I may have mentioned our trip last weekend was not too great

Mikeee,

We too were there this past week and weekend, worst weather ever in our 10 Disney trips. We got out yesterday morning and returned to New York with no problem, but I was glad we had an early flight. We were there Tuesday to Tuesday staying in Pop Century in 2 rooms that were never cleaned appropriately either. I stupidly did not complain, as I now wish I has as we love Coronado Springs!! My husband has said no matter what that this is our last value resort stay. I have to admit it, the values do leave something to be desired comparatively....

I hope you endd up enjoying your visit after all, we did in spite of the weather. In all 7 days, Monday was the only day it didn't rain!

A rainy day in Disney is always better than a rainy day at the office (unless you work at WDW). Sorry to hear about the wet trip, been there myself October 2002.

Mike

We did learn alot.
If it is always raining, pitch the camera and just have fun.

A little more than dirt cheap is a lot better!!!

My first trip with a tripod... and I forgot to turn off the IS. I was turning on mirror lockup, and using the timer to try and get rid of those blurrs.. grrrrr.

I must say I agree with the cleaning problems. We stayed at All star Movies & the cleaning was horrible. We had another issue & I complained about it & was told "well, 90% of the time it does ot happen this way" No I am sorry no nothing. What a pain in the A$$. Was not too happy about it. We stayed 6 nights & they never vacummed our room even 1x. Having 2 kids this did not impress me. Not sure I will stay on site again. I would have to say the hotel service was the worst I have ever had at any hotel. :( I expected better from Disiney & their magical world. :confused3

Seems as if there is a shortage of housekeepers at WDW. I read that they are offering $1000 signon bonuses for Housekeepers.

I am curios what the pay is for housekeeping CMs. It is a tedious repetitive job, similar to US postal mail delivery. If they can not find help it must be due to low pay! The lady CM who drove us to walgreens said she got three days of quick training. Then sent out to work. No helping someone for a few weeks to realy learn the job. That would cause lawsuits in my business, If my employees were not trained.
Sorry to hear I was not the only one with this problem,
Mikeeee

But we did stay at allstar movies march '06 with no problems...?

My friend is going in October & staying at Pops & I can't wait to hear if things are better at her hotel. Sadly I when I was there at All Stars there were 2 other ladies I met from the Dis group having the same problem as I. One even requested a vacumme & they actually brought her one & let her vacumme her own room with no apology. :( It was toatally pathetic. I also used the laundry facilities & they ahd 3 dryers not working. I had to wait more than an hour to wash my clothes then had to wait fro dryers since 3 were not working & the ones that were working you had to dry your clothes in them twice. At 2.00 per load that is pathetic. I wash clothes on every vacation since I have little ones & if I took them home I would never get stains out. This was also the worst experience I ever had with a laundry room. I would think a hotel with 9 buildings would have more then 1 laundry room too. LOL But hey live & learn next time we will stay off site I think. :sad2:

I some thoughts for those posters that are saying that they want to stay offsite because the mousekeeping was substandard - with additional problems with the laundry.

I know that most people staying at the all stars resorts are doing so because of the money savings, but I hear infrequent stories about how NICE it is, and hear lots of stories about bad service/etc there. I know, I know - it's a Disney resort and you should expect more of the mousekeeping. But it's a value resort. Yes, you can get the same price or less offsite but then you're likely to encounter the same thing - and also have to add more travel time into your day.

I'd say before you go offsite - pay a little more and try a moderate resort and see if it compares.

I don't think that I've ever heard anyone say "Oh, and All Stars Music is my most favorite resort on the Disney property!" :)

Mikee,

We were in POR the same time you were in WDW. Our room had cob webs hanging from the ceiling. I want to know where the turndown and chocolates disapppeared to? DD was rearended by a double stroller in the food court and ended up in the ER. Her foot was run over by a large person in a wheel chair. DH was cut off by poncho wearing kids on the run and ended up seeing the paramedics for bleeding and swelling goose eggs on his legs.
This trip was not the Disney vacation we were accustom to. Hopefully your wife is feeling better.

Ok, Marcie's back hurt a lot but you definately had more instances.

I can't decide, the heat was too hot for us, but if it ends up raining the whole week I would rather it be warm. WHen we were there last march it was beautiful shorts weather during the day but we got caught in record lows the first two night. By the third day we had brought long pants and a jacket.
