i love disney transport,am i sick?

Count me in with the sickos, LOL. I think Diseny does an amazing job of moving literally huge numbers of people around in a single day, in an extremely efficient manner. I always say many major cities' transportation companies could learn a lot from WDW transportation.
We almost always have a car while at WDW but we only use it when we go off property, change resorts or go to the water parks and sometimes DTD. We almsot always stay the bulk of each trip at BWV so we only need Disney bus transport for MK & AK, and of course our PI nights, LOL!

Count me in too. I just love the Disney transport. The bus drivers are so nice. Maybe it's because we are flexible but I have had some of the niocest bus rides mid afternoon returning from the parks with a bus driver who spends time telling you all about what is going on around 'the world'.
Why drive to a park then have the hassle of parking your car, riding a tram/ferry etc. when you are dropped off by the bus near the front gate?
Yes we do rent a car and use it for shopping-groceries, outlets, visiting other resorts, trips off property for meals etc.
But our main transport around WDW is the buses, ferries, monorail.
My favorite 'day trip' used to be the bus to MK, then the monorail to Epcot, walking through Epcot to the boat to the Studios and the bus back 'home'. At each park we would buy somthing or eat something or see a show we hadn't seen. My friend won't do that any more telling me that trying to ride all forms of Disney transport in one day is a bit nuts. So I'm nuts, what else is new? ::yes::

I love the boat ride to DD from OKW. When I stay at a mono-rail resort, the mono-rail is just fine. But the bus service is not for me. I have to tell you it starts with the buses themselves, then the long waits, and of course the long rides. I use my car and valet service when I am going to any of the parks. I think we are second class citizens when we have to use the buses. I don't go to places that treat me as such, the buses do, I avoid them. Disney should have thought of a better way to transport us then buses, actually they did, but then came the moderate and value resorts, and well the rest is history.

:) LOL! I also get a kick out of how many different forms of Disney transport we take in a day. So I am nuts also!! I love zipping around WDW via Disney transportation, it is like living in a big city/community that is totally magical and for the most part, hassle free! Once you basically get the "lay of the land" and which different forms of transportation go where; getting around WDW is a snap. I find it much easier and much more user friendly than navigating most major cities via public transportation.

We also like the Disney tranport system. But I think that DD & I are the true "sickos." About one month ago, we were walking into Target just as a city bus was pulling away. We walked right through its exhaust. After we got inside, DD turned to me and said "That smell reminds me of Disney World." I looked at her and said, "You're not going to believe this, but I was just thinking the same thing!" Now, how sick is that??

Count us in too! We use either Mears or town car service to get to and from our hotel and WDW transportation for every place else. We enjoy trying to figure out how to get from here to there using the transportation system and are quite good at doing so. No worries about parking, traffic, or as other poster wrote--boiling hot car interiors. We travel both peak and off peak seasons and use WDW transportation exclusively. Even when we drove and spent 2 weeks at WDW in 2002, our car never moved from it's parking spot until we were ready to head home.

This past February, we spent a day visiting the different resorts and often go to a new resort each day for a meal or just to walk around. All this with WDW transportation and our handy, dandy transportation map.

Thanks for the tips. There are only the 2 of us so Mears makes the most sense. I asked DH again today if he still wanted the car or to cancel and he insisted the car. I forgot about another issue. We were at WDW on 9/11 and we had rented a car which was the first time in many years as we were at VWL then the 3 day cruise, then back to VWL. Our trip was cut short and if we had not had the car we would have been stranded and unable to get home for who knows how long as no-one really knew anything for several days. DH says he never wants to be in that position again and having a car makes him feel safer even if we park it for the week. But I agree, you kind of miss some of that magic without the buses. We will still walk to Epcot and MGM or take the boat. But I kind of agree that MK and AK at the close is easier without the bus.

We do too! Especially since we can walk to Epcot and MGM from BCV. Once in a while there will be a long wait but I don't usually mind. Afterall, we are on vacation. Annmaire

I agree I don't mind Disney transportation. We drive down from Jersey the last thing I want to do when I get there is more driving. I find the buses relaxing we usually go during the off season so they are not busy. I have even dosed off on the way home.

btw, some of those 22 yrs were spent on a bus with convicts, it's nice to be on a bus that does not have wire across the windows and a cage around the driver, 14 spent wearing sergeant stripes responding from 1 troublesome situation to the next, last 2 spent in domestic violence unit usually responding to some place where some person, usually male, sometimes intoxicated just didn't understand that yes, the court really meant for him to live somewhere else for a while, and that means exile starts now, voluntarily or otherwise, so yeah it's nice to leave the logistical transport worries to someone else

but after driving for 24 straight hrs just to get to WDW the last thing I want to do is drive to the parks or to another resort for dinner.
When we get to our room my keys get tossed on the table and unless we have to make a run off-site for some reason they stay there until it's time to head home. ::yes::

Count me in, too! The transportation is one of the things that makes a WDW vacation so relaxing. It's one of the things DH always tells people when he's explaining why he'd rather vacation at WDW more than anywhere else. It's so nice to not have to get behind the wheel while you're on vacation. We just have the towncar sevice do the airport driving and let Disney take it from there.:earsgirl:

We take the auto train from Lorton, VA. so we always have a car. We use it when we go out to dinner at another resort. It is a real pain to try to take a bus. We also prefer to drive to Typhoon Lagoon. If we have an early morning PS for Cinderella's Breakfast we will drive (we love to go before the MK opens). The rest of the time we take the bus or boat...we don't mind the wait either. We are generally on "slow" in the morning anyway, and they are never crowded by the time we get to the bus stop.
