Kissing all the girls is such a good thing. I dated and married my highschool sweetheart, so I guess I don't have any experience when it comes to the dating scene when you are in your 20's. That being said, I watched the Bachelor last night for the first time. And I could not believe my eyes that he was hot and heavy kissing with both girls. That turned me off. I know I am being naive but how can you ask someone to marry you while your tongue was just down someone elses throat ????? OK, flame away, I am ready.

I agree with you 100% (also married my high school sweetheart). I didn't watch this Bachelor but I watched the other one and commented about that frequently. He was making out with this one, trying to get that one into bed, kissing everybody, etc. I think it speaks to the dating scene today - which I just would never fit in with.

I agree, that was so dumb. When Brooke told his parents that her ex fiance messed around, I couldn't help but think that Aaron was just making out with Helene the night before. Ick.

honestly the whole concept of the show disgusts me.

I agree!
I havent watched the show so I may be way off here, but from what Ive heard, I find it to be pretty pathetic. A bunch of woman fighting over and throwing themselves at some guy they just met(what a few weeks ago?) to marry them? Theres obviously a reason they arent married.

I have to agree. There is no way I could do the 'date scene'. DH was my first and last 'boyfriend'.

I only watched the ending beacause of so much talk on the internet. I was disgusted also. It seemed blah! Who would want to marry a man who had just spent time with another woman doing??? Then to say yes based off a show? What is television coming to.

I wouldn't be able to be on the show at all. First of all I would refuse to compete with any other girls and I am possessive. It just wouldn't work.

The dating scene? I wouldn't know how.

I watched this show for the first time last night. I can't believe these girls would go on this show. It just seems pretty pathetic to me.

I agree completely. There aren't very many women in the "real world" who would tolerate it if the guy they were dating was kissing another woman at the same time.

But, what is wrong with HIM that he has to go on national television to get dates? He's handsome, wealthy and successful. There's gotta be something going on that he can't find someone on his own. All of the women are beautiful, too. Are nice guys too afraid to ask them out? Are they too shy to ask a guy out?

If you ask me, they are all a bunch of exhibitionists looking for attention.

How about this? They aren't allowed to see each other for 2-1/2 months since the show, but they talk on the phone and watching the show has put a strain on their relationship.

But, alas... she got a Harry Winston diamond out of the deal. She should be able to sell it when they break up and make some money on the deal.

Cheap, sleazy, tabloid TV.

Embarassingly, the network that put out this show (ABC) is owned by the Disney company.

I find the whole idea of parading around these women like cuts of meat for this guy to choose from disgusting. Also the idea that a woman needs a man to give her life any meaning or validity.

Unfortunately, it does bring in the ratings, and THAT will be what drives the networks to continue this type of trash, instead of quality shows.

And in the time slot it competed against......oh, yes, the Victoria's Secret line.

That's why I watch so very little TV and the public (NBC, CBS, ABC) stations can't figure out why viewership is down ?

I spent my 20s perFECTing the dating scene and I find it appalling myself... and I watched the show from beginning to end! I find it hard to believe that those women would be that stupid to put themselves up like that but lately there are scads of shows with this premise... Dismissed, Blind Date, Elimidate, The Fifth Wheel... they are all over the place.

Like Deb said, they will always have a following. But so do porno films, wrestling, Jerry Springer, judge shows and soap operas.... to each his own!

And viewership is down across the board on the networks because of the cable and dish stations.

It is a TV show, Vija, money. Whatever type of trash sells, it will be sold, to whomever will watch and enjoy it. That is the world. I surfed onto that show, I think two weeks ago. After watching (too long) for about ten minutes, I turned it off. It is in line with so many of the currently popular 'reality' shows. Not really reality, but rather a scripted show of amateurs trying to make a buck. For the networks, the cost is low, main cost is the constant promotion.

Commercial and optional cable broadcasting (HBO, etc) will reach whatever lows they have to in order to peddle airtime, simple money issue.

It's times like this I feel lucky to have a DH. Yes, I dated alot but my dates never overlapped. If this is what the dating world has come down to I feel sorry for all those single people.

The Bachelor is stinky television. :p

I agree, the only reason I watched it was because "Amazing Race" was on an hour early. What a stupid show. You could also see in the grandmothers eyes she thought it was a bunch of horse S*&t too

I would say that the family had some major $$$$$$$ don't you think?
