I love credit cards so much!

No. I have stayed at The Marriott World Center which is in the same immediate area, same access road, but not any of their vacation clubs. The World Center has a very nice pool area (which may be available to the timeshare units) and it used to have an excellent sunday brunch. I do think that location is excellent for WDW access. I would stay there again.

Thanks...yes in my research the timeshares can use all the World Center pools and other amenities....

Thanks for the info....if there was something I really needed I’d venture out....Thursday it rained pretty much all day so we did visited the WDW resorts that offer valet parking ..and took full advantage.....looked at Christmas decorations, had lunch and shopped, since the APs we have started the black out dates 12/20.

Have you ever stayed at any of the Marriott Vacation Clubs ?.....we were looking at Royal Palms for March since it’s closer to Disney that the Grand Vista our friends recommended...
I’ve stayed at Royal Palms. It was perfectly fine but to me Disney is “On property” so my assessment is clouded by the off property aspect of that trip haha.

if you've never been to Hawaii, visit Maui. Truly magical!

Sorry for TPG link but this is a pretty good article on getting to paradise with points.
https://thepointsguy.com/guide/points-and-miles-to-hawaii/

I've flown to Hawaii in coach, business and lie flat first. I'll be honest, nothing made the time go by faster. I still couldn't sleep in lie flat but I did drink more than normal, lol.

If you can get coach plus and sit in the front row it isn't bad and will save lots of miles.

I've long considered an Alaska card just for the sole purpose of Hawaii because of the companion fare.
Thank you for this! How would I find out what kind of seats business would have to Hawaii, such a lie flat? This board has given me serious goals for lie flat sometime in my life! An 8 hr flight to Hawaii seems like a reasonable distance to try it LOL I read a couple articles about new Boeing 777 and configurations they fly to Hawaii out of DFW. DFW looks to be our best bet to fly out of currently.

Well, I know how we will be meeting some MSR's. My dd16 is being put on pointe shoes for ballet. She is thrilled and so was I until I found out the cost of the shoes. I called today to make her fitting appt. They said $200 for the first pair and other moms of ballerinas are telling me the shoes last 6-8 weeks :crazy2:
Pointe is pretty crazy. My sister did that for a few years.

The movie holds a special place in my heart since it was what DH and I saw on our first date. Yeah, it's been Disney for us from the very beginning. *wonders if @Lain is adding this to the spreadsheet*
:rotfl:
On our first date, DH and I went to see Beauty and the Beast when it was rereleased in 3D. I still have the glasses :D

Definitely agree...our first choice is staying on property and when my kids were young like yours are it’s so convenient .
unfortunately we are low on DVC points and have to conserve them for a 12/19 family trip.
So since it’s DH and I on these next few trips to visit our son...and Mickey Mouse of course...we have been venturing off property...for the two of us nice and the 2 bedroom villas off property are I hate to say it..nicer than most DVC 2 bedrooms
Friends who own Marriot timeshare recommended Grand Vista, but after visiting Sea World yesterday and seeing how long it would take to get from MGV to Disney I want someplace closer.
We are lucky to have Disney APs so don’t have to pay for parking when staying off site.

up until a few months ago you could chat and get a free month of prime added....but since they're expanding and more stuff is late, they stopped that, and now offer $5 credit if you chat with them about it.
We don’t pay for prime anyway so I’m glad we get the $5 credit. Dh is listed under his dad’s account as a child so we get prime for free

I'm trying. I had to pay for everything very early on and we've never had any grandparent/parent help for anything. While I do not mind helping my kids, I do expect they 'own' their activities and work to cover part of the cost. I know that isn't popular on this board based on a thread I posted before lol :)
I think that is a great way to treat it. DH and his brothers did gymnastics and part of the deal was they did a full clean of the gym once a week which then came off their tuition. My sister danced for years, and by the time she hit high school she was in probably 6 classes a week... then she'd get picked for special traveling groups, or extra performances for the recital (she'd be in 10 numbers!). She started assisting in high school, and eventually got to teach the 3/4 year olds for a couple years. The studio owners deal was that she would either pay $x amount per class you assisted with or taught, OR you got free tuition on one of your own classes which is what my mom made her do. She was so upset with that because she just wanted the money to spend on whatever. She had zero appreciation on the $$$ my mom shelled out for tuition, shoes, clothes, costumes, photos... in addition to the money for show choir, club soccer, all car costs, phone, uggs boots, basically anything she wanted all of the time :sad2:

Honestly, I got what I wanted too, I just asked for less, had less activities, didnt care about fancy brands, and appreciated it more in general.

Totally forgot our WDW APs expire 4 days before we arrive in February. Driving ourselves crazy trying to figure out why we couldn't book FP+s. Had to call DVC today to get the Gold Pass renewal price. Wasn't planning on getting them this early, but they were going to be necessary soon anyway. Helps MSR on that Aspire I just got, at least.

P2 decided she "needed" to go to Saks 5th Ave next month to get all new makeup. We have a $50 GC from one card right now, and will have 4 Plats (2 Schwab + 2 Vanilla each) with $50 credit each January 1, so that should get her a bit. Back to NYC we go, using our 35k Marriott free night at the Residence Inn Central Park! Very excited to check this one out. If I'm not mistaken, P2 will still be Platinum Elite, so fingers crossed for a nice upgrade.

Older DD went to Mazza Galerie last Saturday to get her $50 gift card (or buy cosmetics) not really sure which she did. I was invited along as that morning was also a 'get pictures with Santa' outing. I declined due to not feeling up to the crowds so her husband had to go. She had given me a choice of the Saks at Tysons or Mazza - I chose Mazza because we did Tyson's last year and it was okay, not crowded in the morning, but a less than stellar Santa. Next year I'll be there for sure as both girls should be okay with santa by then. The pics this year were nice, but Dad had to hold both girls.

Isn't that the Residence Inn that is above the Fairfield? I have the Fairfield on my radar as I don't like high rises. I can do maybe 25 floors but after that I can feel the sway (whether its real or not) and I'm not comfortable. I usually call and request lower floor when we are in NYC or even Boston.

wait....what? you can do that? do you have to have same address to do it?

Nope we don’t have the same address. I’m not really sure how it works because I’m not the one listed. All I know is his account is somehow hooked up to his dad’s account that has prime shipping

How long has he been on his dad's prime? They changed it a few years ago to household but if it was already set up you could keep people outside your household. I used to be on my friends but once I wanted to use the video portion I had to get my own and it only let me add my mom since we're in the same house.

It's on top of the Courtyard Central Park, but otherwise I think you're thinking of the same place yes. The only one of those two that will have a real lower floor is the Courtyard. The RI starts on the 35th floor and goes up from there.

Jumping on the bandwagon, our first movie was the rerelease of the Little Mermaid. It wasn't officially a date at the time, but since we haven't been apart since we count it. At our wedding I walked down the aisle to Kiss the Girl :p

Popping in again after another hiatus to ask for some guidance. Just realized my CIP is about a year old, so I'm assuming an annual fee of $95 will be hitting any day now. I got it for the sign-up bonus (used it already), don't currently use the card. I also have CSR and CSP (and DH has CSR too), so I'm thinking I should cancel or downgrade CIP? What does everyone usually do after a year with it? Not sure if there is anything else I need to consider. Thanks!
