I love the 80's

I love the show!!! Especially Dee Snider's comments about Bon Jovi being the first metal/hard rock band to show their teeth. LOL

The show brings back a lot of fond memories, and some not so fond too!!!

I like this show too. My 12 yr.old DD watches with me and laughs at me. I graduated in '86. As for the big hair making a comeback. Cool- I'm a Jersey girl and we do great with the big hair.

Oh yes yes yes!! This whole series now lives on my TiVo, until I can find the time to transfer them all to VHS so I can have them forever.;)

Who had a Members Only jacket? :)
ALF!
The Keytar is another one that cracked me up, too!! :)

Look, my love of the 80s stems from the fact that I was but a child in the decade, uncorrupted by a world of bullies and vile people. I was innocent, I was young, my dad was still alive...

I'm sorry, julie_yet, but I have a sincere and honest love for the 80s that not many people have. To me, 80s music is the most danceable...to me, 80s movies and TV are the most watchable...to me, the fashions, hair, toys, musical instruments and all else were daring, unique and over-the-top.

Honest answer time: Would you prefer to listen to a hair-metal band that looked like women, or an alternative rock band that looked like a bunch of homeless, suicidal, heroin-addicted lumberjacks?

You may not like the 80s or feel that it has any worth (and that's what I'm gathering from your post, julie_yet), but I don't want to have MY chest branded with a Scarlet "E" merely because I prefer Tiffany, "48 HRS" and jean jackets with buttons of Anthrax members.

The 80s are a part of me...The part that contains my heart, my soul and my goodness. Please, understand me.

If this sounds too creepy or insane, please understand that I have emotional problems and I suffer from a mild form of autism, so it's rather difficult to "lighten up" on command.

Sincerely,

John "anotherboardnposter" Kilduff...

I love this series and watch it very time its on! I still love listening to '80's music and when my DD's school did an '80's day, I showed her how to roll the cuff of her jeans, shirts and flip up her collar. She doesn't have bangs, so I couldn't give her the "do". I have to admit that I wish some things would come back in style - although I don't think I could handle the high levels of Aquanet again for the hair.

It brings back "memories" I would rather forget!;)

But, I do love to watch the show!

This show brings back great memories for me!! What a great decade that was!!

anotherboardnposter-
You're killing me with some of your comments dude!! LOL!!!!
We all can like and appreaciate the 80's for one reason or another but you talk about it with such passion and according to your profile you were in kindergarten at the end of the decade. LOL!!!!
You must have been one of those 'old souls' as a kiddie. ;)

John, just so you know I wasn't trying to be mean. I'm not a mean person. But since there's no tone of voice in these posts sometimes things get misunderstood. If I did seem so I apologize. You just sounded so serious before that I thought maybe you were being sarcastic.

You've got me all wrong. I was also a child in the 80's and I love that decade. I have very many fond memories of it. I love the music and the television and the movies from it. I still have a Strawberry Shortcake mug from when I was little.
I just don't understand what a little silliness can hurt. My love of the 80's allows me to make fun of it. It's fun to look back and think "What in the world was I wearing?" and laugh over it.

I apologize if I offended you in anyway. It wasn't my intention.

Aqua Net...ahhh the 80's!!
I just won a contest yesterday on the radio and it was The Final Countdown by Europe and I had to call in with the name and artist....I told the DJ I was just talking (on here) about wanting the "mall hair look" to come back and he said he could hear the Aqua Net Spraying in the back....LOL
