IDK if it's just my computer or everyone but my Dis site was down all weekend (when I checked it) and now I can't use the search feature....is this happening to anyone else? I'm searching for (I think) it was @SouthFayetteFan explanation of why ALL spend for the SW CP should be in 2019, not starting now and finishing in 2019....b/c of the bonus amounts....(?) but as I said.....any help please? my search feature is kaput.... I've got Dh's new biz card here but I had planned on rereading that great post again....

Any spend in 2018 will not count towards the 110,000 points you need for the CP pass since they all need to be acquired in the same calendar year

Grrr... I guess hadn’t activated Chase’s 4th quarter...will the spend I have put not count?

Applied for the CIU yesterday and was approved today. Was not expecting it to be that fast. Yay, less time spent obsessively checking, lol. SM'd for expedited delivery and got a response an hour later. Thinking about doing PNC for part of the MSR (any issues with that?).

Met the MSR on CIP yesterday, now just to wait for it to post and for the statement to close in a couple weeks.

We have an upcoming trip to Universal Hollywood and Legoland. For dining in the parks, should I use my CSR and hope it codes as dining or use Citi Premier for 2x entertainment?

Actually, not all of your spend need be in 2019 to count toward the CP for 2019. As long as you haven't passed your MSR date, any spend you make after your December 2018 statement closes, will count for the needed points to obtain CP in 2019 because they won't credit until your January 2019 statement closes. For example, if your statement close date happens to be December 5, 2018 (or you strategically changed it to around that date like many do), then you would be able to spend from that date forward and have it count toward your 2019 CP since those points (along with your bonus points once you hit the threshold) won't credit until your January 5, 2019 statement closes. That really would give you a good chunk of December purchases to use toward your 2019 CP.

While that usually works...there were reports last December of Chase awarding the bonus RR early the end of December when people were close to meeting or met the MSR instead of after the early January statement closing....so this is why most here caution people to be careful and there is a whole Reddit thread about the CP as well

It's retroactive. As long as you activate it before next quarter sign up (Dec 14 is the cutoff for this quarter), all purchases from the start count. (you could probably get it activated after that by calling in but that's the last day to do it through the site)

The very few reports on this were due to Chase not backing refunds out of the MSR calculation. A few posters caused quite a bit of misinformation about the process last year. Caution is always good, but as long as you don't hit the MSR (accounting for refunds) before your December statement closes, then the process is the same as it has been for years.

A favorite restaurant is doing a $10 bonus card for every $50 in gift cards you buy, as many do this time of year. I'm more interested this year because it's
  • On the RR dining network for 3pts/$
  • On Dosh for 6% back
  • And the kicker: terms say the bonus cards, which are good from Jan 2nd to Feb 28th... Multiple cards may be used per check
Really, when is that ever allowed with those bonus cards??

Annual fee posted for my CIP. I called and asked for any retention offers but none were available to me. I’m still keeping the card though. I make a decent amount MSing with it every month. I’ll also probably downgrade SO’s CSR and CSP to freedoms so it will be good to have this for travel partners. Also, tried for the Southwest Biz this am. 30 day message still.

I wonder if anyone here doesn't have that one? We got ours when staying at the Poly years and years ago, hoping for some decent Discounts. I just want to add that there are some small discounts on DCL (photos and gift shop purchases) if you use this card. Other than that kind of spend, our Disney cards live a quiet life. I have a feeling that Disney may get wise to this and promote a better card some day, but then I have friends who use it for everything even with the tiny returns...

heh, now my question is... who doesnt have a CIP... :P

Mine says Cythia not Cynthia so a quick glance might not catch it, but I wouldn’t chance it either
I know airlines require u to rebook your ticket if your name is incorrect. a friend of mine who used to work for an asian airline says ppl get so mad at her when that happens... its just a simple name change... but its something to do with policy.

I have used my CSR many times at Uni Orlando and have always received 3x on our dining at quick service and restaurants. I’ve also used it at Hersheypark and have received 3x here on our quick service. Haven’t been to Legoland to know what would happen but I would hope it would be similar to Hersheypark and Uni.

I don't have the Disney card, but do have the CIP. Because I'm not getting out of bed (so to speak) unless the sign-up bonus is worth >=$500.

I appreciate the sentiment but sometimes a quick 40% cash discount ain't bad either :) (referral offer of $200 stmt credit on $500 in spend)
We'll be churning hubby's at some point to get that. Can't seem to pull the trigger on mine for sentimental reasons - I've had it for over a decade. His is newer and he doesn't care

You just made me check out Dosh and I see one of the restaurants we frequent on Dosh that’s also on RR dining. Do I need to activate an offer like RMN?
