I met Tony Curtis!!!

OMG...LOVE Tony Curtis and LOVE "Some Like It Hot"..."BIENSTOCK"! :happytv:

He was a guest on The Graham Norton Show a few months ago. I laughed through the whole thing. Oh, the things he revealed! ;)

You lucky(pretty) girl! :goodvibes

We stayed at the Hotel Del Coronado and watched the movie as well. I was hooked. It is a great movie. What other Tony Curtis movies out there are as good as Some Like it Hot?

Love Tony Curtis - what a great personality! He always makes me laugh.
So jealous of you right now! ;)

I meet Tony Curtis on a flight from Sarasota, Florida to Newark, New Jersey. He was wearing the same hat in your photo. He was very friendly and in fact started the conversation with me.

Wish I got a picture with him.

Awesome...and I am thrilled you know who he is, I thought I was the only one who knew of the "oldtimers." ;)They are a dime a dozen, if that, now!:guilty: I met Tony Randall back in the 70's at a theatre I used to have my Dance recitals at...signed an album, and as I recall he was very nice...was soo sad when he died a few years back.:guilty:

He does a TV ad for Clear Choice dental implants that shows here in the Dallas area.
My Mom's claim to fame is when she was in HS, her class sent all the Senior girls pictures to him to pick the most beautiful and he chose my Mom. Or, as my Mom likes to say "His secretary" picked her. :)
On a side note, on my Moms 50th HS reunion they names her least changed. I told her that is aging well....

Love the pictures and the autograph. Awesome!:cool1:

Congratulations! I can imagine how great that was for you to be able to meet him, and get some great pictures, and the autograph on your poster! How exciting! I always thought he was really good looking "back in the day."

What a great pic, It so sad that all those great actors of that time are almost gone:sad2:

I can tell you, I bought the tickets for it - the day they went on sale. I thought for sure, they'd sell out. Not even close. There was 2 showings - and we went to the later one (9:30 - autographs at about 8:30) and there was *maybe* 25 people in the theater - *maybe*.

And again - thinking there would be a lot of people, I got there at 7:30 (there's a bar in the lobby, with some tables - so we figured we'd just kill some time) So there's that BIG sign, so we could hear tons of people "Who is Tony Curtis? Who is that? Tony Curtis????"

It was kinda sad - for lack of a better word. 50 years ago, the place would have had a line around the block, KWIM?

It was very exciting. He was still incredibly charming, and funny. I was on cloud 9 all night. :cloud9:

I'm glad you were there to support him...you're a lucky girl!

Ava Gardner is from my area and all my life I had people to say that I looked like her even some of her family. I would laugh it off and say "who's that" when she passed away I was so sad that I never met her and wished I could. I think it would have been great to work at the old Hollywood studios like MGM when they made great movies.

Neat.

Have you had a chance to visit the Hotel Del?

Only from afar. We saw it once, when in So Cal.

Oh - and I've seen The Grand Floridian several times. ;)

This is the Tony I REMEMBER!!

When I kept saying to my husband (all night :rolleyes1 ) Tony Curtis said you're a lucky man - he'd say "He's an old man!!!" and I would tell him, that doesn't matter. He was *HOT* when he was younger.

Or, as my Mom likes to say "His secretary" picked her. :)

You know what - they did a Q&A before the show started, in the theater - and the way he talked about his younger days and all the women and his triumphs (had a lot to say about Marilyn Monroe) I wouldn't doubt that HE did the picking. So, tell your Mom, she's wrong!! :goodvibes

Side note - his wife (who is just 2 years older than me, and a tall -about 6 foot - blonde, curvy, VERY buxom -stands out in a crowd- beautiful woman) and himself run a horse rescue out in Nevada.

I wish I would have gotten pictures of her too - I was just so star-struck. :3dglasses

Anyways - they were selling these cute little decorated horseshoes, for a really reasonable price, which all the proceeds went to their horse rescue. So, I bought one of them, too. Just a little magnetic one. Very cute.

Anyways - the link: http://shilohhorserescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=4095

I guess he and is wife are very very involved in horse rescue. :goodvibes

you are better looking than her. Maybe that is why he was saying your husband was lucky...

Would you accept and indecent ($1,000,000) proposal from him???

That's very cool, Cat! I love Tony Curtis. I grew up watching him. I still love his movies. I watched Captain Newman MD the other night. Tony Curtis and Gregory Peak...who could ask for more?

As far as I'm concerned, the days of real movie stars are gone. The new stars can't hold a candle to many of the greats from the 40s, 50s and 60s.
