to be working so far, down ten pounds, and the most important part-feeling great mentally and physically! I have gotten myself out of the "rut" now I just have to stay on the "track"!

Don't give up. I don't have quite as much weight to lose, but I do need to lose 40 pounds and it is a daunting amount to me. I have decided I need to lose five pounds eight times. For some reason, it seems more "doable".

I lose weight VERY slowly. I started a month ago and I'm only down four pounds. I know it's going to take a long time, but I'm going to do it. I'm not doing any program this time. I'm make better choices for myself every day. No fast food or fried foods. Less sugar and more fruits, vegetables and fiber. Also trying to walk every day.

One day at a time.

Good luck!!!

Well I have finally been good for a while now and managed to lose 32 lbs. I feel way better but it's still a long way to go! Now if I can be semi-good for my two week trip..... It will be a challenge but I am trying not to gain any weight. I also have to remember not to fall back into the fast food trap once school starts back up!
