I say AMEN to the fact that the political threads are gone. Where have the people gone that use to post something negative about our current political leader every single or sometimes several times a day. They had got out of control and I question if they were possessed?? But know I see alot of negativity going on- not necessarily in the community thread but if you stroll up you see lots of it in the theme parks and resort threads.

I really miss the politcal threads. The ideas being tossed around Washington are going to impact all of us.

I haven't been around as long as others, but I joined in late '04, and I can honestly say the CB moves much slower and seems to be a lot of fluff.

I do visit the other boards to plan my trip, but I really miss being able to discuss the news of the day and hear other opinions, even if they are polar opposite from mine.

Without the political threads, some say this board is boring. I challenge those people to start a thread that will engage others and get this board going again. Is no one creative enough, does no one have any ideas in their head besides politics? Why depend on ONE TOPIC to get your juices flowing?

Maybe the people who are bored are the boring people. Just a thought.

Me, too.

By the way, I like grapes, too. My husband says I'm stealing when I pluck a grape or two off the twig thing to eat in the supermarket. Maybe I should start a thread asking if that's stealing or sampling. That would get heated!

Okay guys, here's the deal. We are going to bring politcal threads back to the Community Board, but without the Mods discovering what we are doing. Here's how we're going to pull this off. We'll disguise names of key politcal figures to that of characters from Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.

For example:
President Obama.............Harry Potter
Dick Cheney...................Professor Albus Dumbledore
Hillary Clinton.................Ginny Weasley
V.P. Joe Biden................Fenrir Greyback
Sarah Palin....................Hermione Granger
Rush Limbaugh...............Professor Severus Snape
....and so on and so forth.....

Each time we start a new political thread, we must disguise the title with something related to the HP film, so to throw off the mods and keep the thread from being locked/deleted. (For example: "Is Ginny Weasley doing enough to encourage diplomacy with Iran?" or "Professor Dumbledore shot yet another man on a hunting trip.")
That way, nobody will have any clue of us bringing politics back, just confused as all get-out as to why we are so enthusiastic about HP films. Of course, the cover might be blown in 2012 when there are over a dozen Harry vs. Hermione posts on each page of the Community Board, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Until then, I say it's foolproof! Anyone with me?

I dont miss it. Certain groups always wanted to push their side to the extent that they were cruel at times.
As far as the political part... I got tired of seeing a certain man's ugly face at the end of every post. HUGE billboards attached to user IDs brought people who were usually friends apart as enemies of the cause. It went both ways too. No one group was exempt. I come here to discuss Disney, not Obama or McCain. There have been people here who I respected who pushed their political side so far that I no longer liked them. That's not why I come here. Its a forum for Disney fans. I like the changes. If your pro______ that's your choice. I'd rather not know it. It might change how I feel about you. If you have a good Disney tip... let's hear it. That is what I like hearing from you. JMHO.

Oh, and I don't like Harry Potter. Never watched it, never will. So I can't go that route either.
