I loved the poly but Jambo house stole my heart! Dec 11 graduation TR!x2 7/13 COMPLET

We were going to ohana. A first for all of us. I thought we could save a little time since it was on the monorail but when we left I noticed a very long line on the resort side. Apparently, the monorail was having technical difficulties. The line was moving but I realized it was because people were leaving and using the boat. However, a train finally came and we made it to our ADR only 7 minutes late. We were seated very quickly. By the time I came out the bathroom our timer went off. And of coarse devyn had fallen asleep. I was really excited about this meal with all the good reviews and people seem to enjoy it. Since I was celebrating, I went all out and got a lapu lapu.

It was good but nothing I would pay another 13 dollars for again. As for the meal, our waiter was extremely nice. I really wanted devyn to eat something so I tried to wake him up. That was A big MISTAKE. He woke but was in a very bad mood. I will not do that again. He ate a few bites, cried, and fell out so I just let him try to go back to sleep. As for the food, mom and I did NOT like it. The bread was the best thing. The meat was tuff and the steak was not cooked well as we like it. The wings and noodles were not good because they were a little cold. We really rushed through the meal because devyn was having a fit. Im sure devyn acting out was my fault for waking him and put a bad mood on the meal so one day we will try it again and take our time and ask for more on the next time around. We took the monorail back to mk and got the bus to AKL. First, I wanted to show mom were we stayed when devyn and I were there in dec of 2010. I just showed her the building. I did not go inside. The following pics are from our trip when we stayed there the previous december since i did not make any during dinner

We were in Aotearoa and were upgraded from a garden view to a lagoon view, which actually happen to be an obstructed MK view

Look what happens when you zoom between the branches.

I did not complain considering a paid for a garden view with a 40% code.
We were back to the room before 10 and of course devyn was up and in full swing since he fell asleep so late.

Awww, I'm sorry y'all didn't enjoy 'Ohana and that Devyn wasn't in a good mood. I know how hard that can make it to enjoy a meal. :sad2:

Thanks amanda, we will be sure to try it again but probably not till next year. Now i know how other parents fell when their children act out. I felt so bad for the people around us.:guilty:

I think that a good dinning experience at Ohana has about as much to do with the atmosphere...company... server...where seated as it does the food. If Devyn was not in the mood, I can totally see how it would sour the whole experience.

Sorry to hear your meal at Ohana was rough. It's always hard when you're looking forward to a nice meal and your kids make it impossible to enjoy it. Happens to all of us, though that's never much consolation at the time.

So sorry you had a bad experience at 'Ohana. :( I probably would have done the same thing as you and tried to wake Paxton up, because I worry so often that he is not eating enough. Sorry you had to figure out the hard way, but I can tell you I am at least one person to learn from your mistake. If Paxton is sleeping when we go to eat, we will just feed him later!

SO sorry your evening didn't go as planned!

aww. Thank you!

He was so not happy but it is completely my fault for waking him up, especially since he had just went to sleep 10 minutes ago.

I know it kind of sucks but even though devyn is almost 3, im still getting use to this whole mothering thing!

I feel that way so much. Some weeks it feels as if devyn sleeps only at mealtimes and he doesn't eat enough.

Hi there! I know I'm a little late, but I just stumbled upon your TR, and I'm really enjoying reading about your adventures. Devyn is such a little cutie!

I'm sorry to hear that you had a tough time at Ohana. I agree that meals can be stressful if little ones don't cooperate. I've also found the food to be very hit or miss at Ohana, there have been times when we've loved it and times when it was pretty blah. I hope you get the chance to give it another try someday!

Aww Thank you! He is a cute mess into everything. :rotfl: Thank you for input. I hope that next time we can catch it on a good day!

Today my sister was leaving and TJ was staying with us. We woke up or I woke up to the alarm at 7:45 am. The morning was the same, get dressed, feed devyn, and take my morning pictures on the balcony. I seriously could not get enough of this.

