Don't know how many of you are from the Philly or Tampa area, but I wanted to post this because I'm still so happy! 
Up until a few years ago, I was a HUGE Philadelphia Flyers fan. However, the GM Bobby Clarke has turned the team into a local joke (don't worry, I won't go on a rant
).
Anyway, back in the mid-70's, the entire city of Philly was in love with the Flyers, not only because they won the cup twice, but they were regular "guys" who seemed to really appreciate their fans. One of my favorite players was Bill Barber.
Bill retired from the team, and went on to coach the Philadelphia Phantoms, and under his leadership, won lots of championships.
Bill eventually became captain of the Flyers, after Bobby Clarke managed to fire just about every other NHL coach that had ever worked in Philly.
Bill took the team to the finals, but failed to bring home the cup, so, in true Clarke form, he was fired at the end of that season. Since then, he has been working as Director of Player Personnel for the Tampa Bay Lightening. As many of you know, the Lightening won the cup, and I was so glad that Bill could be there to enjoy that success.
This weekend, DH and I went to a dockside cafe for lunch, and who was sitting almost next to me???? BILL BARBER.
I didn't want to bug him, but I wanted to tell him how sorry I was that he was forced out of Philly, so I approached him. He was SO NICE! He shook my hand, we chatted for a few moments, and signed an autograph for me
