WOW this is getting more and more interesting. We're not taking ME either because you hav to leave your resort like 3 hours early. What are you doing getting on my southwest flight! Just kidding, did you guys have that crazy awake guy who talks really fast? Although I'm going to Disney World, I sometimes find that he is just to perky when I got up at 2 in the morning to catch my flight! :goodvibes

hehe. there are some mighty perky people that early in the airport. there's one guy who works for delta (who has all their gates in the b-wing) if there's a gate change he gets on the PA and is like..

"GOOD MORNING! delta flight 2230 is now departing from BRAVO 6...That's BRAVO 6"

i hate him. he is too happy too early. :furious:

I hadn't figured out you live so close to the Berkshires, plus I have a DGS in your town; I'm not going to try to figure out how to spell that. We fly out of Bradley, on Delta - I wonder which costs less - as I'm halfway between both airports. Opps, off topic - but what the hey! :thanks:

Hey - I LOVE your report b/c I feel like it's us since we live in the Capital Region too - I love knowing all of the areas you are talking about. And we always go to the Coffee Beanery before our flight - so for our next trip over labor day to Virginia, I'll have to look for you!

Also, I know what you mean about Great Escape - we got season passes our first year here and never got them again. I like Great Escape but it doesn't take much to get bored of it quickly. And it's NOTHING like WDW.

YAY!! i love people who are from around here.

It's nice to know i'm not the only Disney-aholic in the area

Trust me, i'll be there when you leave! just let me know what the date is. I'm easy to find, i have a Lime Green Mickey Head on the back of my badge. :cheer2:

Yes Great Escape is a painfull experience for all us DISers. The sad thing is in the many times I've gone to get my theme park fix, I have yet to ride the Screamin' Demon. The "Coranado Springs Plunge"(Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad Name) and the Comet are about as good as it gets. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Do you know how hard it is to watch everyone else get on planes and you have to stay at the airport? Everyday?.

I told him if he didn’t get his butt up and get some of this luggage out to the car I was going to leave his suitcase and him behind, because I was NOT missing this flight.?.
A bit suprised that they weren't already placed in the car the night before! :confused3

The longest wait time I’ve ever seen at Albany International Airport is 15 minutes. And that’s when the queue line is full and the line is across the bridge to the parking garage. Of course I work there, so if you think we waited in any line, we didn’t.
Who knew that Albany airport Security had a FP?

TaraLee4 said:
I knew it was C2. I didn’t even check the board. Because flight 1153 non-stop service to Orlando leaves out of gate C2 EVERY morning on time at 7:30am. .
You are the FIRST person I ever heard of who pays any attention to all those Airport announcements! :rotfl2:

Did ya get the DING?

Chapter 4: Are we here? Are those the DISNEYWORLD ARCHES? I don’t know, I can’t see three feet in front of me because it’s raining.

Ahhh…when we last heard about us, we were attempted to get to Disney property via our cherry red convertible, which isn’t being converted because it’s raining.

Raining is an understatement. It was pouring.

So bad that steve (who was driving) got mad and pulled over for awhile because he couldn’t see. Me, I just wanted to BE there already. After about, oh, 15 minutes the rain lets up enough for steve to want to drive again. Don’t be fooled folks, it’s still raining hard. We pay all the right tolls and get off all the right exits. I think at some point we went under those “yes yes yes! We are finally here” arches, but I couldn’t tell you. I was too busy trying to read signs and steve was too busy trying to stay in his own lane. Apparently, this is type of rain is common in florida, because we were the only ones doing 40 in the 55.

So we made it. To the Pop Century. Which amazingly enough still didn’t take us that long. I had however, made the wrong shoe decision for today. Mostly I didn’t plan on having to run through a parking lot because it was pouring. Heels don't work so well for that.

Umbrella? Puh-leeze. Ponchos? From the mouth of steve: “I don’t melt. I’m not looking dorky with a poncho on. I’d rather get wet.”

So we ran inside. I had to stop before I went inside and refill someone’s refillable mug with water from my clothes.

Air conditioning + very very wet clothes + very very long check in line = COLD.
I was freezing. It wasn’t even that hot and they had the air on FULL BLAST. Just as I was turning blue, I was next. It wasn’t time to go to our room yet (duh. It was noon) but we got our room keys, hurrah!

So rather than go back outside to the rain, we decided to eat at Everything POP. It wasn’t too bad either. we scored our refillable mugs (I got the big round one, Steve the little one – the ‘cool coffee mug’ one) and we were impressed, especially for a fast food type place. Then, as the rain let up, we decided to chance running back out to the car.

We made it. Not quite as wet as before. And off we headed to Downtown Disney. Because it’s been three hours since I bought something! And I want to shop! (actually, we didn’t want to use a park day for 2 hours at a park.)

It was raining in Downtown Disney. And there were no parking spots. So after we cruised the parking lots several times, we finally found one allllllll the wayyyyyyy in the backkkkkkkkkkk.

Did you know that Disney doesn’t sell umbrellas? And it wasn’t due to our lack of looking either. We didn’t stay too long. A few hours. The world of Disney was PACKED. We didn’t even go in all the rooms because there were some you could fit into. I scored some postcards, a Mickey antenna topper (the black one with the blue wizard hat!), my pink princess autograph book and a pen.

That’s all you say? Yeah, no. wait till they get hundreds of bucks outta me. But that’s another day and another chapter.

We walked through most of the shops, not really buying anything else, because I try not to buy much on the first day. I was however encouraging Steve to look at and get whatever he wanted. Apparently he wanted nothing today. (which took me by surprise – he’s normally the spender)

So after a few hours we headed back to the POP. The rain had let up and the sun was starting to come out. We knew it was early but we figured we’d try the room anyway. We were in the fifties, the lady building. It’s here:

Surprise! Our room WAS ready. And SURPRISE!! Not only was it ready…we had a king size bed AND a free fridge!

HURRAY FOR HANDICAPPED ROOMS!!

A free fridge! I said to steve, “see this fridge? This is like 80 bucks of freeness. This is cool.” He agreed, mostly so I would move out of the way so he could check the soccer scores on espn.

I took 5 minutes here to set up my LGMHs. nothing too fancy, just like 20 in the bottom of my window and 15 on my door. the ones on my door liked to disappear.

I said I was going to explore and take lotsa pictures. He said fine, he wanted to watch some soccer. I was cool, he was cool, and off I went to take 900 pictures of the resort. If you want to see more (because I haven’t seen many on these boards) just PM me. I’ll be happy to send some.
Here’s a sampling of HOW FREAKING COOL this place is:

Okay. Where were we. Oh yes. After I took like 60 pictures (no lie. Who bought this digital camera for me? Oh yes, thanks Steve. You’ve created a picture-taking foo!) I went back to the room to find a fast asleep Steve. I woke him up, he wanted to change and we headed down to Everything POP for dinner. Mostly so I could refill the mugs, but we ate dinner there too. We browsed through the gift shop and walked through the arcade (more on that sucker later) we decided around 8 (because we’re losers) to call it a day and go back to the room. I set my much anticipated wake-up call for 6:55 the next morning, because we had to meet someone special at Epcot!!

Next up: can you say “free park passes?”
