The most important thing-don't get discouraged!
I can't believe I have been good for almost two weeks now, I even started exercising this week (which I haven't done in forever). I now have something to lose for-the trip to Europe I just signed up for this summer. I am quite proud of myself and it feels much more like a lifestyle change than a "diet" at this point. When you look at it like that it doesn't seem so bad. Small steps are the way to go, i'm not losing weight at the rate now that I did two years ago when I lost 36 lbs in two months, but I am losing weight consistently. My goal is 2-3 lbs per week, without depriving myself. I'm doing a modified atkins approach, actually closer to south beach. I stay away from bread, starchy vegetables, and processed sugar, but am allowing myself certian fruits like oranges and watermelon and tropical melons (these are the only fruits I would eat anyway). Lots of veggies, protien and some fruit with a low carb/sugar free treat once a day. Seems to be working so far, down ten pounds, and the most important part-feeling great mentally and physically! I have gotten myself out of the "rut" now I just have to stay on the "track"!
