I love credit cards so much!

Does anyone know if opening a business bank account as a sole prop with SSN (for a bank bonus) would preclude you from a personal account bonus? I am really looking into bank bonuses this year but it doesn't seem like AL is eligible for many bonuses, so I want to be sure I am maximizing opportunities.

I'm thinking that a price increase at WDW is imminent, given the DLR price increase and the DVC news. Wondering what other announcements will be made in the next few days.

I was very disappointed when UR's could not be used to book Disney and still frustrated with the expedia change over, but right now I only have the trip in May to DL booked and no plans for any other Disney travel which is weird for me, really thinking I'm going to give WDW a break for a few years. Going to branch out a bit, need to get my to do list going as after my trip in May I have no other travel plans yet.

@PolyRob or anyone else who has been thinking of DVC resale...have you seen the news about more resale restrictions? Huge thread on DVC purchasing board. Now I am back to being glad I bought this summer...

Wow, thanks for posting this! I hadn't heard about it. I browse the listings looking for addons. I'm sure this will make resale values go down, which sucks if I ever decide to sell. But might make it cheaper to buy if you don't care about new resorts? I'll have to go read the thread.

I want to kick something.
I thought your resale was a while back? Will this affect you?

I needed another contract but I wanted to wait because I was annoyed at the 2020 point reallocation. Now I have to go ahead and buy or my points will be split into "usable for all" and "usable at the old only."

It is a first world problem of course. But it is sad to see so many changes like this.

I have an AMEX Delta, and DH has an AMEX SPG (has 100,000 points on that SPG)
We are thinking about our next trip, which could involve some expensive airfare. It would be nice if we had enough Delta points to at least do a Miles-and-Cash.

My DH had cancelled his Delta card almost a year ago.
Has anybody here had any luck getting a new Delta card, with the intro miles, in this type of situation?
I know that these credit cards are really cracking down on holders who seem to be playing the perk games.

He does still have the AMEX SPG, so he hasn't cancelled out all AMEX cards.
I wonder if maybe he were buying an expensive Delta air-fare if that would make the more likely to do another approval when purchasing?
(Then he could buy his ticket when the intro miles post.)

Any insight would help!

I am so with you. Disney's greed is really bothering me. My dd18 is hoping to do DCP later this year. If she gets in, yep, we will be there. Probably a lot. If she doesn't, I have still promised one trip this year to wdw but I really want to branch out from Disney. I have no Disney plans for 2020, and I think I am actually very okay with that.

So for someone who is good staying at the 'older' resorts, then resale is still good for them? You could still stay at SSR, OKW, BWV, BCV, VWL, BLT, Poly, VGF...just not any of the new ones? Not looking to buy ATM, simply curious.

I may not be remembering correctly, but I thought the last WDW price increase not that long ago, when they put out the tiered pricing, was only an increase there and that nothing went up at DL at that point. Which would put this one in sync with that one. Just have to hope the usual Feb increase doesn't happen as well since they already raised WDW twice last year.

I have a trip in August and then it won't be until 2021 at the earliest. I would like to see stuff for the 50th and everything new that has opened. Otherwise I think it's even more time to go to the Asian parks or back to DLP because at this point it's the same price for or at least new and different and the distance and other countries make it worth the price/points/miles used. Though I would still like to take a proper trip to DL since I've really only been to each park for about 6 hours each and that was back in 2001 (DL) and 2004 (DCA). But at least with DL it's easier to do it for less with the off site hotels being so close and walkable.

Amex only allows a bonus once. So you would need to sign up, or if he had a personal one go for a biz or vice versa.

Yes but you've got to worry about the value proposition of your contract. The extra perks that you get with a blue card (direct) points don't mean much. Not being able to trade into all the properties is really a big value blow. As it stands Disney contracts are really worth a lot of money. Not like any other timeshare. Keep up with stuff like this and the points won't be nearly as valuable. That's problematic when it costs, say, $15k for a DVC resale. It's not like most timeshares you can buy on eBay for a buck. Really concerning stuff.

I really should start pricing out a trip to DLP or one of the Asian parks. Still Disney, and I'm not wanting to give them any money, but maybe we would get more out of it.

I loved DLR and felt there was more value simply cause you could go back and forth between the parks so easily, and stay at a less expensive offsite hotel so easily. I used UR's for our Hojo room but pretty sure it was like $200'ish a night for a room that slept 8, was newly updated very nicely, could see fireworks from our balcony and walkable to the parks. Find that at WDW. Ain't happening! I'm just floored at what WDW is trying to charge for the values these days :sad2:

Technically Tokyo Disney isn't owned by Disney so you wouldn't have to feel so bad going there

Which airline are you looking at for Australia using MRs? I’ve been accumulating them for our hopefully 2020 trip, if not then 2021. But not clue how to use them. We flew Quantas on first time there.

I am really behind and having a hard time getting caught up so you may have moved on...

I am in the midst of planning our Australia trip, have flights mostly finalized. I had the grand plan of transferring to Qantas, but I had to sign up for Qantas to be able to see point requirements. Once I signed up, I discovered that for the flights I was looking at anyway, the Qantas points required were waaay higher than AA. So my advice would be AA points for sure for Australia. (The flights are obviously on Qantas still, just booked on AA site.)

Most of the flights I have looked at internally have been 10k economy which I think is pretty good. We also got flights from NZ to Alice Springs (in the middle of Australia) for 15k which I was happy with too. Although we only fly economy so your situation might be different.

I would definitely suggest signing up for a Qantas account and playing around with it though because I was sort of surprised that the amounts seemed so much higher.

So Dh and I haven't quite decided on the BOA Premium Rewards card yet. We're most hesitant about the fact you can't PC to a no AF card. We understand it comes with a $100 credit for airline stuff, but don't think we will really use that.

So cancel in a year. That’s our plan. In fact it’s this week or next we need to cancel.
