Saw one of my favorites earlier with Rip the hound dog and "heaven's gate". Now if I can "Talkie Tina" my night will be complete! :thumbsup2

Too funny - this has become our NYE tradition! We stay up late and try and see how many episodes we have seen. Right now We Sing the Body Electric is on - about making a new mom for the kids and Talking Tina is coming up. Some of these are so awesome!

We bought all the seasons of Twilight Zone on DVD at Costco when they were on sale a couple of years ago. And here's a funny story...

About two years ago we were at a charity event that Jack Klugman attended & his son, who is a producer, worked on. The announcer said that most people above 35 would remember Mr. Klugman from The Odd Couple or Quincy MD... My DD & I looked at each other and said to each other 'well, DD's 16 & *she* knows him from his roles on The Twilight Zone!" Afterwards we did not get to meet Mr. Klugman but we did get to meet his son and told him what a thrill it was to see his dad & how the 16 year old knew who his dad was. The son then did a riff from 'Pip' and eerily sounded just like his dad.

This Christmas the family-member who we were guests of & who knows the son presented DD with the only known autographed still from The Twilight Zone of Jack Klugman (& Mr. Klugman personally signed it "to" DD).

Yeah, it was a cool Christmas.
agnes!

The episode currently on the west coast feed of the Syfy channel - "It's A Good Life" - has the same opening as Tower of Terror, except with a different background. At ToT he's standing in front of a "maintenance elevator", and in this episode's opening he's standing in front of a "map of the United States". In the ToT version they cut away just as he mouths the letter 'm' in "map".

Ooooh, it's the one with Anthony! I swear we have a kid in our neighborhood who reminds us so much of him. He even says things like "He is a bad dog, a very very bad dog" and we all hold our breath! Anthony is played by Billy Mumy who has a career now as a musician and is actually kind of good.

Saw that one earlier!

Its how I spend my New Year's Eve, too. And New Year's Day. I'm waiting for it to all be out on blu-ray before I buy any more of the TZ seasons. I'm still trying to figure out what WWE has to do with SyFy, though. I wonder if all their efforts to revamp/rebrand the channel to make it more 'hip' worked at all. I know it didn't for me because I just watch Twilight Zone. LOL

Jack Klugman is one of my favorite actors. :yay:

I used to watch "Twilight Zone" with my parents when I was a kid. Loved it then, still love it now and watch it whenever I can. I'm recording a few of the episodes today, someone said it's on tomorrow too and I didn't know that so I'll have to look ahead and see which episodes I want to record.

Some of my favorites are "I Sing the Body Electric", where they build a grandmother robot, also the mannequin that keeps going to the one floor of the department store and is looking for a thimble, the one where Inger Stevens keeps seeing a man hitch-hiking in her review mirror as she's driving, and many, many more. What a great show!

I hang my head in shame and will admit that I haven't tuned in ... Yet. I know, I know, things were hectic today (And ssh ... I was catching up on "The United States of Tara" on DVD).

I just checked the schedule and from 10 p.m. on (EST) they have some great episodes on. I always ring in the new year with the Zone. I've got my Twilight Zone Companion (An absolute MUST for the marathons) on the coffee table, all ready go.

P.S. "It's a COOKBOOK!" ;)

I'm still trying to figure out what WWE has to do with SyFy, though.

Yeah, what's up with this? I was all ready to finally settle in and watch the Zone and .... :scared1:

DH & I are watching. Seeing some episodes I've never seen before! :cool1: Happy New Year everyone!

I have been watching the marathon off and on today. I'm visiting with my parents and some relatives are here. We are playing some card/board games and we usually check to see which episodes are airing and we tend to watch our favorite ones.

Ooohhh, I forgot all about it, and I always watch it every year! :headache:

My favorite episode is the one where James Best was thought to be dead but woke up during the funeral, and then everyone starts to wonder about him. :rolleyes1

I actually used it in a class I taught several years ago, and the 7th graders were mesmerized.

We tivo the whole marathon every year then save our favorites to enjoy until the next marathon. We look forward to The Christmas Story, Twilight Zone and Honeymooners marathons every holiday season.

I always loved watching the TZ marathon over the 4th of July, but they seemed to have done away with that one. For some reason, the NYE marathon just doesn't capture me in the same way. Love, love, love Twilight Zone though! :thumbsup2

Talkie Tina scared me so much. *Shudders.* I'm glad I missed that one. :\

I watch the TZ marathon EVERY YEAR. My husband thinks I am weird for liking the black & white show.
