I Made him go and he loved every minute of it...Trip Report, 6/13-6/20 UPDATED: 9/29

Great update, TaraLee! You know, WDW may not sell umbrellas but (because of my contacts on the inside) I do actually have two *official* Disney Mickey Mouse umbrellas that I plan to take on my trip. I am going to be extra special! I really didn't know they didn't sell them, so that makes it all the sweeter. Maybe I will poke someone in the eye!

DISUNC, you'd better hope it's not raining if I happen to run into you on that first/last day! :lmao:

Looking forward to the next chapter already!

Great report so far! Can't wait to hear more!!

My BF and I live in Schenectady too - we rent in the Stockade. :) We stayed at the Pop when we went in 04 and had a King Sized Bed handicapped room with a bonus fridge in the Lady 50s building as well - maybe it was the same room! :)

Do you usually work early mornings at the Coffee shop in the airport? If so, we'll be sure to stop in and say "Hi" on our way to Disney in October! :)

ANOTHER DISer in SCHENECTADY? holy cow! i really thought i was the only displaced person.

I'm always at the coffee shop in the morning, so feel free to come in and say hi. I have a Disney laynard and a Lime Green Mickey head on the back of my badge.

Chapter 5: Can you say “Free Park passes?”

The phone rings at 6:55. I was already up. Getting up that late isn’t something I’m used to, because I get up at 3 to go to work. That’s a whole 4 HOURS of extra sleep. I find it slightly pathetic, and slightly humorous. Because when I have a day off, I’m ready to go at 8..that’s extra sleep for me.
Anyway..
Steve did NOT want to get up. so I let his punk-butt sleep while I took a shower. But then I actually HAD to wake him up. I promised I would go get him coffee (heh. Heh.) And lay out his clothes and his medicine while he took a shower. So he rolled out of bed and FINALLY GOT UP. geez, he’s SUCH A DIVA.
Now while I may hook other DISers in the know up with coffee, I myself did not bring any. Because we didn’t have a coffee machine. So he was gonna have to suffer. I went down to Everything POP…in the sunshine. It was soooo beautiful. I was very glad it wasn’t raining. So, some coffee with more sugar packets than I care to count for him and a cinnamon bun (YUM) and apple juice for me. Or maybe it was diet coke. I did both, but not together. Either way, I went back up to the room and picked up my freshly groomed fiancé. It was 8 by this point (he takes a loooooooong time to groom some days) we needed to be outside EPCOT by 8:30. it was my turn to drive the convertible, and we actually got to put the top down! Yippee!! Had either one of us figured out how to get to EPCOT? Nope, we just went with the signs. We actually got there without incident, getting home is another story. We got a parking spot up close and off we went to sit outside of EPCOT.
Are we planning on going to EPCOT today? Nope. Actually we have ADRs for Crystal Palace at 9:30. so why are we sitting outside EPCOT at the entrance to the monorail station? WELL……
My dad. Has a girlfriend who is basically like my step mom. And SHE has a Mom who just HAPPENS to work for DISNEY. For about 18 years mind you. She offered to meet us before she went home in the morning at EPCOT, which is the closest park to her work and get us in with her special pass. She can get 2 people in for free. EVERYDAY. FREE PARKHOPPERS. Yeah! So Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (she doesn’t work on weekends) she offered to meet us and get us in! how do you say no to that?!
So after she arrives and meets Steve and we chat for a minute, we get our tickets and bid her goodbye and Jump on the monorail to the MAGIC KINGDOM. I Loooooooove the Magic Kingdom. Love Love Love. There are some of you who are going to think I’m a little strange (I mean, stranger than you already know I am) because my favorite ride in the entire Disney property is….
It’s a small world.
Sorry!
I didn’t think I would get to go on it this trip. Because Steve “DOES NOT LIKE THAT (EXPLETIVE) SONG!” I was a little depressed, but looking forward to eating at the Crystal Palace. So after I get my Pink/Lime Green bag searched and we feed our free tickets to the machine in we get. We grab some park maps and the time guide (which is a new invention since I’ve been to Disney last. What a smart idea for them, they used to put all that stuff on the map) and we walk under the Train Station. And I started to cry, which completely baffled steve.
“what’s wrong?” (he’s backing away at this point like I have a serious disease)
“I’m HERE. I’m at my FAVORITE PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE.”
“oh. Okay. Well can you stop crying? It’s freaking me out a little bit”
So I stifled my tears and took some pictures of my soon-to-be house (as soon as I can afford it.) Cinderella Castle. As we were walking mind you because we needed to get to the Crystal Palace.

We have a date with Pooh and Company.
And they give us the little buzzer thing and we sit in a corner and wait. And we watched a guy who had no reservations try to bump his way in front of everyone else. Those CMs deserve a raise for keeping their cool with that dude. He was MEAN.
Oh, and I took a picture of Steve, who wasn’t very happy to be sitting directly in the sun this early in the morning:

Our buzzer thingy went off and in we went. To our table for 2. I made him sit on the inside because I was supposed to be the autograph hunter. He was the picture taker. Except with Tigger. He wanted to get his picture with Tigger. Fair enough. And they were in the other room, so we got to get our food and eat it first. I plowed through my plate only to look up and find Steve eating…well…nothing.
“what’s wrong?” I asked, but the look on his face told me everything.
Steve has some disease, of which he’s still undergoing testing to figure out, which makes him throw up daily, sometimes more than that. The medicine he took before we left prevents him from throwing up most of the time, so he can eat. However, it doesn’t get rid of the fact that eating makes him Nauseous. VERY nauseous. And it hit him, here, in Disneyworld, here, in Magic Kindgom, eating with Pooh and Tigger.
I felt horrible. Because I know I can’t do anything to help. So he didn’t eat anything else. He said it was the eggs that set it off.

I didn’t eat the rest of my eggs.

And then we waited. And waited. And waited. Then FINALLY Piglet comes, then Pooh. We chat with them and they sign my book and Steve takes pictures. Then they had this PARADE thing. What was that? we just wanted to see Tigger (Steve’s favorite) and Eeyore (MY favorite)
10 minutes after the parade tigger makes his way over. I let Steve chat with him. I was too busy laughing.
“TIGGER! What’s up?”
*a wave hello by tigger*
“Tigger, you are the man! You are the absolute best!”
*hands over the mouth like a giggle and he bounces a little”
“I mean your movie? The best. Out of all of them. I was impressed, I hope they paid you well”
Tigger like Freaked out! Bouncing around giving out hugs. It was too funny. We finally got a picture because I had to stop laughing and on he went. It was so great to see Steve not act like he has to be cool and have a conversation with Tigger. I could actually see under the pasty white that was his face that he was having a good time. I was happy.
Then Eeyore came over. I got to chat with him while he signed the book and Steve told him that it’s not fair that everyone else got their own movies, he should have his own too. That we would be the first people in line to see it. I think we un-gloomed him, for just a second.

After we left, we booked it out of there…we had some park going to do!!

Up Next: It’s a small world? Will I get to go on my favorite ride EVER? Plus: Steve almost beats up Captain Hook.