Our park for the day was HS. We did not make rope drop but arrived 20 minutes after 9. We, of course, 1st went to get fast passes for TSM and we got a return time for 11:50 to 12:50. After we got them, we went to go in line to meet Phineas and ferb. Devyn actually likes that show and is currently singing or trying to sing the theme song when it comes on. I knew they were meeting at 10:00 and the last time I was there the line was always so long so we hurried over there and were the 3rd group in line. They managed to come out 10 minutes late and the line had grown by then but we were quick.

ry%3D400

And because Cars were meeting next door and there was absolutely no line, we went over there.

ry%3D400

This is when the rain started. It was very hard and makes me sad. However, we were leaving anyway. It was 10:30 and we caught the bus, not AKV, but to all star movies. We arrived and my sister was all checked out and they were in the food court. When it was time for them to catch magical express, we said our good bye's and we went back to HS with TJ in hand. We had already had him on our reservation before his mom decided to go so he was able to stay.
Our first stop was to use the TSM fastpasses but not before taking a few photopass pics....

We rode TSM. I did not play because I wanted devyn to. He would not keep those glasses on though but he was pulling the shooter at the screen.

ry%3D400

Afterwards, we walked across in the long line at the door to meet some of the boys favorite characters. The line was literally at the door. I do not know how long we waited but it was a while.

Devyn is at the age were he thinks he is a big boy and wants to do everything his big cousin does. So I got them on the rocketship.

Devyn followed

When we came out, we saw this wait time on TSM.

ry%3D400

Yep! That's over 2 hours. :( We passed on a second ride and moved on.

We only rode TSM once the entire trip because of those wait times. Luckily, we went with a fast pass that we got first thing...so hardly a wait. But yes, can you believe those times? We saw quite a few over 2 hours!!!

It's unreal how long the wait times can get for TSM! :crazy2:

I hope the weather cleared up for y'all that day!

Yes, we were lucky to get a fastpass too! I cannot stand still for that long!:hyper:

I really love TSM but not worth a 2 hour wait. This was suppose to be low crowd times. What happens when the crowds are high?:scared1:

We found ourselves over at star tours. TJ loved this ride the other day so mom and I child swapped this time, only to realize we did not need the child swap because the ride was a walk on. When they got back the 2nd time around it was close to 2:30 and we were hungry so we ate lunch at the nearest place, backlot express. Devyn and I shared the chicken fingers and got the marble cheesecake for dessert. Of course, I got NO pics again.
We were able to get seats next to a door where the parade started and no one is the corner but some Disney managers. We had our own little private parade spot across from where they do the Jedi training. I so wish I had a picture to show cause it was the perfect spot. So perfect that my mom stayed inside in her seat and saw the whole parade. They even piped in the music in there.
After we were full and the parade crowds were gone, It started to drizzle again. We made our way over to see the Disney junior show, followed by the magic of Disney animation. My mom is so great, while I was in the animation class drawing this baby

ry%3D400

She took the boys to see pooh, mickey, and the incredibles

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Devyn did not like the incredibles, he would not take a picture with them for some reason. We went back over to try again but he would not go close but TJ and I got some pics

ry%3D400

We soon left and decided to skip little mermaid this time and went to the great movie ride, followed by my absolutely, positively favorite movie and show of all time.
Beauty and the beast. It was ABC Family last week.! We got the last show at 5:45 and went to see the Osborne lights after that. Amazing, can you believe I have never seen them. It was quick though.

ry%3D400

We went to get the bus back to AKV. I did some studying for my boards while the boys watched TV. We went to Mara for dinner. I got the chicken Pita, it was soo good, I loved it. We also found out that I could get a mickey cookies and cream ice cream bar like in the parks for dessert. I decided to save it for later and put it in the freezer. I should have ate it then. We went to bed so we could get up early for EMH and our last full day.

You did a great job on Jimminy Cricket! I've never done the animation studio, so that might be fun to try in the future.

The photos of the boys with the characters are so cute!

I'm really glad that the weather cooperated and you were able to catch the Osbourne lights! They really are breath-taking, aren't they! :goodvibes

Thank You!Especially since my creative side is not all that great. It was fun to try. I ready to draw another character when i go back. The lights were beautiful! im glad we walked over there instead of leaving after BATB

I love how you can meet so many different characters in the Animation building. Reid was scared of the Mr. Incredible the first time he met him.

Love the Osborne Family Lights! :goodvibes
