I love WDW and DH can't stand it!!

resorts of vera beach and hilton head are part of the package.
What does he enjoy doing?

My husband doesn't care much for most of WDW and he usually doesn't go with us. This time he is coming but we are visiting St Augustine, checking out beaches, going to Universal and WDW. DH will totally avoid WDW except he might go to Epcot with us and he is interested in trying Boma and Cape May. He will likely check out the Universal parks but spend far less time there than DS and I will.

I give him his space to do his own thing and he's a much happier camper.

When I took my soon to be new husband to Disney in Feb 2003, I explained to him that how he felt about Disney was a potential deal breaker ;)

Well, he loved it, but not in the same way that I do. He loves the deluxe hotels and room service and all the special magic, and going to different hotels to eat, and walking around EPCOT. He likes the parks ( likes not loves ) and the fireworks and he loves seeing me so happy.

We returned to the world this past November, and that is when I discovered just how differently he viewed Disney. We went to the MK and I wanted to go on the POTC ride, one of myfavorites. He looked at me and said, quite seriously " But we went on that last time we were here!" Can you believe it?????

Well, here's the cure for that...next time he asks you to cook his "favorite" food...say, "But, you already had that once...how about some liver?" This also works for seeing his favorite sports team play, drinking his favorite "adult beverage", or wanting to own a DVD of a movie he has already seen.

;)

Beca

Since our one family trip, back in late '99, I have had 10 solo WDW's (11th coming up in a few weeks) and 2 solo DL's. :faint:

Great idea Beca, Thanks.

It will work for his favorite food...but he never watches sports ( for which I bless him, my first husband watched them all ) He seldom drinks ( could make a comparison there too, but it would be unkind ;) ) But just the food one will do nicely :D

Leave him home. Why does he have to come with you? My DH can't handle WDW more then every 5 years but I go twice a year. I'm certainly not going to stop going to WDW and I'm not going to force him to go. We take plenty of family vacations each year for that togetherness stuff but we also do seperate things too. I like WDW and he goes golfing quite a bit. It is wonderful to go without the spouse!

My DH is NOT a WDW fan at ALL! He would rather go to an antique show than WDW.....sure, he will walk around an Antique show, but not WDW! Well, I am going in 25 days, and about 28 days ago, he said he would GO! Blew me out of the water!:earseek: So, I ask him every other day, if he is still going, and so far, he said yes. (We shall see....):o

I usually do go alone, well DS comes too and we either meet up with friends or invite some to share our unit. But this time it was he who said he would come so he could see the Boardwalk and what DVC is actually like.

I've planned a couple of days at Universal and I've told him he can do anything he wants; even if it's hanging at the pool all day.

We'll see what happens over the next few weeks. But we did sit down and have a "heart to heart" lastnight about the trip, and all the other things he could do if he didn't want to hit the parks. And surprisingly enough, it did go alot better than I expected!:D

Again thanks for sharing your stories and offerings of advice. We'll see what happens!! ::yes::

I'm blessed that DH loves Disney as much as I do. I can't see vacationing without him. Vacations are "our" time.

Sounds like you are trying to make it a vacation you can all enjoy!
