I LOVE OKW, but...

Jaaron2, what resorts do you need to leave 1 and a half hours ahead of time to get to the parks???? I always allow a half hour, no matter where I'm going or which resort I'm staying at, and that includes BWV if I have to walk or take the boat.

Totally agree with this except for the times we have tried to get to MK from BCV or BWV and waited and waited and waited for the bus. It did take us 45 minutes from making a reservation for MM while in the room at SSR to get there to be on time and that did mean some fast walking at times but still not 1 1/2 hours.

I would totally give myself 1 1/2 hours to get from BCV to Narcoosee's if going by bus. First I have to wait for a bus to a park, and then I have to cross my fingers that there is a bus there that's going to the GF. Once I get off that bus, I have to get through the GF and out to Narcoosee's. If buses ran on a timed schedule, you might be able to do it in 30 minutes, but never knowing when the next bus is coming means you need to make sure you give yourself enough time or you'll miss your ADR. Personally, I'd drive to the GF, even though I hate paying for valet parking, which is another good reason to have a TIW card!

We own at OKW and BWV .. We LOVE OKW .. it's so relaxing and the size of the units really make us feel like we are at home and not in a hotel. We always rent a car and really don't care to be near the HH house so buses and getting to Olivia's or the main pool really aren't issues for us.

We typically book OKW when we bring guests .. however this year we booked BWV for our upcoming December trip. We are bringing family members who have teenage kids this trip and we thought they would really enjoy the BWV location and atmosphere. The kids love the thrill rides at the Studios and Epcot so being within Boat/walking distance will be a huge plus for them. So, for this trip we are thinking about what the kids will enjoy .. after all...when kids are happy the family is happy!

We like all the DVC resorts ..but OKW will always be our favorite ..

Dont worry me and my friends are trying to try BCV next year!! Im getting ready to go to OKW in 2 weeks!! Have fun in whatever you do;)

Typically anything that requires a bus trip we allow that much time (not syaing it always takes that much, but is has at times). If you have ever stayed at SSR getting anywhere via the buses from SSR can take awhile we have found. Also if you are going to another resort to eat it can require several connections, staying at the Beach Club allows you easy access to all the monorail resorts (which we tend to eat at a lot).
