I Made him go and he loved every minute of it...Trip Report, 6/13-6/20 UPDATED: 9/29

Great addition! :thumbsup2

You made me laugh when you started crying coming into Magic Kingdom. I cry all of the time at Disney. My family has gotten used to it but I think my DBF is going to think something is wrong with me. A little OT, we went to POC:DMC last weekend and at the beginning they play Disney music and the castle with tinkerbell (the usual before Disney movies) and tears started running down my face. He just looks at me like I had a disease too! :rotfl:

Keep them coming! Write quick!!!!! QUicker!!!! QUickest!!! These reports rock! So keep them coming!!!

can't wait for the next update! we have CP breakfast on our schedule too! :cool1:

Great update, Ms. TaraLee! I'm empathizing on the sick man-partner thing. My DH gets food-triggered ill all the time. Maybe not the same thing as Steve's, but I know well the feeling of having to make adjustments because of his recurring digestive issues.

Looking forward to the next installment!

So glad I turned on my computer! :tigger: Thanks! :eeyore:

Great report Tara!! Keep it coming Fellow Limey!!

Hi Tara,
Fun report except for your poor df being off his fodder. We had a cat that looked just like yours - LION - lived to be 18 years old. Unheard of for a cat. We live in Schenectady county too - so I'll look for you at the airport soon.

Can't wait for more of your report.

We grab some park maps and the time guide (which is a new invention since I’ve been to Disney last. What a smart idea for them, they used to put all that stuff on the map) .
It has been awhile hasn't it?

and we walk under the Train Station. And I started to cry, which completely baffled steve.
“what’s wrong?” (he’s backing away at this point like I have a serious disease)
“I’m HERE. I’m at my FAVORITE PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE.”
“oh. Okay. Well can you stop crying? It’s freaking me out a little bit”.
Please This is understandable....I dated a girl who did this EVERYTIME she saw Little House on th Prarie!

Steve has some disease, of which he’s still undergoing testing to figure out, which makes him throw up daily, sometimes more than that.

Before we start: here's a picture of Steve and Tigger. Sorry about the quality, we took most of the character pictures with disposable cameras because the flash on my ditgial camera is intense. so this is a picture of the picture:

And we’re back. Recap: we’re at the Magic Kingdom and just finished eating at the Crystal Palace with Pooh and Company.
So next up, we’re going to do what any experienced Disney traveler would do. Head into Adventureland and walk into Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Duh. Why didn’t we run to one of the mountains and get a faster pass for another mountain you ask? Well, because. We didn’t want to. Ha. #1 on my list of Super park rules is: Do not run around on your first day. You will have plenty of time to do that later. (rule #2 is: do not buy anything on your first day. Except an autograph book, pen and postcards) Besides, Steve would just turn grumpy if we were rushing in the heat. Remember? I’m Wooing him into liking this place he thinks is just a “theme park”
So the treehouse it is. It did one of those “am I gonna rain, or not gonna rain” sprinkle things while we were in the tree. Apparently it was raining enough OUTSIDE the tree for everyone to don ponchos. Well, we’re sans ponchos OR umbrellas, so we’re a little damp as we head over to the jungle cruise. 10 minute wait. At 11:15am. Whattttttt? I was baffled. Anyway, I took lots of pictures of the jungle cruise. I didn’t say many were good, but I did get a few:

So after we jungle cruise, we start to head over to Splash Mountain which, up until this day I’ve never rode. On the way we pass the oh-so-not-open pirates of the Caribbean. Captain Hook and Mr. Smee are hanging out signing autographs. Well, I’m the autographer hunter today remember? So Steve says, let’s get in line. And we do. He’s got the camera all ready (the disposable which is why the follow is a picture of a picture.) and I’m NEXT!
So I go on up to Mr. Smee and the Captain and the both kiss my hand. Mr. Smee tries to flirt with me as the Captain signs my book. Then Captain Hook Starts flirting with me…until he saw my engagement ring! Oooooooh, he got MAD. He looked at Steve and pretended to take my ring off, put it in his pocket and drag me away.
And oooooooh, did that make STEVE mad. He’s mighty protective.
I was too busy laughing my butt off. After some bantering and pulling me back and forth, Captain Hook took the camera right out of Steve’s hands and gave it to the CM, who then took our picture:

capt1.jpg

We thanked the Captain and Mr. Smee and took off before they tried to steal anything else from us. Steve says, “let me see your autograph book”
I don’t even know what to say to this:

