I love credit cards so much!

I have new Wells Fargo offers. 40% off at CVS up to $25 back. 40% off at Kohl's up to $30 back. 40% off at JoAnn's up to $20 back. At least with CVS I can get Disney gift cards.
I recently got an offer that suntrust has these offers too and allows them on debit cards. This reminds me to look into it. I only have a suntrust checking b/c of a recent bonus. Our main checking is wells fargo, but it didn't look like I can get the offers on debit for them.

I would not do biz green. The 1 purchase is tempting but if you don’t keep spending on it you could get that Amex popup in the future that you aren’t eligible (since you’re a “bad customer”).

I’d probably go BB+ since it has no annual fee, and can be a forever keeper to keep your MRs active. It also earns 2x MRs so you could put some continual spend on it to keep AMEX happy. Then you could see if you can get a 75k BGR in the future (or you could self refer but they would be less points).

Thanks...agree don’t want to get the pop up...even though at this point I’m not sure if we’d keep acquiring MRs...and there seems to be no definite data on how much spend they want on a card

Was just browsing the Amex referrals and noticed the EDP 20k/$1k + $95 AF. That seems... not bad when you include a 15k self-referral? The EDP is one of only two MR cards I haven't gotten yet this year. Been holding out to see a 30k or 35k offer either public or incognito because I know they exist, but that's the only one I've never seen. 20k + 15k is equivalent to the 35k.

Hmm.
Sounds like a good deal to me. Which card gives 15k referral points?

For the West Coasters: We are thinking about driving the Pacific Coast next June, is it better to start in Seattle and go south or better to start in CA and go north to Seattle? And just to do stops along the way. Trying to decide on San Francisco or Los Angeles as start or stop. Definitely want to take DS to visit Stanford since there is currently where he wants to go to college (he is currently a 7th grader so we have time :) ) We found be flying and renting a car since we are on the East Coast. Thinking 7-10 days. Any thoughts?
i'm in oregon and have done the coast in segments. washington coast was hard to see or get to. just driving will not give you a taste of ocean. the roads are not close enough to the beach to see it. you will need to have destinations to experience washingon beaches. however, california and oregon are both great in spots but do have pieces that go inland for a while. there is lots to do and see along the way.

has anyone here taken advantage of the Amex Schwab Platinum appreciation bonus?

The bonus states Receive a $100 Card statement credit if your qualifying Schwab holdings are equal to or greater than $250,000 or receive a $200 Card statement credit if your qualifying Schwab holdings are equal to or greater than $1,000,000, when measured following Card account approval and annually thereafter.

I’m just starting this FIRE journey and was going to open a taxable brokerage account with Vanguard and a IRA with them too but does it make sense to keep this Platinum card and open one with Schwab instead? I don’t have that high of a balance yet tho and will take SO and I some time. It seems like the index fund fees are lower with vanguard. Anyone have any input Schwab vs Vanguard for brokerage accounts and IRA accounts?

Still no dice on Universal tickets through Chase. I just got off the phone with them again and escalated to a supervisor. They said they'll report that you're unable to purchase them, but other than that there's nothing to do. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

Sorry if this has been covered, life = crazy, but just in case it hasn't:

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/free...can-express-cardholders-new-enrollments-only/

I'm enrolled already with national. I clicked the link the person posted in the comments, went to enroll and then clicked sign in. I was instantly upgraded to Executive Elite. I don't even have an Amex card on file with National right now. A fam member did the same in their National account, instantly upgraded as well.

TBH I don't see this sticking around and I really think they might try to unwind it once National figures out they're handing out their top tear status to anyone who clicks on the link and signs in. I don't think I have anything to lose if they unwind it. If you want to try do it NOW.

ETA: I just threw an Amex card on my profile just in case that helps me keep the status when they realize this, prob won't though...

Oh gosh, I have been gone for about a week because my life got CRAZY. But I still had one child ticket to order and finally got the points, so I went to do it a couple of weeks ago and I wasn't able to order one child (you could not select anything lower than 1 adult, so I would have also had to get an adult ticket. So weird.) So I kept meaning to call (see CRAZY life above) and see if I could do it over the phone.

Today, I FINALLY logged in to see if it would work before I called and couldn't find them at all. The lady I talked to was absolutely no help at all. I was just coming here to see if there was some news about this or if anyone had ideas. Sounds like I am not the only one? DANGIT!!!!

Anything else I need to now? Would it help talking to the cruise dept? Something? I am so sad and we leave in one week so I need to get a ticket like, right now.
