I got one the $200/10k offer on one of my Hh cards!:cool1: any DP's yet if this will work on a gc purchase? I swear I've been trying to spend down my vgc's this month but Amex is killing me with great offers I can't refuse! (also got the Sams Clubx2 among other good ones)

My dd spent 5 1/2 months in England. For the phone, she got a SIM card in England and bought a UK plan for the time she was there. It was soooooooooooo much cheaper than our phone plans back here LOL. For the length of time she was there, the Verizon international plan would not have been at all cost effective, and neither was using wi-fi only. She did quite a bit of travelling and used her phone a lot for directions etc.
For money, she had an ATM/Debit card (wth is the difference???) from her Cap One 360 account. They didn't charge any extra fees for foreign ATMs. Worked out great. As far as the panic, well, not much I can say there. Most of the time I was pretty ok. Once her phone died when I knew she was alone in London after dark, so I freaked a little, till she got back to her hostel and messaged me. The town she lived in was not a huge city like London, so I wasn't too worried there. She did travel alone a few times, Ireland, other parts of the UK, Berlin, but I managed to not really panic for some reason. It was such an amazing experience for her, and she learned so much about being independent, it was wonderful.

On another note, my first Chase BIZ card, my SW Visa, went to approved status this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now if only I could find a way to get a 50k offer on the regular SW cards!!!!
The SW will sit dormant until the end of the year, while I meet the MSR on DH Hilton Biz that's on it's way (oddly, I have an AMEX envelope that looks like a card in informed delivery today in my name (the name I put on the BIZ AU cards only) but no envelope in his name).
Congrats on the approval party:are you near any of the airports that have the SW booths offering the 50k

Our airport is about an hour away, and I have no way of knowing if they would have the booths or not. The terminal SW flies out of it is really small, I don't know that I have ever seen kiosks there, and if they did, they would be after security. I could book on points, one way, go through security, then cancel LOL? Do you have to apply at the kiosk itself, or do they have flyers with codes on them?

Congrats on the SW Biz!!

The AmEx AU card this is a semi known quirk. I still don't know how they could possibly do this, but when we needed hubby's Hilton Biz for his trip, one the reps he called actually suggested he make me an AU on the card and most likely my card would arrive before his (plus he thought he could expedite it). I thought it sounded so dopey at the time but I've read several reports of AU cards showing up before the actual user's card does. Has something to do with where they are produced or something. Like an AU card is just a card in an envelope but the user's card comes with the welcome packet and whatnot. It's all silly. But at least one of you can start spending now :)

Thank you, none of those are near me LOL.
I am guessing the chances of Chase upping the personal cards from 40k is pretty darn slim these days, for this very reason?

If I didn't already have my cobalt blue one (Christmas present from my parents, 1991!), I'd be buying the red one!
I would be really tempted by a blue one. Blue is my favorite color :)
The old ones are much better. The new ones are just not the same quality. Especially if you tax the motor (whole wheat bagel dough is hard on it apparently!).
This is why I have such faith in my KA hand mixer even though it's been stored for a few years. It's late 90s/early 00s and has survived several storage periods just fine so far, and it is a beast. MILs is just not the same... maybe I'll get mine out of storage before all of the holiday cooking and baking comes up.

@disneymagicgirl Thanks!

Wow..... FYI on the new Chase portal for different browsers...... just wow.
I usually use Chrome (stupid chrome) I had booked a car rental a ways back before the change- and the other day found a MUCH better deal(still can't figure out why it was up there but I grabbed it) anyway- I go to look at my trips page,(to cancel the old one) and the usual warning about old trips not showing anymore pops up, but I look and see a LONG list of stuff previously.... I don't think much about it until this new res. (since the change) and I realized today I can't see my new res at ALL on my page, and there's no Trip ID like there used to be! but I CAN see my older booking. so I call in and the rep has no idea what's up,except she CANT see my old booking, just the new one! WTH?
So I log out, go into my chase page on FIREFOX (my backup browser where most things work) and lo and behold there's the new portal! No old bookings show,(incl. my prev. car booking) but the new one is sitting there! (ugh) so after a million screen shots etc I go BACK to Chrome dig out the older booking and cancel.... now I think I'm going to clear my chrome cache out since it was obviously just showing me old useless nonsense..... (my points came back properly that's all I cared about) and my new rental was a weirdly cheap 225.00 (UR points used) for a weeks minivan! dropped from over $300 for a compact!) Just wanted to let ya'll know incase you can't locate something there....

