@Alexle2007 is it chase savings or checking your asking about? I did both - legit DD from work that posted quickly for checking. My savings just posted today with just pushes from cap one and Pnc. Fist push was in 10/11 from cap one so I think that’s what triggered it as they said 90 days to post. Now I’m going to move the cash (17k) back to a higher earning savings account

Lol still haven’t decided. My TA just quoted us $1800 to stay all 6 nights at WL. We’ve never stayed there before though and I kind of want to be in the Epcot area but that’s a pretty good price
What a great deal!!! I'd have a hard time passing this up. What about 3 nights there and 3 in the Epcot area?

Got my magical rooms at Pop. I didn't think to be suspicious of the even numbers in the quote and expect tax, but that's okay. We are still $20ish cheaper than the Preferred room at Music, and I'd rather stay at Pop. Renovated, I think ILs will like the mix of Disney icons and culture icons more than just music theme, and I'm biased because Pop was where we stayed on our first trip :)

The deposit was about $10 more than the Music deposit, and I already cashed out URs based on Music and accounting for discounted GCs, so I'm not going to bother to cash out another ~$7 in URs for the change. It just means I've done Disney math to make my URs worth 1.5 cents :rotfl: ($149 deposit for Pop, cashed out 9944 URs)

It's the checking account. I think I have the savings covered with the $10k transfer from Discover to Chase. I transferred $500 from Discover to Chase to see if that would work. The $500 has already posted to Chase. I just transferred $100 from my CU checking since the DP about Discover were not promising. My CU isn't on the list so I'll see what happens there. I think I can easily request to have $500 from my fed'l paycheck sent to Chase but I was trying not to mess with it if I didn't need to.

You know you have to leave $15k in the savings account for 90 days, right?

NVM: Just re-read and see that it was your savings bonus that just posted.

THANK YOU!! I appreciate the info! So, no way is a suite happening :thud: Usually two rooms are cheaper than a suite, ime, so that is okay. Our norm is just two standard rooms.

I'm not sure dh or I either one are eligible for the SPG lux...He has both SPG pers (1/18) & biz (3/18). I have the SPG pers (4/18), Marriott biz (8/18), & SPG biz (8/18). Maybe the Marriott pers for each of us? We currently have just over 300k Marriott (not pooled, atm).

I'm not opposed to opening Hilton if that makes more sense. I currently have no hilton cards and never have had any (nor dh).

I think (pretty sure) the Marriott personal is not an option for either of you. But your DH may be able to get the SPG Lux card? Sorry I can't remember if the other 2 SPG's knock that out.

Should I get a Hilton card? I have zero Hilton points...not even (gasp) a member of their award program.

@kmc8826 , IIRC you have an AMex Plat which (if you keep it) could benefit you since you're automatically gold with Amex Plat. Or...consider the Aspire which confers Diamond level status (and has a $100 lower AF than the plat) if you're not planning on keeping the Plat.

I haven't :) We have never needed passports so we will be excited to get those!

Aww, bless your heart! Once you get those, remember to use all of your Global Entry credit card credits to enroll in that (well, once they reopen I guess).

I apologize for the unsolicited advice, but @DisneyMandC , @Haley R , @wendow , @kmc8826 --please remember that the jet lag is REAL (I remember when John and Kevin did a Dreams Unlimited podcast about Tokyo DL and viewers were annoyed because they weren't enthusiastic enough-they attributed it to being super jet lagged). I've been to Japan twice and frankly hated it, likely because I flew economy (on y'alls tax dollars so thanks) and never recovered from jet lag. So please, especially if you're flying economy but regardless, read and try whatever you can, remedy wise, to mitigate it. It sounds like y'all are making trips of a lifetime and I'd hate for you to be disappointed. I don't want to sound like a know it all...but I've been there done that and didn't go to Tokyo DL because I was just too exhausted (and I was 22 and 24 so not like I was the old fart I am now:laughing:).

God Bless Citi! After denials on aa Biz from Barclays (for the 2nd time) and BoA (they will just not give me any card even when I had a checking account with a couple thousand in with them) I have another Citi AA!! I feel like I should label them Thing 1, Thing 2, Thing 3 and keep them as mementos of this beautiful time we live in...

