I love credit cards so much!

I am not sure either but I have had 12 pay this month and have 4 pending payment. And I’ll be going to Macy’s shortly. Isn’t there also a rule about using the same offer only 3 times? My Staples just reset so I wonder if I should try for a 4th time with it???

And good thing I double checked DH’s account since I forgot to link the Macy’s offer.
The limit is 3 times in 30 days for the same offer.

Just curious: Is anyone still using Plastiq at all after the loss of 5x? I was crunching numbers trying to find a way to make it work. Best I can come up with is the Arrival+ but even then at 2 years it looks like it will only net me $309 after factoring in the AF & Plastiq's fees. I don't think $150 a year is worth a 5/24 slot.
I used it earlier this month with the Masterpass promo. Otherwise, unless I needed to use it for a MSR, I don’t think it would be worth it.

I just received my CIC today and wanted to thank everyone on this forum who has helped me through this process. The card shows my name twice. Is that normal? Should I call Chase and request a new card with just my name once? TIA
I know this was answered but just had to chime in...

How could you forget the name of your wildly successful business ;) :rotfl2:

Goal is RT J airfare from JFK/LGA/EWR (I think - I doubt it will be directly from Tokyo & the JP-US flights are generally covered already) to/from Budapest/Prague. It depends on which way the 2020 ABD Oktoberfest Danube Cruise goes. So, maybe it's more like four one-way tickets for two people.

It looks like United is our best bet. I do not fly United! Like, ever! So I have 0 points to start with :(

United is good and if you are okay with PHL they have 2019 (so hopefully 2020) direct flights to both PRG/BUD on AA. We're doing that this June...I spent ALL my AA miles but think it will be worth it. I'll also be flying Austrian Air from KRK to ORD (OS is one of the *Alliance members that flies from PRG/BUD to NYC areas with a stopover) in July so next summer I'll have opinions on those options. My advice is to start collecting both United or AA and/or URs and remember MRs can also be transferred to Flying Blue/DL which can get you from PRG/BUD to NY area as well).

I have a Gap Visa card, I've had it forever and I mainly just use it when shopping at Gap or Old Navy. Last month I got an offer for a $50 reward for spending $500 outside of Gap brands. That was easy to do when buying school clothes for my kids. I just got an offer for 10 points per dollar on groceries from now until Nov. 30. I prefer travel rewards but the thought of 10% back on buying groceries is pretty appealing even if it is just for rewards to use at Gap. I spend about $120 a week on groceries so that would be $12 a week towards clothes. I'm thinking I could use the rewards to buy Christmas gifts. Usually I use my CFU on groceries but that is only a 1.5% return. Does that sound crazy?

I'm itching to get DH a new card since we aren't working on a MSR. My next two cards on the list for him are the CIC and the Barclay Arrival Plus. DH is at 2/24 with these applications in the last year

SPG 4/2018
CIP 5/2018
Venture 7/2018

Which would you do first? CIC or the Arrival Plus?

ETA: He already has a Sapphire so we are staying away from those

We decided to go with the Barclay card first since the AF is currently waived for the first year. We definitely want to use that travel credit to offset our train tickets in Europe next summer. He got instant approval so now I need to plot out our $5000 MSR in the next 90 days... Hopefully Christmas shopping will help!

Sometime early next year we can have him do the CIC and then figure out which Chase cards we should do for his last 2 spots.

download the RMN app on your phone, theres a bunch of $10 off $25 purchases. It excluded GCs but for the past month or so, its been working with GCs... YMMV though.
i think a ton of ppl here are using it to buy Disney GCs and other GCs for their future uses.

Thank you! This is great! I see a special for staples. Should I limit how many gift cards I buy? Does Chase care if you get 5% back on multiple gift cards?

Just used it some this month with the Masterpass promo. It coincided nicely with our IHG Premier MSR. I’ll be on the lookout for more promos though! Won’t likely use Plastiq otherwise. Most MSR’s we can hit organically, and not planning to sign up for more than that anyway.

I should know this but for some reason I momentarily forgot while gazing upon my meager offer:rotfl2: I'm still thinking its a good deal for me bc I'm already doing some extra spend for the extra points, it's just 1k more and IF my plan to book and then cancel (room) for like a year from now to get that TC NOW will work..... or is that too nefarious? It's the only plan I can come up with currently
You had the 15k upgrade offer for SPG Lux? The problem is Amex bonuses are once in a lifetime. So you are taking a 15k upgrade bonus when you could apply and get 100k. And once you do, you’re not eligible for the 100k.

The RMN offers are generally $10 off a $20 or $25 purchase. So you can buy a $25 gift card or a $50 one, you still get $10 off. The terms says gift cards are excluded but many of us have gotten the $ back anyway.

Tried to post this earlier but my phone was going nutso.

When you get a flu shot at CVS, you get a $5 off $25 coupon. Can't use for giftcards but you can stack with their in store offers and RMN if you're looking to buy actual products. If you get a shot at CVS in Target, you get a Target coupon.

I got my shot (and my arm hurts still) and just did another Disney gift card. I will save my coupons (DH got his shot too) for Black Friday deals on things like detergent, candy and wrapping paper. The coupon expires 12/31.

Congratulations!

Have you used Plastiq before? They are doing a targeted promo to use it and get a 4% return. Even if you have used it should work if you could sign up through their system and start a new account. I got the Arrival a couple weeks ago for the mortgage. 3 months and just that meets the spend which is nice. If you shop at Costco you can also use the MasterCard to buy Costco gift cards to use in store. That also would help with the spend.

My heart is shattered! Well, it's okay. You redeemed yourself with your love for Zac Efron :cloud9:

Getting my head back in the game...

High School Musical reference?

I wasn't crazy about the Greatest Showman either. (Just saw it recently because we get most of our movies from the library on DVD)

I finally watched The Greatest Showman tonight and I didn't like it. :duck::duck::duck::duck: I was excited about a movie for PT Barnum but being a musical it really wasn't. And the musical all sounded the same and similar to Moana which I kept expecting to hear. Partway through the movie I looked up books on him and reserved one with the library. I think it's also partly because I wanted to know more and didn't need the random songs thrown in even though they fit in better and made sense with the story than most musicals.

This isn't because I don't like musicals either, I could sing a long to most of Grease, Meet Me in St. Louis, Bye Bye Birdie, LA LA Land and Rent. I've seen Rocky Horror as a stage production, much better than the movie too.

Anyway back to your regularly scheduled churning conversation :) With a plug to use your local library not just for books but for dvds, cds, digital magazines and ebooks ::yes:: :coffee:
Same. My girls love it. I was underwhelmed. Great music though. Story itself just meh.

The higher amount u buy, the lower ur discount will be. Best to buy $25 per trip.

Chase doesn't care.

I understand about the $10 off if you spend $20 or more, and that you won’t save much with multiple purchases, but...the RMN for staples expires today anyway. I receive 5% back from Chase at Staples with my CIC, but I didn’t know if there was a limit for the % back for gift cards?

That's what I do too and why I just saw it. I was actually surprised when I got the email the other day because I wasn't expecting it for another month or two based on my queue position.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, was just the only one that wanted to be the first to admit it in a Showman loving place :)
