I love credit cards so much!

Your Chase IHG? I don't show any offers on my chase IHG. When I check in the app the only cards that show for rewards is my CSR, and my debit card on my bank account. How do I get my IHG to show?

Totally silly question but the IHG card itself shows in the app, right? Have you tried selecting that card and then scrolling to the bottom, past the transactions, to see the offers section? The offers section should be there even if there are no offers for it. Mine was listed in the drop down but it took a while before any offers showed up, and once they did I haven't had more than 3 listed.

For the PNC bank bonus, I see that Discover ACH is listed as working for DD. Does that mean that I push the Discover to PNC or do I have that backwards? I figure I could try that before messing with my paycheck to send a real DD.

The last 2 DP's on DoC actually show it as it didn't work. I think they are correct as my push from Discover savings showed up as the "ACH WEB PAYMENT" transfer type, rather than the "ACH CREDIT" type that shows up as a Direct Deposit. Transactions that are "ACH CREDIT" definitely trigger the bonus, but most DPs say "ACH WEB PAYMENT" don't.

But you are correct, you'd setup the transfer through Discover to push it into the PNC account.

I have some award nights that *should* be coming up with SPG/Mariott. Wondering if anyone knows how they post. Anniversary date on DH's Pers. SPG is 1/15/18, then I have a Mariott card I signed up for in January '18 as well, can't remember exact date. We need a one night stay Jan. 5th on our way to Disney. I'm wondering if they'll post the 1st of the month. I'd like to use them instead of points. Gaylord Palms is 35k points so I thought that would be a fun little surprise.

The SPG nights haven't been showing up until 6-8 weeks after the anniversary date, so I wouldn't expect that night until Feb/Mar. The Marriott nights have been showing up within a couple days of your actual anniversary date. So if you did it early in January, that's a maybe for the Marriott card.

Went ahead and grabbed the Amazon biz card (Amex). Didn't even unfreeze my credit - so there's no pull for sure. $125 amazon gift card for no spend, no effort, no pull = pretty good deal. I probably will use this card for all my Amazon spend now. 5% cash back is darn good.

I need a new cell phone so the gift card will come in handy.
ooohhh, I need to get this for DH. He is the king of impulse spending on amazon.

Always interested to see what cards people are using regularly.

My regularly used cards these days include the pink gold Amex, Arrival+, Target Red Debit and now Amazon biz in my Amazon account only.

I do carry my Amex plat to be fancy, plus my Chase debit and my HSA card but I need to put that one away. I'm streamlining and getting more simple in my old age.

Right now I have the Amex Gold for Groceries and dining out. I’m using the Barclay Arrival+ for everything else since I’m working on MSR on that.

SO has the CSR for trave (metro card) and dining. The Blue Business for everything else and the Freedom Unlimited if they don’t take Amex.

AmEx BBP unless there are offers on another card. We've got 3k of spend to hit and without a home improvement project or an appliance breaking down, it's going to take all our spend to hit it. I see that we're going to be boring for the next year; probably one card at a time and move to the "always be MSRing" camp unless something miraculous happens. Le sigh.

Before that we were in Discover IT first year so anything without an offer or bonus category went on that for 2% back. Now I think anything without an offer or a 5% category will be going to MSR. I don't even use my Target RedCard anymore. I've been able to get GCs for 10% off or better so I've been using those all year. In fact, they sent me a letter asking if I had lost the card since I hasn't used it for months. We have a charge on it now because hubby doesn't like carrying GC's around so he had to stop the other day and used it. He told me he was just letting them know that he hadn't lost his AU card either

Well you can guess who we root for in this house ;) We're hoping my son is the next Dylan Larkin (who grew up where I'm from). Played for USA u-17/u-18 (hoping the fact the USA team is now based in our hometown will help, LOL. I used to team the USA boys when they were based in Ann Arbor, and I know some boys made the team just because they lived in Ann Arbor. If a kid got hurt or in trouble and they needed to replace them, they looked local). From USA he went to Michigan (Go BLUE!). He was drafted by the Red Wings and after his freshman year at Michigan the Wings wanted him. 19 and playing in the NHL......kid has had a great life, LOL!!! Of course I'm shooting for the stars with all that, LOL. I'd be happy if he can make a travel team again next year to start, LOL. Then we'll work on his highlight reel for recruiting (he's 9, LOL).

But yeah, we're a hockey family here. My son stood no chance! I didn't want a son (I teach mostly only HS boys...I know what they are like away from mom and dad, LOL). But I said if I ever had one, he was playing hockey. He was on skates at 18mos, in lessons at 2 and on a mini mites team by 3. Luckily he likes it, LOL.....in fact he's off at drop in hockey with his dad this morning, and has practice tonight.

My DS9 plays travel hockey here in Nashville. Just since he has been playing (age 4) the sport has grown a ton here, but I am sure is nowhere near what it is like where you are. My DH won't admit it, but I feel certain that one of his hangups on moving back to Charleston are the very limited hockey opportunities our son will have there. We had friends there who had to send their kid to live up north with another family to play at a more competitive level. I can't imagine. :( My DS eats, sleeps, breathes hockey, so I hate for him not to have a decent level of competition, but I also hate to not move home.

-I’m looking forward to dusting off my Amex BCP (the right acronym I hope?) for the 6% off groceries in January. I hit the $6000 limit last July and haven’t used it much since. I get FULL use of the 4x fuel points on gift cards at Kroger, so it’s been pretty easy to hit that limit. Not as sure now that I won’t be buying Disney gift cards. Might start a small stash of Airbnb gc’s though

-Been using the Hilton biz lately for most stuff to meet MSR

-CSR for recent travel and dining out

-P2 is still using his Amex plat for pretty much everything even though we met the spend almost a month ago, just because I haven’t had time to work out a plan and tell him which card to use when.