Forever helplessly behind here I'm seeing bits of discussions of deals on vacations to the World and I'm running math trying to get myself (and my family) back to F&W in addition to my big round the world trip late this Spring. But then SWL is coming to DL and I have no love for SW tbh but I'm totally getting caught up in the "OMG NEW STUFF AT DISNEYLAND!!!" mania... I was going to go to Greece but that has been nixed as the travel partner bailed, love her but I should have known- thank goodness I hadn't purchased anything yet but it opens up some potential for Disney...

please remember that the jet lag is REAL....
Hahaha, sage advice! I remember back in college I went to China for a week & felt totally fine when I got back. TBH I felt like a BOSS. Pish jet lag! All of the sudden part way through the next day it was like a sleeping spell hit. I recall walking into my next class, handing my prof my homework and saying "I'm going to sleep now" and leaving for my dorm. Jet lag is real. (It was my hardest class, not one I wanted to miss. And that was back when I could do all nighters!)

ETA: I'm trying desperately to reformat this but it won't let me make it unclickable. Signs I need to go back to work I guess :(- BOOM! I WIN! Take that DIS IT!

Wow I didn’t know it was that great of a deal lol but that’s exactly what I was thinking. I’m just trying to figure out which 3 to do first. I’m thinking Epcot area first and WL second maybe

We are flying business class with lay flat seats. I plan to bring Benydryl or something to help me sleep. Thanks for the advice though! We aren’t doing Disney first on our trip so that should help

Amen!!! Definitely want to build in some time to get acclimated to the time zone. The other day I was emailing a work friend about something - in his reply he mentioned that it was 2am in Singapore and he was up doing work because his body was convinced it was daytime. And he had flown business!

I would agree on the jet lag. I was fine going east to Paris but it was a bit rough coming home to Seattle. Doesn't help that I didn't want, not needed to sleep on the flight since I wanted to be able to go to bed at the normal time but that meant I'd been up around 24 hours by the time I got home. That may have also been part of the problem. But I can take a red eye with iffy sleep to the east coast and be fine until bed time. I would just try and sleep on the plane even if you think you shouldn't.

We always stayed at WL when I was growing up and I LOVED it! DH and I went to eat at Artist Point during our honeymoon, and we both love the look and feel of the hotel.

I paid $1000 towards our September trip yesterday to finish off the CSP MSR, then cashed out 100,000 URs to cover it. No looking back now.

Yes! I am definitely keeping this in mind. We are planning to fly out business, if not first (I'm actually leaning towards business because first on JAL looks like DH and I basically wouldn't even seen each other for the entire flight haha). One of the reasons I decided on JAL instead of ANA is because there are a lot more JAL flights we can take, so I think I should have an easier job getting award flights with them than I would with ANA. I'll definitely be building in some additional time to combat jet lag on our trip.

LOL- I chose the single seats when DH and I flew to LHR on BA...because he can always sleep on the plane and without pretty heavy medication I can't (and ATL-LHR is just too short for med for me!). It was glorious! I didn't want to kill him as he blissfuly slept over the Atlantic-it was awesome!

Haha, DH and I are the opposite. I'll definitely be giving him Zzquil for the flight.

Thank you, my southern friend :D We just used our credits for pre-check lol! Int'l travel was not on my radar screen. But it may take me so long to figure all this out that we are eligible again:crazy2:

Appreciate the tips on jetlag! Dallas to Hawaii is the longest flight I've ever been on!

Hello Everyone! Remember me? I haven't been here for a long time but I wanted to post my appreciation to everyone who helped me score a fabulous WDW holiday trip! We recently returned from 10 days at WDW over Christmas/New Years!! It was mostly free on UR. I did have to pay a small cash balance because they ended the Chase/Disney program before my last sign up bonus posted on my CSP. Anyway, my family and I had an awesome time and we never would have planned that trip without all of you fine folks on this thread and everything I learned here. SO THANK YOU!!!!
