I love credit cards so much!

Yes, you dd can transfer her UR's between all household accounts (assuming she is still living at home), and then you can redeem her points through the UR portal using your CSR.

My dd is older getting on pointe...she danced when she was little and then we took a break from age 7-11...back to dance but more jazz and theater dance until age 13. Now, it been 3 years of classical ballet training and she is finally ready. I have a feeling she will wear through her shoes sooner since she is older. If you know of an online resource we can order from, once we get established with her fit, please let me know! I am floored at the cost of these shoes :scared:

Thanks. Mine transferred from gymnastics to ballet, so she had more strength than most and ended up en pointe pretty quickly. It doesn't matter much when, but I was thinking that size and weight can make a difference with the shoes, so that at 16 she would have gone through them quicker. IIRC there was a catalog/online company called Discount Dance, and a few others whose names I can't recall. Once you know the right brand, right shoe style name, and correct size it was a much better deal. We just never got to that point since she was still growing. Oh, and sewing the elastics and ribbons on was a pain. I did the first couple of pairs but then DD learned to do it on her own. Her shoes, plus the elastic and ribbons, were over $100 a pair, so I was thankful she didn't go through them too quickly. Some of the girls would wear them out on the sidewalk, etc. and I made sure she didn't do that with hers. They vary in price from brand to brand, but we didn't have much choice since it was so hard to fit her.

Wow I thought CA would be more than MD. We are paying 2.26 a gallon. Just took the family to kings dominion and gas is 1.85 there. Would love to see gas drop below 2.00 and stay for awhile. Def could use some savings right now.
Oh it is! In CA I’m at $2.80. And that’s at Costco. Literally can’t comprehend gas being under $2/gallon...

i have a feeling dd will be a hard fit also. I have a narrow foot and so does she. She does know how to sew. She will be sewing her own ribbons and elastics though the store we are buying from will sew your first pair for 'free'. I've bought dancewear from Discount Dance so good to know they sell pointe shoes as well!

The very annoyed and unhelpful lady I got using the # on the back of my CSR confirmed that is the number for the fraud dept and she does see an app in. They didn't get the address right either, transposed road and south and put washington, WA as the city and state which obviously isn't correct. Have to wait til Monday to call. At least everything is frozen now. Guess they didn't do a hard pull since I didn't get any alerts for that. Blah merry christmas.
Ouch! ID theft attempt it was. But like a super incompetent one considering the address screw up? Hopefully they stay that way!

Don’t forget to freeze your ChexSystems to prevent the opening of some bank accounts in your name. They don’t all run Chex but a good number of them do.

Oh, that's nice that they will do the first pair for her. DD's teachers kept telling the girls that part of being a dancer is learning how to sew your own shoes. Of course there were still Moms who did the sewing, but it was a great opportunity for them to learn to do things for themselves. :) I don't have narrow feet, but DD does. I hope your DD's fitting goes well and they find a pair that work for her.

I signed several family members up for AA accounts in hopes of getting mailers to use for AA points. I haven't gotten any mailers yet, but I did get an email with a 9 digit code with an offer for 40k points for $2k spend, and an adt'l 1k points for 6k spend. It says it's nontransferable, is it really though? Is this different from the actual mailer? Probably won't use it even if I could because I'm under 5/24, but It's probably a good sign that I got this, right?

So for those of you who saw Mary Poppins Returns, I’m curious as to whether you’ve read the books. I promise I’m not trying to be that judgy person that’s saying “read the books,” because I read several of the books last year, and, uh... Mary Poppins isn’t exactly a nice lady lol. I could understand why PL Travers was mad at what Walt Disney did with her stories, even though I think Disney vastly improved the character of Mary Poppins from a cold, narcissistic woman to someone who’s fun. My impression was that the new movie more closely follows the books, which is why I haven’t been interested in seeing it.

Thanks for all the CF and CFU advice!

So it's either $200 or 20K URs? That's good. She thinks she wants the points because she will be traveling more in the future. DD has been an AU on our Chase Disney Visa for at least 4 years and has been an AU on our Plat since she was 15 or 16. That was her first card LOL. I'm glad your DD could get the CFU - I think mine will try to get one sometime during winter break. She wants to build up her credit.