@Judique I'm praying for your family. So glad the injuries aren’t critical but sounds like a long road ahead to complete recovery. It could have been so much worse. Thanks for sharing the updates. Like others have said, another reminder how fragile life is and how things can change in an instant. :grouphug:

@MrPTato So sorry for your loss. Wishing peace and comfort for you and your family.

I have almost every card we own in my wallet because I am the one that runs around redeeming the various amex/chase offers. I swipe Costco for gas, now BBP for non cat if no MSR, copy of DH's CSR for dining out, CF for 5x category, and whatever MSR for non-cat spend.
DH only carries his CSR but he has the work travel so it works well. I adjust his hilton account to use whichever card is best at the time...usually Hilton biz, but sometimes I need more URs so I switch it to CSR, or if there is an amex offer to redeem I load one of those cards.

Hilton Aspire for MSR, Amtrak World card for places that don't accept Amex, debit card when needed for cash, Target Red Card.

MSR card will cycle in and out.

Thanks, maybe I’ll try from my credit union account instead. It figure it can’t hurt to try. First, I need to lower my cash advance on the Arrival+ so I can fund $2k on it to start with.

Good question! I would say CSR, Freedom, Amex Gold, Target, and Citi Double Cash are the cards I use most often. I carry all of my cards for various Amex/Chase deals and use whatever I am hitting my MSR on when that applies). I feel like I want to simplify, but I keep needing to use everything to maximize the rewards and deals.

I did this one the other week too! I’m slightly concerned I have bitten off too much because I also did the Cap One Spark (spend 50,000 get 200,000 points) for myself and then went ahead and applied for DH for that one a couple of weeks later because we seemed to be sort of getting through the spend on mine somewhat decently.

Then, while both of us had all three pulled for the Cap One I figured I might as well go for the IHG for DH and then this UA one for me on the same day as Spark since we were both 4/24 with nothing else Chase that we wanted.

And then on top of that I decided the other day that I needed a Citi AA when I was booking our Australia trip and realized we could use more miles because I decided to add in a detour to “the outback” which required extra flights.

So, at least 112,000 MSR over the next three to six months (in a totally irresponsible churning move, I don’t even know the MSR for the IHG or AA because I figured how much of a difference could it really make at this point??!!) At least it’s six months though for most of it! And we do have a business, although it will still be a stretch to make those spends without paying extra Plastique fees that I like to avoid at all costs. I figure worst case I will bail on the extra UA points and stop at the 2000 MSR if necessary.

I hear you on the FOMO from this thread...that will be the hardest part!!

It will slow us down on apps/enquires which is good, but also is going to make it hard to max quarterly bonus categories on other cards, so I totally see the point that was made as a reason not to do the UA one! (Not to mention that it will add a bit of stress til I get them all met!)

Wowza to that MSR!! Good luck! Keep us posted on the progress. Hopefully with a business it might be easy to knock some of the lower ones off with few spends. My car insurance will knock off the initial spend on mine with one transaction and if I get it in time I may use to pay DD20 tuition even with a fee. We don't owe much for her, so will that will actually be less than the car insurance but will help.

Not boring! I actually think this is more realistic. I was looking over Lucky's credit card/spend list over at OMAAT and he actively uses like 24 cards or something. I have that many ACCOUNTS. But to charge on them all the time... that thought gives me chest pains.

We have 18 and probably at least 15 have charges each month. It is getting to be too much at the end of the month when I go in and pay them all off. I'd like to narrow it down, but the amex/chase offers keep sucking me in.

DDs worked with just the initial CC funding as the $2000 DD. YMMV We used the Chase Hyatt card for it.

Everything, that's why I got a 36 card wallet :rotfl:

Like @disneymagicgirl it's those dang offers... It's like every time some random thing pops up, I don't have the AMEX card I want.

This is my issue right now. I have too many that I use often for deals. Many are small amounts, but they still require maintenance.

I don't have anything when I select the card. I only have offers when I scroll down the main page past all my accounts.

I'm enjoying the few days we have of free center ice. Why they started it on Christmas Eve and do it through NYE I don't know since teams are dark for at least 2-3 of those days. Glad to watch the Sharks again instead of just waiting for them to be on NBCSN. The one thing I miss about having comcast for our cable is having CBC. Even if I didn't watch the games I'd still try and catch coaches corner or the pre or post game stuff. To answer the question everyone I'm sure is wondering, yes the Seattle area cable has a Canadian station and if you go up to Vancouver you will most likely get our Seattle stations at your hotel at least abc, nbc and cbs. I don't know if other markets have the cross over or not but I grew up watching shows on CBC back when stations had better kids programming including the original degrassi.
CBC is definitely part of TV packages in Detroit! It may even be considered a 'local' channel. Grew up with my grandpa watching Don Cherry

- I'll be keeping my CFU in my wallet for 1.5x on any random purchases.
- CF will definitely be in my wallet for Q1 with gas.
- I keep CIC in DH's wallet for all of his spending since he's mostly purchasing gas and food. I'll put a "Gas" sticker on a spare CF for him to use in Q1 though.
- We have a new CSP in the mail so I'm hoping to knock out the MSR on that quickly. I have a $500 insurance bill to pay and then might pay a portion of our WDW trip to knock it out.
- If I decide to pay off my student loan during tax season, I might take out a Citi AA Biz for DH to do that.

That reminds me, I need to give one of mine to DH and plead with him to use it for gas. He fills up multiple times a week for work. I hardly ever get gas.
