I love credit cards so much!

One of us will use the CSR to get GE and for the other we will just pay for it. It’s another thing to go towards my Hilton MSR anyway.

You mentioned the *A lounge is good so I put a note on my google doc about it. Is it easy to find in the airport? I don’t drink alcohol so maybe a cold glass of milk instead lol

yeah, u just take the elevators up and its just around the corner... they do have milk if i recall correctly. its also one of the few lounges where its not packed... every lounge have gone to so far is always packed...
literally seats everywhere! if ur a plane nut(like me) they have a outdoor area to watch planes take off.

Had an anxiety induced bout of insomnia last night so I decided to pull the trigger on P2 CIC app. We both had instant approvals on the CIP, so it threw me a little when I got the message that said they needed extra time to review - even though I know that's normal! LOL! I called this morning and got the 2 week message so I'm taking that as a good sign.

To be honest, P2 probably should have gotten a CF or CFU or even the Dis Visa. His score is around 720 and the only revolving credit reporting on his CBR is a $300 store card. He has tons of business credit but obviously that doesn't report. I think a personal card with a decent limit would boost his score. I decided to go ahead with the CIC though because he's in actual need of another card for his business. We will make good use out of the 2x points on gas as well as the office supply store 5x on the CIC. I'm thinking I will wait until December or January and have P2 apply for a personal card.

No direct deposit requirement - you just had to make 10 transactions with the debit card they send you and maintain a $250 balance every day to avoid fees (I dipped below this threshold for like two days and was charged $10, so that was annoying). I think I signed up for it in mid-July? Met the requirements the day I got the card and had to wait a month or two to get the bonus. They're notorious for dragging their feet, apparently. I should be able to withdraw the money and close the account at Christmas. You can check it out at Doctor of Credit's page for Best Bank Account Bonuses.
I got the word on the bonus through DoC but I signed up under a new offer that requires DD. I deposited Paypal money and still have to do the debit transactions. I guess I don't want to assume the Paypal works and I get to December (or whenever the deposit and transactions are required) and not get the bonus because the Paypal didn't count.

All those with multiple Chase Biz cards, do you report a high revenue? I did $1000 for CIP but wondering why they would give me another if I report the same? Or am I thinking too logically?

Went to buy MOs today at Giant and the person in front of me was buying Visa Gift Cards for the gas points. I was like OMG another churner but then he paid with the Citi double cash. I guess that’s not that bad of a choice... maybe he is a light churner.

To be honest I find myself reaching for my Citi Double Cash quite often lol. I definitely think I qualify as a light churner though.

Apparently thinking too logically :p

I've asked the same here and in the scary board (aka r/churning) and there's many reports of getting multiple with low biz rev like that. That's about all I'm comfortable reporting as well but there's proof right here as well as out there of Chase not really caring as long as you have room in your credit limits - just like personal cards. Still seems weird but I'm just gonna go with it :)

Now that I think about it i don’t even know what I’m going to put my non category spend on... it used to be the SPG Biz that lasted a few months before it was devalued then I was thinking the Freedom Unlimited but that’s basically killed now too for me if I’m going to cash out the Citi double cash is looking pretty good lol

ETA: my problem is solved my Amex Blue Buisness should be arriving soon. Every non category spend will be going on that. 2xMR is pretty good.

Citi Thank you premier....worth an app today before 60k bonus goes away? I'm unfamiliar with the program but looking to diversify a bit. Maxed on Chase, have 6-7 Amex (some AU,may get another) thinking of what's up next. I Like flexibility of use...hows this stack up? ETA it's either this or the Barclays card.... I've been tossing those two around in my head lately....but Citi goes away today so I'm thinking ...maybe?

Anyone remember me posting about mysteriously getting Gold status with AA which I have never even flown on? Well I figured it out!
I just logged into my account, and found several flights taken that are not mine.
Last year, I got some flight status update emails, and of course I had no flights. I called AA and they couldn't really figure out why someone elses flight was tied to my AA number, they thought maybe they had the same name. They said they would look into it, but my account was fine, don't worry about.
Turns out this same person (I assume) took a few more flights that were all credited to me. And has another booked in December. (scary for them, since I can cancel that flight with a click of a button).
Thoughts on how to deal with this, do I call them again? No one has used any of my points. But it seems the expiration date of my actual points that I earned with credit card bonuses are obviously not in line with the current expiration date.

Just catching up. @Albort posted exactly what I was thinking and this is the route I'd go for travel to Madrid. The flight appears to be $1246 RT in economy and $3499 in business on Iberia. This would be a case where it is better to use the UR for award tickets than to purchase with points.

