I love credit cards so much!

I just received my CIC today and wanted to thank everyone on this forum who has helped me through this process. The card shows my name twice. Is that normal? Should I call Chase and request a new card with just my name once? TIA

It's normal because the top line is your name, the bottom line is your business name. Because your business name = your name on the application, you name appears twice. Don't worry about it. Not one cashier is going to care.

That's normal. It's your name + your "business" name. Cashiers don't bat an eye, even when I use DH's biz cards that I am an 'employee' on.

Glad you watched it and a little sad you didn’t love it. Different strokes as they say. But answer me this, did you get how the lyrics of a few of the songs could have been written about churning and travel hacking? If so, there shall be no shunning LOL - JK, I am not the shunning sort.

Missed that. The balance on the dvd was awful had to turn the volume way up to hear dialogue and then the music was too loud and even turned down over powered the lyrics. I did like the one song they kept singing with themselves and the kids but too much all sounded the same.

i will back off...
please dont shun me...

:P

These are my people here :grouphug:.

I was tempted to put my crazy travel package upgrade experience on /churning or the Flyertalk forum because I do feel like I gleaned a lot of useful info from there in preparation of actually doing it but I get so sad at down votes and crabby comments that I decided I am good with just sharing it here. Mean people make me sad--even the trolls and crazies. Not to mention I feel like my Marriott pixie dust was more or less the agents misunderstanding of the situation so I doubt it is repeatable.

reddit's /r/churning has a success story post( i think on sundays). Thats where u should post your upgrade experience.
One thing ive learned about reddit is to ignore the downvote. there will always be downvotes.

The double name is b/c your business name is your name.

I thought there was a limit of 10 offers per month?
I thought there was a limit of 10 offers per month also but I didn’t know that until I was at 12. :confused3 All were approved. Now that I know, I will not be doing it again. And who knows they may clawback later.

I finally watched The Greatest Showman tonight and I didn't like it. :duck::duck::duck::duck: I was excited about a movie for PT Barnum but being a musical it really wasn't. And the musical all sounded the same and similar to Moana which I kept expecting to hear. Partway through the movie I looked up books on him and reserved one with the library. I think it's also partly because I wanted to know more and didn't need the random songs thrown in even though they fit in better and made sense with the story than most musicals.

This isn't because I don't like musicals either, I could sing a long to most of Grease, Meet Me in St. Louis, Bye Bye Birdie, LA LA Land and Rent. I've seen Rocky Horror as a stage production, much better than the movie too.

Anyway back to your regularly scheduled churning conversation :) With a plug to use your local library not just for books but for dvds, cds, digital magazines and ebooks ::yes:: :coffee:
My heart is shattered! Well, it's okay. You redeemed yourself with your love for Zac Efron :cloud9:

Getting my head back in the game...

I have about $2.5K on my Amex MSR done & already thinking about what I should do next... :rotfl:

Goal is RT J airfare from JFK/LGA/EWR (I think - I doubt it will be directly from Tokyo & the JP-US flights are generally covered already) to/from Budapest/Prague. It depends on which way the 2020 ABD Oktoberfest Danube Cruise goes. So, maybe it's more like four one-way tickets for two people.

It looks like United is our best bet. I do not fly United! Like, ever! So I have 0 points to start with :(

I have the Amex Plat approved in 8/2018. I need Chase MR cards to do this, I think.

Should I start with CIP in about a month, then add CSR a few months later, and... what else? I will probably only keep the Amex Plat for one year.

I thought they limited by not allowing you to link it again...and if it links I should be fine

Finished up my RMN offers today. Spent $350 and (as long as everything posts) I'll have spent $220 out of pocket. I also got 5x back at Walgreens on $75 of that, $5 cash back on BoA card from Staples, and the rest went towards meeting the MSR on my SPG biz.

Excluding any points earned from my SPG biz (wouldn't even know how to begin the valuation on that), I had a savings rate of 39.6% :) All of this will go towards the September 2019 trip.

Just curious: Is anyone still using Plastiq at all after the loss of 3x? I was crunching numbers trying to find a way to make it work. Best I can come up with is the Arrival+ but even then at 2 years it looks like it will only net me $309 after factoring in the AF & Plastiq's fees. I don't think $150 a year is worth a 5/24 slot.

I am not sure either but I have had 12 pay this month and have 4 pending payment. And I’ll be going to Macy’s shortly. Isn’t there also a rule about using the same offer only 3 times? My Staples just reset so I wonder if I should try for a 4th time with it???

And good thing I double checked DH’s account since I forgot to link the Macy’s offer.

I think the limit of 10 is for online offers. At least that's what is in the faq's of the help section on their site. The in-store offers says 30, but that page was not updated in September like the online offers one. So, either they just didn't update their site, or the limit is 30.
