We had a wonderful 6 days in Manhattan and we loved every second of it. Wicked was amazing, I could see it again and again. We did all the normal touristy things too including: Empire state building, ground zero, battery park, shopping on 5th avenue, NBC tour, Staten Island Ferry, American Girl cafe and shop, Mets game, caught a Daniel Powter outdoor mini concert (to be televised), had tickets to Regis and Kelly (fun!), roamed through central park and Strawberry fields. The subway was efficient, and the locals were friendly and helpful when we looked lost ;) . The weather was great for our stay (we arrived the day "after" the heat wave).

I have respect for the NYPD and the FDNY as we saw and heard them in action several times (Read about the injuries of a couple firefighters during our stay too). The Police were very visible anywhere we went. We always felt safe. We will be back!!!

Thank you to everyone who has given such good NYC advice on these boards! :)

Well you obviously did not visit the Times Sqaure area as you might have met me and your opinion would be different........ :lmao:
Glad you enjoyed NY
It is a nice place to visit!!! :rotfl:

So glad you enjoyed our city - we really are nice here - I am seeing Wicked in September and I can't wait!!

We loved the Time Square area! Was there several times. I could just stand there and stare at everything for hours!

imsorry-savor every second of Wicked. We are now playing the CD again and again. I think DD has it memorized! ;)

I work right near Times Square and I never notice it until I come in on a Sunday with my DH - then I feel just like a tourist!!! If you can come back again, you really should see the Wedding Singer - it is hilarious - we saw it twice!

Maybe I saw you!

A local woman we ran into on Wall Street(she offered to take our picture) said the same thing about Wedding Singer. DH and I promised each other we will go back one day, without the kids, and do more shows! :teeth:

So glad you have such a nice time. We are fortunate enought to hop the train and be there in 40 mins. My kids love it too. I love that they are able to experience some culture so close to home.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :) It is one-of-a-kind.

:goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed NYC! The Times Square area is my favorite. DH and I did more shows as out of towners than we did as NYers. We'll have to change that!
