Alright let's shake things up a bit on the CB...

Anyone out there actually ENJOY their MILs or any ILs for that matter??

I have always enjoyed the company of my MIL and SIL and BIL....MILs DH is a nice guy too..so i just thought i would start a GOOd thread about Inlaws! hahah!!!

not to worry ALL my FIL tales belong on the CB with all the insane stories! hahaaa!! esp. the ones about HIS wife   :sad2:

I always wanted a MIL I could love. Guess I wasn't as lucky as you! I do, however, absolutely adore my FIL. He is just the most amazing person. His soon-to-be wife is a really nice person, too. And my SIL's are sweet girls! I could have done much worse in the IL department.

I like my inlaws. They do drive me crazy at times, but overall they are great. It helps that they live 1000 miles away though. ;)

My MIL is a mother to me. His family is my family. They are the BEST second family I could've ever asked for. I never get annoyed with them, I love love love spending time with them. His mom has taught me so much. I can talk to her about anything. We live in a huge apartment complex and they live right upstairs from us so we see each other all the time. My relationship with them couldn't be any better.

I love my in-laws!!!!!!!!

I have to tell you about the WONDERFUL thing they did for DDs and me during the Christmas holidays!!!!
DH had to work so he wasn't able to travel down to Louisiana to see all of his family AND MY FAMILY for Christmas with our two girls and me. (We are both originally from Louisiana.) So instead of me driving the three of us down, DH decided that he would fly us. That would give the girls and me a little more time to spend with family there and also it would be easier since I don't like driving that far.
Well, we flew out Thursday, December 14. That day had heavy fog all over the southeast USA. Our flight out of NC was delayed about 2 hours. We had a stop over in Houston before flying into Louisiana. Well, because of flight delay from NC, our connecting flight to LA was missed. The airline rebooked us on a later flight. However, due to fog, that flight was cancelled. According to the airline, my girls and I would be stuck in Houston airport until SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (That would be two nights!!!!!!!!!) Well, I called my parents and my in-laws to tell them the situation. I was crying, the girls were crying......it was awful! I had never had that experience before. My parents suggested that I skip the trip to Louisiana altogether and just return to NC so that we wouldn't be stuck in Houston. My in-laws were so kind. They desperately wanted to see us so they DROVE to Houston (four hours) and picked us up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DH has wonderful parents. Yes, DDs and I had to wait in the airport longer than we had hoped, but my in-laws were wonderful and rescued us!!!!!!!

I have two sets of inlaws, I really like my Dhs mom and Stepfather, I enjoy their company a great deal. His mom is a sweetheart and his DSF cracks me up.

I love his Dad and stepmother too, but they didn't raise my DH (DH has a complicated relationship with his dad) and have very little in common with us.

WOW! that's a wonderful story!!!!

I got really lucky in the MIL/FIL department. My husband was not so lucky but at least we have his parents. My parents are my parents. I love them but they can be very strange. :)

I absolutely adored my IL's!! They have both passed on now, but I have such wonderful memories of them..

I love my in-laws,they have always treated me as one of the family. I love then like second parents. Also love my SIL and BIL's.One big happy family. I know I am very blessed.   :grouphug:

When they lived 10 minutes away, I'd have a hard time saying that. Now that they are a more comfortable 1.5 hours away, I'll say "yes!" Actually, they are good people. That will be my mantra for 2007.

hmmm...maybe if my FIL moved??????????????

nahhh..he'd still be the same person! :lmao: DH tries to limit his visits over there.

Ohhh i also LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE DHs grandma! she's like my own grandma that i have missed for so long after she passed away 9yrs ago.