The CFU bonus (and regular spend) is paid out in UR points. If you read the fine print of the offer details it should say that the $200 is in the form of UR points that can be redeemed for cash worth $200. It's a crazy marketing thing that confuses people. Probably on purpose so they cash out instead of thinking "hey, why don't I transfer this to my CSR to redeem instead and get more value?" But all Chase's own cards (Sapphires/Freedoms/Inks) pay out in URs.

Right, I'm hesitant to post too much since I don't want to spoil but I agree...much could have been left out and much needed to be added. I'm guessing you are like me though. Picky when you mess with my classics ;)

I did not see the live action Jungle Book and I don't have a huge interest in the live action Lion King.

Good to know. I get aggravated enough watching the tv adaptation of Outlander. Same thing, much to be added and much that could have been left out.

I definitely will be watching the live action Lion King. The movie holds a special place in my heart since it was what DH and I saw on our first date. Yeah, it's been Disney for us from the very beginning. *wonders if @Lain is adding this to the spreadsheet*

And this is why I am trying to be careful what i post!! I do not want to spoil it for any of you. Lin Manuel is awesome! I loved him!!

YAY! Glad to hear it.

Thanks for all the CF and CFU advice!

So my DD could transfer her point to DH's CSR and he could book stuff for her? This would be a pain in the long run, but she's not going to pay for (or likely even be able to get one if she wanted one) a CSR in the next year or two.

Yes, she can. But keep in mind Chase only allows ONE person to be the household member. Also, he can book for her through the UR portal but in order to transfer UR points to her loyalty programs she would need to a an AU on his CSR Hope this helps.

I could use some words of wisdom as I'm sure I'm overthinking this. I have a trip planned for runDisney in April, my first official cc points/rewards trip. We were going to fly down on Friday, but have decided to make use of an expiring IHG free night and go on Thursday instead. The flight was booked with RRs. The only snag is the flight on Thursday costs more points and I don't have enough. I could wait and hope that the cost goes down. I could transfer URs and just get the tickets now. Or I could pay for one ticket with my non-fee Arrival card and redeem the miles I have sitting there (I have enough) and buy the other ticket with RRs. Is there any downside to paying for one ticket with my Arrival card? What would you do?

I’d probably transfer URs to book the flight with RR points my reasoning is if the flight goes down the points go back into your account vs paying cash you have to use the credit 12 month from your booking date

I’ve not read the books but dd18 has them all so I’ve been told by her how Mary is in the books. Yeah, not real nice. She definitely comes across as narcissistic in this movie though I could see that in her in the original as well, it does seem to be more prominent this time. Maybe I’ll read the books just to compare. Been wanting to do that for awhile anyways!

Now I want to read the books. I know I'm in the minority but I despise musicals and live/animated movies so MP was likely my least favorite Disney movie ever :duck:. Literary Mary Poppins sounds kind of interesting and not so sweet (and hopefully no dancing penguins:crazy2:).

But keep in mind Chase only allows ONE person to be the household member.

That is very helpful to know! I only use URs now to transfer to United/Hyatt/other travel partners so the portal is no good to me. It's enough for me to keep my CSP and DH's CSR and transfer his to my account for now.

I just asked Dh and he said you have to ask for the credit for late packages. They’ve given it to us for all of them so far. We order everything with prime so it’s on amazon if it doesn’t come on time
up until a few months ago you could chat and get a free month of prime added....but since they're expanding and more stuff is late, they stopped that, and now offer $5 credit if you chat with them about it.

Well, I will never learn with these survey sites! This morning I looked at an Amtrak one. It said 50 points for 12 minutes. That computes to about 1.50 for my time and I'm just having coffee and reading the boards.

So I begin and it then says 30 points for 20 minutes. Bait and switch.

After answering a bunch of questions about my appliances, what I have and when I bought them....it says, thank you we have enough you get 5 points!

At least 20 minutes of my time for 5 points! I checked - I did get my 5 points! Or about 15 cents!

I guess if I were short a few points for a redemption this would be one way to get a very few points.

I'm trying. I had to pay for everything very early on and we've never had any grandparent/parent help for anything. While I do not mind helping my kids, I do expect they 'own' their activities and work to cover part of the cost. I know that isn't popular on this board based on a thread I posted before lol :)
I'm on your side with this kind of stuff:thumbsup2
