I was so proud of myself for getting the reasonable SW flight at the time we wanted, right when it came out this morning (or, as I look at the clock, yesterday morning!). Didn't occur to my sleep deprived brain to go back and book the hotel package immediately. When I confirmed the hotel choice with the family at dinner tonight and went back on line to book, the only rooms avail at AKL are standard - no more pool view room.
I called, got a little excited when the CM confirmed that we had, indeed, stayed there before (as if it would help!), but to no avail. Only had standard view. We ended up booking the standard view, so at least we have somewhere to stay, but I've been a little down all night.
The CM did say to keep calling, as there might be a cancellation. Anyone have any opinions of the odds of that actually happening during free dining and the week leading up to Labor Day? Is a standard room really going to be that bad? We loved our pool view last time, but not sure how much of that was really the view, or the convenience to the pool, the bus stop, the Mara. The hold up this time was no bunk beds were available and we had a split decision as to taking the two queen pool view vs the bunk beds at WL.
After all that with the room, wasn't quite ready to make ADR's yet when I was on the phone. Confirmed everyone's favorites and what new places they want to try, called back to make the ADR's and found out the phone line is not available 24hrs (not sure if I'm remembering incorrectly, or if something changed). Now I have to wait until morning.
This is apparently what happens when you make a spur of the moment decision to go to WDW after finding out on 4/15 that you are getting a refund as opposed to writing a check to the IRS!
I guess I'm just venting. Any words of encouragement are appreciated.

Is there another resort you might like that is there? just asking. Good luck
but, to me, it just seems like a few extra steps to walk to the pool, and besides, you are not in your room all day anyways, usually....that is just the way I look at it....