Quick uber question. Using it at wdw, have a gc but it charged my cc. I didn't have this prob in SF, am missing something?

Glad you got it sorted out. I just can't bring myself to deal with it. The reports seem like everyone is told something different. What did you end up with and what did you originally buy?

I purchased originally a cat 1-5 knowing I would later pay 90k to upgrade for our Hawaii stay we had booked. Merger happened and the hotel actually lowered a category which was going to lower my upgrade miles needed to 60k. When I called in (US line this time thank goodness) and told the rep "The hotel changed categories and I need to upgrade my certificate" mostly trying to give him a good reason to allow me to upgrade (since they weren't supposedly allowing upgrades) he tells me "You booked before the merger and shouldn't have to pay to upgrade when we changed the category during the merger. Let me fix it." and he went in and upgraded and attached my original 1-5! I don't think he realized the hotel dropped a category and I was planning on upgrading anyway :rolleyes1

Got my new Aviator Biz card in the mail & activated it. Then told DW she’ll be getting one too in a few days, lol.

I still have about $400 to spend to max out the 10% back at Staples on my SPG Biz, and I can’t decide how to use it up. (I had it on both my card and my DW’s employee card.) I was thinking Airbnb cards to use towards lodging for London next summer, but we haven’t fully nailed down those plans yet and I’d hate to spend the money then not be able to use them. Maybe I’ll just split it between Amazon & Target, we are always buying stuff from both of those places so the cards wouldn’t go to waste.

I also have the 10% back at Lowes but haven’t even touched it. The only Lowe’s near me isn’t really convenient so I haven’t made it there to see what they have. First world problems, I know.

Ugh, I am in the same boat! And I did a run to Staples (about 30 minutes away) and did 4x 200$ VGC cards...only to realize the offer was on my DH's employee card and not mine :sad2:. We got it twice, one on my SPG Biz and one on his. I didn't realize when I used my employee card to his account it wouldn't trigger the offer. Oops. I am half thinking about doing 1k in Disney on my card today and then ordering 3x 300$ online with his since there is no chance of getting him to do a 1k giftcard purchase.

Just tried to transfer points from my CIP to CSR and got this message "This card is not eligible to receive points from you at this time.". :badpc:

Anyone run into this before?

Is there anything I need to do before I reload my Starbucks card from Chase Pay as far as adding things to my Chase/Starbucks account? I was going to do the $25 Chase Pay from CFU on the Starbucks app for the 125 stars plus 1500 URs.

ETA: Disregard. Didn't realize 1500 URs was only for Sapphire products. I'll go with Freedom for 5x UR.

Omg I found the reddit churning google doc template and I’m in love. I’m putting all my info that’s currently in my ugly excel sheet and putting it into this google doc.
is there a link?

I’ve read about this happening when one of the cards has already had URs transferred into it or from it.....the work around is to transfer the points from one card to another until they wind up in your CSR....for example...I have my P2s CIP points...transferred to my CIP....then my CIP points transferred to the CSR....

Are either of those cards linked on another UR? That happens sometimes, with an equally vague error message I can't recall.

Yes, I transferred points from DH's regular CS to my CSR before. Just removed the linked card. Found something online that says I might have to wait 24 hours. Also something about having to create a transfer chain to avoid this. That sounds like such a pain! I wonder if I can always just remove the linked card instead.
