On Saturday, I tried out for my school's drill team, which is the dance team.
I made it!!!!!!

So my question is: I know there are a lot of cheerleaderers and band people, so are thre any fellow drill team members out there?

Just wondering!

thats so wonderful! i'm so happy for ya! my friend made our dance team for all four years, because she made it when she was a freshman so she doesnt ever have to try out again. she loved it, and im sure you'll have a blast!

Yeah, I'm glad I don't have to try out again! You can only be on it for 3 years at our school (soph-senior years), and you only have to try out once, unless you want to be an officer. Yeah... I'm sure I'll love it! The football games... ooh what fun! Hehe!

For the next two Tuesdays we have Rookie practice. (Rookies are the people that just made it...) We learn all of the fight song dances and stuff like that! Can't wait! Don't ask me why... it's just awesome!!

Tonight we had a Sister Hunt. All of the Rookies got paired up with a veteran, but first we had to find them. We were all given a nursery rhyme, EX. She'll be comin' around the mountain, or Row, Row, Row Your Boat, and we had to go around singing it until we found the other girl singing the same song. Yeah, stupid, but funny!

The only disappointment is that one of my best friends is really mad at me, she's on drill team, too, and she won't talk to me at all. Yeah... kinda puts a damper on all of it!!

I'm in band. Proud of it. I don't like our gaurd [or drill team or flag corps whichever you prefer] but not all gaurds are bad ours is just slutty

I know what you mean. I was in band for this school year, and now that I'm out, I'm an 'unofficial band nerd' !! At our school, most of the flag corp are 'not very lady-like' as our band director put it!

I'm in band...not that i dont like dance or drill team but our's really sucks so there really isnt any point in trying out... DHS?...what does that stand for?

DHS- thats a really fun game, the song one! omg im gonna go play that because im a DORK!

i'm not in band, but honestly EVERY single one of my friends are except the ones from other town that i know from drama...our band is over a hundred kids in it, so its like a family,e ven if im not in it LOL. i'm not field hockey and its impossible to do both.

Our band has like, 200 people in it, and our drill team is like really hard to get into. There were 66 people that signed up for it, and after try-outs, only 13 girls made it!!

Our gaurd isn't "very lady like" either. They sleep around with people. Our band only has about 90 people in it. We're like family, but there's a few people we exclude. Because they're jerks. [note: I punched a kid becuase he said he could beat my boyfriend up and he was talking crap and I got so fed up with it. I know it wasn't the smart thing to do, but I was mad!]