Steve has to go to the bathroom. So he leaves me alone by the pins and goes to the boys room. Apparently it takes him longer to go to the bathroom then it does for me to buy a haunted Mansion Pin. So, with new pin, and refreshed Steve, we head over to splash mountain.

It’s 12ish at this point. 20 minute wait for Splash Mountain. Woohoooo! We jump in line. Steve came up with this wonderfully annoying habit of asking a million questions about the ride while we’re in line. Never mind the fact that I’ve never been on Splash Mountain. He had to ask me at least 20 questions that came back with the answer, “I DON’T KNOW!” he’s mad we’re riding it anyways. He doesn’t want to get wet because
QUOTE: “I’ll just be stuck to myself all day”

Not only is he a DIVA he’s also a BABY. I told him it’s hot, he’ll dry. And so we got on. (we timed it too: 17 minute wait) I’m one of those people that gets Reallllllllly nervous if I know something is coming and they’re just playing with me till it comes. i was too nervous to enjoy any of the ride. I’m always like this the first time I ride anything I know has a big drop/is really fast etc. That’s why I ride them twice. So I can actually ENJOY THE RIDE. Well, I knew there was no second chance on this, especially if we were anywhere near the front of the log (which we were, second row) so I tried to enjoy it. I did my best.

We didn’t buy that picture. It wasn’t my best.

We did manage to get soaked. Well, Steve managed to get soaked, I got a little wet, mostly from sitting on the bench. He was NOT HAPPY. And he used some non-disney vocabulary to tell me:

“OH (EXPLETIVE) GREAT! MY (EXPLETIVE) BOXERS ARE GOING TO RIDE UP MY BUTT ALL (EXPLETIVE) DAY”

He’s going to hate me now that I’ve put that in here. But hey, I’m just trying to be factual. Now that Steve’s wet, we head over to Big Thunder Mountain. Another First for me. But I wasn’t waiting 55 minutes for that.
FASTPASS BABY!!
And we head over to the haunted mansion. Oooooooooooooooooooooooh. I said to Steve,
“you know if we get done here and we still have time It’s a small world is right under this…”
”ohhhhhh no. we talked about this. No no no. I’m NOT RIDING THAT RIDE.”
Dangit, well I tried. The wait for Haunted Mansion was filled with 50 questions that I could actually answer this time, and I got to point out fun things like the last gravestone’s eye’s open and look around. Speaking of that, there was a little boy right up by the door in front of us going “MUM! Her eyes opened! And they looked at me! MUM!” she apparently didn’t believe him. Steve watched and watched until just as we were passing, her eyes popped open! Yay!
Haunted mansion was fabulous, as usual. Oh, we’re doing wait times for this: 14 minutes.
No pictures here by the picture nazi. people were getting in the way of the headstones.
And so we went back. To mountain number 2. and we laughed at the people in the standby lane like we’re supposed to. And wait time? 6 minutes. Ahhhhhhh, fastpass.

How do you know the wait times still? Easy, with my state of the art blackberry phone, I saved them in my notebook. Ha!

So Big Thunder was impressive, at least to me, the non-rollercoaster chick that I am. It was also enough to give me a wicked headache because I was not sitting on the right side of the car because all of the corners threw steve into me. He’s bigger. It hurt a little.

And so, with no more to do, we head under that building next to the haunted mansion that takes us to…

FANTASYLAND! And there it is…the beautiful, glorious ride:

iasw.jpg

But am I gonna ride it this time? Guess you’ll have to wait and see!

UP NEXT: peter pan, pooh and snow white? No thanks!! Philharmagic, yes! Space mountain…well…..
