I love credit cards so much!

I think she may want to try the discover card first. I believe @wendow told me to get DD that one for a year and then the CFU as that was how her DD did it.

Thanks. She does have her own Visa already, and has used it responsibly for 2 years. DH thinks he might have locked her credit and that could be an issue. We're looking into it.

Does that mean you went for it?? The Chase credit journey will show the number of open cards you have in the last 24 months, but if you have opened and closed one that will still count against you but not show up in that number. That is probably your issue here. Sorry!

Haha no. Not yet, anyway. I'm hoping a few more people will chime in on the Hyatt one since we do have a few days to think about it.

I just had a look - showing standard King and Queen rooms for 30,000 pts. Didn't even login to my account so not sure why you can't see it.

I just did the same thing and checked without logging in and saw the 30,000/night. But when I’m logged in it shows unavailable.

2queen room is available for 30k/night or $127/nt with the MVP rate code.

ETA: I know this thread is about using points, but I always compare this rate code and decide which to use. For ex, we have a hockey weekend coming up. I could use 25k points per night or with the MVP rate $88/night. I went with the cash rate for that stay. Here is the link:

I didn’t know about the mvp rate. Thanks! I’m working on my own spreadsheet today with cash valuations for my different points. Fun thing to do while I’m resting with a bad cold. That’s very helpful.

Thinking I probably won’t pull the trigger on the 1:3 transfer of MR to HH pts since it’s not really a sure thing for us right now with using points. We’re definitely going (got the plane tix), just not sure on the use of points yet.

I’ll also be looking at rental cars too which I don’t have a ton of experience on. Thinking that the CSR is the best card for that.

Oh, so it was not the Hyatt. Just wondering if you know her score and what you put as income? I was thinking about having DD apply for this soon. She did get the Discover this summer.

I think income was under 10K (don't quote me on that one) and score is high 700s. I was thinking those 2 numbers could be an issue.

So good their house is fairly accommodating, may are not. My sisters house has no bedrooms or full bathroom on main floor. Just a powder room. My mom stayed with her after surgery and it was very hard.

Our house is like that. We didn't think it would matter too much since it was a "starter" house, but with the prices around here it's our forever house unless we move to another state. :( It's very problematic in these circumstances and my older neighbors are all adding a small bedroom and full bath to their first floors.

I once got this message from Chase for address verification reasons. Maybe there's hope.

Thanks. I am hoping that if they talk to her it'll all be good. Nothing horrible if she can't get it, she has our Plat and Disney Visa and her own Visa, but she wants to build up her own credit and points account.

More options to debate does not help me. Now I looked at my Doubletree reservation by Universal... right now I have a King Universal view for 30k points, now they have 2 Queen non-view rooms for 27k points... or this magical MVP rate is $95 per night ($320 total for 3 nights). Is the MVP rate excluded from earning points, etc like most hotel programs?

I work at a hospital and a social worker once told me always make sure you have a bedroom on the first floor as you wouldn’t believe how many older folks end up sleeping in the dining room. Our house is on me floor, but it’s a bungalow and up about 8-10 steps. Our next house will be a ranch, my knees can’t take the stairs

So, DH applied and got the SW plus while on-board a SW flight earlier this month. We just got the card but no promotional material came with it. Would you recommend he call to make sure the bonus is 50,000 pts or do you think thats overkill? Also, the MS is $1,000 in 3 months correct? That's what I'm finding on the Chase site. I wish this info was included in the material sent with the card.

We lucked out and our builder’s “oops” turned into changing what’s was supposed to be a 1st fl powder room into a full bath. He was supposed to put our basement walkout on the far side of our house but put in on the garage side and since at the time we were thinking we wanted a pool, he added an entrance door through study/bedroom and the full bath. And it is so much easier having the basement walkout on the garage side so it was a win-win for us! He didn’t even charge us extra for the “oops.” That’s why small builders are AWESOME!

Thanks. Ugh. It's for DD. She wants a CC other than the one she has through the credit union she banks at. I guess we could try to get her to call about it. She's a student with a pretty low income that varies greatly (summer of course is when she makes most of her money) but she is very fiscally responsible. I thought this was the "starter card" so I suggested she try it. I think @wendow's DD was approved for one. I'm wondering if we did anything wrong.
My dd was approved for the CFU but as @disneymagicgirl mentioned, my dd had gotten the discover first. She got the discover right when she turned 18 and about 6 mos later went for the CFU. I put 3k for my dds income which is much less than she actually makes. I think see what the letter says and then have her call. It could be simply ID verification or chase wanting paystubs.

Another churn-ish question for you experts if you don’t mind...

I got CSP September of 2017. When (if it’s even possible) can I get the CSR and receive the welcome bonus points?

Do you already have the CIP? If not and you are looking for a card with a nice UR bonus, it’d be one to consider.

Thank you for in the tip! How likely is one without a business to get a CIP card?

ETA: DH has a SW business card if that makes a difference. I was unable to get one though.
