Ok well after juggling things around, I will still need to move 3 times on my August trip. Please assure me that these aren't all that bad of moves:

8/16- studio BCV (save pts due to weekend)
8/17-20 1 Bed BCV
8/21 1 bed BWV
8/22-24 Pop Century (weekend)

I figure the first day we will be getting orientated with the resort and do not need to unpack. I can just go down in AM and check into 1 bed and then spend day at resort. I will call Bell Services and have them move bags to new room when it is ready. Then spend next 4 days at BC. Then I need to move to BWV due to short 6 pts needed to stay at BC. I thought of cancelling BWV for this night and just extending Pop Century by 1 day, but I originally used borrowed pts, and will lose the pts for BWV if I cancel. I figure that since the resorts are next to eachother, we can hoof it to BW in the AM and check in there and spend that day at Epcot, using Bell services to move over the luggage. Lastly, when I move to Pop, not sure what I will do that day. I have thought of either taking cab with luggage there in the AM and checking in and leaving for parks. Or having BS move luggage from BW and going to parks in the AM and then going to Pop at noon to check in and hang out at pool. How does this sound?? :upsidedow

This SOUNDS really difficult but I think you'll be ok since the resorts are so close. I agree w/some posts about making it a park day & not "waiting" around for luggage/room. We had planned it that way in Dec. when we had to change resorts & got lucky & were able to check in near 11 at OKW when we checked out at BWV. Just assume you won't get to check in until 4 o'clock & plan your day accordingly so you won't be disappointed.

I really hate that this kind of thing seems to be getting to be the "norm". We joined in 01 & never had a problem getting a ressie & NEVER had to change resorts/rooms up until the last year. Now our Oct. trip, booked 7 months out, has a split ressie (NOTHING at BW/BC) & only part days everywhere else for studio. Our Dec. trip that I am booking now is looking like one day in BWBWV then 3 days BWstdview studio (saving weekend pts) then moving to a 1BR@BW.....hubby doesn't want to move 2x so I hope waitlist comes thru for 1st day--at least it's the same resort. GUESS the SECRET is out! ALL the more important now to BUY where you want to stay (we're at WVL&SSR)

Good LUCK!

Wow!!!! We moved 3 times in a week if you count starting at VB. We were there for three nights, BWV PV 2 nights and BWV BW view 2 nights. Never again, wasted too much time waiting for our rooms. We were with our kids, all in their 20's. I hope it goes better for you.

I would hope you are Waitlisted for the 21st or consider paying cash if that is an option. I personally think 1 move is enough...but I am currently scheduled for 3 also if my WL's don't come through. This is why I will not book at 1brm;) Studio=lots of trips

If I read the point charts correctly, you're spending either 147 or 153 points, depending upon if your BWV night is a 1 bedroom standard or preferred.

Did you consider seeing if you could get an OKW one bedroom for those dates? It would be 148 points for all 6 of your DVC nights in a one bedroom.

That's way too many moves but then I don't stay elsewhere on weekends to save points because I hate moving. We are doing AKV/VWL split in December and AKV concierge/VWL split next spring. We're doing that only because I want the family that we're taking with us in December to be able to stay at both of the resorts as they will love both of them. And then next spring we can do concierge for just my DH and me for a few days before VWL. One move is my limit though and I really prefer NO moves.

We've got a couple of moves scheduled for our August vacation. We are starting with 2 nights (Fri-Sat) at the All Star Music family suites. Then my mom and step dad show up to join the four of us for 5 nights in a 2 bedroom at SSR. Then they leave on Friday and we spend one last night at Pop before heading home. Originally had us at Pop for the start of the trip too but then I found out about the family suites and decided that would be better for us.

Am booking a day by day trip for Dec. Have a Dec UY so will be using that year's points(none banked from prior yr). I have 4 studio days so far but today had to book a 1BR as they had no studios. I asked to be waitlisted & HOPE a studio comes available & we won't have to move. MS said she'd put me on waitlist for up to 7 days prior to trip to HELP my odds of getting studio....I asked if it came available if I'd have the pts. difference put into a holding account & she said NO b/c it was all the same ressie......

I'm confused...I thought they'd go into a holding account if it was 31 days out? Have I got incorrect info? Calling back tomorrow to try for last day of trip but thought I'd check here first. I don't want to have pts. to use in Jan. when I can't go....

If the 16th is your first night in the area you may want to consider staying off site that first night and using the points that you save by not staying in the studio to stay at BCV rather than BWV on the 21st. This would save you one move.

You could still check in early on the 17th and spend the day at the resort.

I am not sure which points you borrowed but maybe any extra points from the night of the 16th could be banked? In any event, it may be worth losing some points to eliminate a move.

It's my understanding that the points that you saved by getting a studio in 30 days or less when you had a 1 bedroom booked WOULD go into holding. A CM once pointed that out to me as I was waitlisting for a SV studio at BWV when I had preferred. Any "savings" once the 30 days came about would be points that I probably couldn't have used as it was too close to the end of my UY.

Yes and at one time I was in OKW for the week( when original BWV ressie was lost when MS tried to switch me over to BCV and then realized there was only 2 of the 5 days available there), but I really wanted to stay in the Epcot area. BWV is my home resort and since I already have a week long stay there over Christmas and New Years, I really wanted to get into BCV.

Your option totally makes sense, and I tried to do it that way, but I have 2 separate BWV contracts with different UY( I know, I am a dumb dumb :headache: ). The way MS used the points, they borrowed some from one contract and some from another for this stay and if I cancelled my stay on the 21st, I would have to lose 22 pts as I couldn't bank them ( they were Sept 07 pts expiring the end of August). I just did not want to lose those points. The Sat night stay pts are from April 08 UY, so those I could bank if I wanted to. I figured I would keep the ressie for that one night because at least I am at the same resort for 5 days straight.

We just returned from 5 resorts in 15 days with a 10 month old & 5 yr old:

1 night - Poly
1 night - Contemporary Concierge
2 nights - SSR
8 nights - AKV
3 nights - Yacht Club Concierge

Plus 3 hotels for our drive down & back which makes 8 hotels in 18 days! Whew!

Anyway, it takes good planning in regards to: daily schedules, luggage transfers, packing and ADRs, but it's totally do-able if you do some planning and organizational work beforehand.

We had extra points that we had to use by the end of May (our use year), as the only time we travel at end of use year is when I'm on maternity leave, so this is it!

We are so glad we did this as we realized how much we love the Epcot Resorts Area, as well as liked the concierge services at Contemporary. Concierge also helped us with our transfers, holding packages, etc., so it made the hotel transfers even easier for us. It was a great learning trip for us, as much as a fun adventure!

I wish you much luck on your hotel adventure! Tiger :)

Whew, that makes my schedule look easy! I think it is not going to be too bad. Since we have already been to WDW twice in the past year, and we have another 10 days planned over Christmas and New Years, we plan to have lots of down time on this trip. No park commadoing( is that a word?:scratchin ) this time around. We plan to take it easy and spend time at the pool and take advantage of EMH.

All I can say is UGH! We try not to move at all if possible. If a weekend is in the way and we don't have enough points, we will stay somewhere on cash, usually at one of the mods or if there are enough discounts the DVC we are already staying at.

You have a positive outlook and things will be fine. In August, I'll be home in NY washing clothes, dishes, floors, etc. I would take those moves at WDW if that was my only choice!

Have a great trip!