It's more than just pre-check. It's a Fastpass through customs when you return home. Having seen the horrendous lines I did not have to stand in, I would never be without it. Instead of a line, you go to one of the GE kiosks which I've never seen with a line. I don't believe I've ever spent longer than 2 or 3 minutes to get through customs since having GE. I've seen customs lines that were easily over an hour long wait more often than not. GE also gets you TSA pre-check more often than not when you add your known traveler number to your flight reservation so it saves you time and hassle on the front end too.
This might be a stupid question but what’s a traveler number?

My wife's business has only $1.5k revenue. She's been approved for the CIP and CIU. She's never been denied for having insufficient business revenue. Chase could deny you if they've extended the maximum amount of credit relative to your business revenue. So keep your overall credit lines with Chase in check. For businesses with low revenue, the maximum amount of credit that Chase will offer you also seems tied to your personal (or household) income. However, if your total CLs with Chase are around or over 50% of reported income, Chase is not going to give you more credit based on your personal income either.

So, leaving the US at an airport, you go through security. Different airports have different "fastpass" options-CLEAR, TSA pre check, and sometimes for Business/First. When you arrive in an international country, you'll go through immigration (their's). If you are business/first you might get a "fastpass" there (usually prior to disembarking the plane the flight attendant will hand you a piece of paper which says something like priority). Having waited in line at NRT for two hours at immigration-this will be worth it.

Once you leave for the US, again, security may or might not have a "fastpass" for screening/security if you're business/first/elite. Then, upon arrival in the US is when the Global precheck is helpful. There are usually 3 lanes at immigration (big picture, I know those with visas fall in somewhere) : US passport holders/non US passport holders/Global Entry. The GE line is the shortest, and there are kiosks where you scan your passport, your fingerprints, answer some questions, a truly horrible photo is taken and a slip of paper shoots out that you take to the immigration official. It definitely speeds the process...to the point that we don't wait in line for immigration but half the plane catches up for us as we're reclaiming luggage .

TL;DR TSA precheck gets you through US screening more quickly, Global Entry through immigration Stateside more quickly. Biz/first may or may not have additional front of the line privileges depending on the airport.
Thank you, this makes a lot more sense. We will get GE for sure and it seems like our TSA pre-check depends if it comes with our business tickets or not. Is that right? How will we know? Will there just be a sign or something listing which business/first get precheck?

Make sure to apply well before your trip. You have to apply online & pay the fee, wait for conditional approval, then schedule an interview at one of these locations: https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/schedulerui/schedule-interview/location?lang=en&vo=true

When you first schedule your interview, there might not be any slots left for months. However, if you keep checking back, you can very likely move it up. Each person needs their own appointment slot.

Some locations take walk-ins. Some don't. Some take walk-ins sometimes. I think it's better to have an appointment. It would be annoying to go far out of your way hoping for a walk-in appointment & end up wasting your time.

After you have GE, you can just renew online without needing another in-person appointment, unless your name changes or something to that effect.
Wait I’m a little confused. We have to go to one of those places to get an interview for GE? The only ones showing up when I click your link are Texas, california, and Arizona.

Tagging @Calfan, @Albort, @Lain, @calypso726, @gottalovepluto (sorry if I left any Int'l flight experts out)...

Can you guys give @DrFacilier some advice on how to start to figure out these flights... :)

I know the airline transfer partners are:
  • United MileagePlus Miles
  • Southwest Rapid Rewards
  • JetBlue TrueBlue
  • British Airway Avios
  • Air France Flying Blue
  • Singapore KrisFlyer
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
  • Iberia Plus
  • Aer Lingus AerClub
BUT as you might imagine...I don't know anything about any of these other than Southwest, HAHAHA!
Yes, you’ll definitely want to give yourself enough time to book the flights. In an ideal world, you would want the points about a year before you plan to fly. We weren’t able to get the city we wanted to fly out of (Chicago) because we had to accumulate points so we are flying out of LA instead and have to get a flight to and from there. We joined the game under a year before our trip. We were still able to get business class seats for free though so I can’t complain at all!

ETA: I wanted to add that we booked with Virgin Atlantic on an ANA flight. It was a lot of hoops to jump through but Virgin had such a good mileage amount compared to United. We ended up only using 180k for round trip for 2 to Japan in business class. With United it would’ve been at least 300k.
Yeah. I think things are far from ideal for us right now as far as having enough points to book the flights soon. We may end up paying cash for the flights and use points for lodging?

Okay thank you! Dh just got his priority pass in the mail this week. We will definitely take advantage of the lounge.

you won’t get precheck out of LAX. 1) ANA isn’t an airline that participates in it. 2) no tsa pre at the international terminal.

now ur flight to lax and from lax to home may come with precheck.
