I love credit cards so much!

I was on the Hyatt website looking at a hotel in NM, when this popped up regarding the Chase Hyatt Visa:

Last Chance! Earn up to 60,000 Bonus Points. Offer ends 1/9/19.

Anyone have any idea if the card bonus will change in a week? DH wants the card but can't get it until April. I could grab it now if necessary, but was hoping to get a CSP in January.

I had an email about this today too. I have FOMO for sure, because those Hyatt points can really stretch far.

I am pretty sure the offer is ending...I can't remember which blog but I did see something about its possible end sooner rather than later earlier this month.

I have one and have been thinking of getting one for DH. I was waiting though since I want us to have similar renewal dates (I got mine in February). Since Disney is gone and the UR portal is not great I have been pretty much either cashing out my UR's or sending them to Hyatt. Unless you need the travel portal and that is why you were thinking of the CSP I would get the Hyatt before it. I agree the Hyatt points go far...staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui last February it was 20k a night for a room. Since it was an all award stay only out of pocket cost was parking (no resort fees) and they upgraded our room from the standard. You can stay at the Hyatt House chain for 5k a night!

Nope, when I select the CSR (which has offers that show on the main screen) no offers so up in just that card. Are you apple or android? I wonder why yours is different?

Android user. My IHG has no offers. I have offers for my CSR and Freedom and oddly, my closed SW card that refuses to disappear.

Always interested to see what cards people are using regularly.

My regularly used cards these days include the pink gold Amex, Arrival+, Target Red Debit and now Amazon biz in my Amazon account only.

I do carry my Amex plat to be fancy, plus my Chase debit and my HSA card but I need to put that one away. I'm streamlining and getting more simple in my old age.

CSP
CF
Amex Everyday
Discover IT

Anyone have a resource for getting started with MSing? Baby steps b/c I am a scardy cat?

I would love this information too! I made an attempt last week and failed miserably and have been too busy to research/ask for help. I bought a $150 prepaid Visa card at Dillons (Kroger), made sure it was active, then tried to use it to buy a money order at the same store. It was denied though because it went through as a credit, the cashier said it could only be a debit. I figured I'd give it a try for a small amount that wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't work.

I've been trying to distract myself by reading online today, when my phone is not beeping with texts.

This morning my daughter and family were in a pretty bad car accident in Colorado. They've all survived and no one is currently critical, but lots of broken bones. Both of the cars look totaled. My ex went to the scene and sent me the pics. Daughter called me before help came and there was barely a signal so it was pretty scary.

Youngest grand daughter just had a cat scan and they are getting ready to do an MRI of her C2 neck bone. She was on side of the car that was hit but of course she was in her car seat in the back. Older grand daughter has been released, but Mom, Dad and youngest are still in hospital. Dad is in surgery now and has multiple broken bones but is not critical. He was airlifted to the hospital and Mom and 2 daughters came by ambulance. Mom's ankle badly broken.

Yesterday it was pictures texted back and forth of everyone having a wonderful xmas with our Colorado family, and today is not so great but I'm thankful everyone survived and will recover.

The other driver also survived, and I'm happy for his family.

I know this reply is almost a day late, but how terrifying, I'm so sorry. I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers

Is there a good way to get another Arrival + card without adding an AU for my DH's account? It would help us meet the MSR if we both had cards, but don't want to add me as an AU. Does the same method apply as Chase with adding an AU with a very similar name/birthdate as the cardholder?

Quoting myself to see if anyone has any advice on this? Thank you!

I have some award nights that *should* be coming up with SPG/Mariott. Wondering if anyone knows how they post. Anniversary date on DH's Pers. SPG is 1/15/18, then I have a Mariott card I signed up for in January '18 as well, can't remember exact date. We need a one night stay Jan. 5th on our way to Disney. I'm wondering if they'll post the 1st of the month. I'd like to use them instead of points. Gaylord Palms is 35k points so I thought that would be a fun little surprise.

My Marriott Premier had its anniversary on Xmas day and that's when it posted. Right on the exact date. The SPG nights are a new thing and daughter got hers 2 months late in October. Not sure if that will/is continue as I haven't heard other DP's.

so DH hit the spend and got the 100k Hh points in his acct.... but I still haven't gotten the 20k referral- should I call?

got to finish Dh's 2 SWA MSR's up and then back to the usual combo of CSR/CF/CU and discover for bonuses....

I don't know the answer about AU's with Barclay, but maybe you could have him request another card "as a backup" and then use that one. I've used my kids' AU cards at stores without any issues.

I’ve gotten down to 3 unless I’m doing MSR.
CIC in case I run into gas station (2x)
CSR for travel or restautants(3x)
DHs CFU for other things (1.5x)
Others are in the drawer unless I’m using them for an “offer”

CSR: travel and dining
CapOne Venture: everything else (working on MSR), but even after MSR it may replace the CIU, haven't quite decided yet
Discover: just put it back in my wallet for groceries in Q1

Not in my wallet, but regular use:
AmEx Everyday: for offers, only put it back in if there's a brick-and-mortar offer
U.S. Bank Cash+: 5% utilities

For DH:
Costco Citi: food, gas
CFU: everything else (he wrote no food no gas on it, lol). KISS (keep it simple..)

@Judique You're in my thoughts. Wishing everyone a speedy recovery. What a scary, scary thing to happen, especially with littles.

@MrPTato I'm sorry for your loss. Your post made me tear up. So beautiful and bittersweet. Treasure the memories.

DD applied for the CFU and got some message online about them needing more time. Can someone let me know the number to call to follow up on cards? TIA!

Hmm. I might have to apply then. We wanted to wait because DH wants that card. All the URs (that we can use to transfer to Hyatt) are in his account. And all of our previous (and upcoming) Hyatt stays have been booked with his Hyatt membership number. I was hoping he could get it when he drops to 4/24 but it looks like we can't wait if we want it. :( I can get it in my name, but it just makes things complicated.

It does have to be a debit card. Does the gift card you bought have a pin? When you swipe for the money order, you should be prompted for your pin at that time. Not sure how/why yours ran as credit. Unless you bought the "wrong" type of prepaid Visa; it should say debit somewhere on the packaging. At Kroger, I've bought both the loadable (up to $500) Visas and also the $100 fixed amount Visas. Both have worked with no issues. I typically call the number on the back of my card to change the pin to something I'll remember.

It did prompt for a pin but the one I bought didn't have one. So I need to look for a Visa debit? I was so confused when I went I wasn't sure what to get and just picked one.
