I love credit cards so much!

What do I need to do to have DH's URs transferred to my account? It would be from his CSP to mine.

And - if I transfer them to me I will be able to transfer them back if needed as long as that rule does no change?

When you login to his account and go to Ultimate Rewards, on the top left, you’ll be able to click to get a list of options. Towards the bottom, you’ll see Combine Points. Just walk through those screen to transfer his points to you. It should be easy and the points move immediately.

Yes, you can transfer them back, if needed.

Thank you. With all these changes I think I want all our URs in one place.

Yep, that’s what I do every month when my DH’s URs post to his CIC and Freedom. I immediately move them to my CSR.plus I like seeing that nice balance grow even more :)

I do the same thing..easier to keep track of with them all in one place

Yes. I do that with my CSP and CF every month. DH's CSP is new. The goal is to transfer these points to United sometime in the next 2 years - saving them for a trip to Europe. We both have United accounts but right now he is the only one with the United CC. I plan to get it too so I would rather have the URs all in one place.

If it doesn’t take directly from your DH to your CSP, you may have to daisy chain it to your Freedom. Meaning DH cSP to your F to your CSP. I have no problem transferring directly from DH’s CIC and F to my CSR but others have gotten an error. So then you just work around it by daisy chaining the accounts with the extra hop.

You can also SM and they do it for you.

I have not purchased trip insurance for a WDW trip but I always get it for any overseas trip (mostly for medical evacuation costs). I always go through the website insure my trip (one word but apparently it's not allowed here because it turns to asterisks). There are lots of options and lots of variables -- some policies only cover death or serious illness for travel partners, some for immediate family.

I did this for our upcoming cruise. Didn't think about med evac and got a policy that covers up to $1mil. I never get for domestic trips.

Done

I have a very good memory and downvote trolls on site.

What you lack in memory you make up for in spreadsheets

I see everyone was up late into the night. Just caught up and went through and upvoted/downvoted in Reddit accordingly! I went through Chase last night and consolidated all my URs onto DH’s CIP. Once my CIC URs post (if they ever), I’ll have $3800. So the start of a good trip, but not exactly where I was planning to be. I had forgotten that there were Universal tickets available to book. If things don’t improve by the end of October, I’m thinking maybe I’ll redeem some of my URs for our universal tickets and then I can put what I was going to spend on them towards Disney GCs.

Now I’m wondering if I should go buy $300 worth of Disney GCs at BBY tomorrow since DH still has the deal on his delta gold card.

I still have it on two cards. I was more intent on finishing my spend for Lux. But, is this one of the offers where Amex collected back some funds? One of my offers is the authorized user card so I think that's okay. I will probably go today and buy the $600 in gift cards so it will be another 10% off my future 2019 DVC dues.

So, it's ok for Chase to say we can use points on our CF for Disney but not through the CSR...? If that is the case, I'm so gonna be cutting Chase from my life. That completely ticks me off

I understand being disappointed and annoyed. But - UR's are still usable at 1.5 redemption on other hotels (I think - correct me if I'm wrong) such as Swan/dolphin?

This is a move on situation but move on in a positive way. There have been many times where S/D were the cheapest hotels at Disney depending on season. And if the room rate is hovering around $200, I'm not using 50K points for it. I'd use my UR's and my CSR (that I don't have yet but will be getting.)

I don't know what is on the CSR portal so I'm not talking from experience, so to me, unless they completely devalue everything to 1%, I'd be hanging onto a CSR if it worked with my plans to save me the extra $55 or in my case it's got to save $150 and then some. All my other cards that I pay a fee on pay their way in some fashion to fit into the total picture. The 4 year plan just means I have more time before I want a CSR. Even if they devalue the card and bonus. But, I will be getting a CIP as soon as my next window opens in mid 2019. It's definitely a personal decision but it looks to me as if keeping a CSR is a good move for you.

I think they were collecting funds back from anyone who used the offer multiple times on the same account. I’ve used the offer on my account and now this one is on DH’s :)

Luckily I am not trying to put a Disney trip together at this time, but I am super bummed for all the folks who had planned to use their URs for Disney trips. Hopefully this all settles down and a work around can be found.

As for the value of the Chase bonuses dropping from $6500 to as low as $3100, I'm not one to cry over what I never had. I'm new to the points game, and I missed the boat on some good deals. But a $4,600 discount due to points is still way better than paying full price!!! I really appreciate all the time you knowledgeable folks put in to explaining things to us newbies.

Mrs. Ciz - following your future trip as one of my aspirations is to take an African Safari -- Not just a 2 week KS trip at Disney, lol! Your ideas are solid. Make the most of what you can get - don't waste any energy worrying about what was available in the past. Keep moving towards your goal because I just want to read your trip report!

ACTUALLY - if 5 of us REPORT this comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/c...packages_no_longer_available_through/e61z791/ It will be removed. I reported it for disrespectful behavior.

So this thread can effectually control r/churning and reddit? Use your power wisely, grasshopper! It's trolls who keep the population down.

So sorry to hear about the Chase/Disney separation :( Wow, they really are on a rampage!

For travel insurance, I have an annual multi-trip plan through APRIL: https://us.april-international.com/en/annual-multi-trip-plans

I did have to use it once due to a family emergency & their service was quite good. I think it took 8-9 weeks instead of the 6 weeks they quoted but they approved the claim the first time around instead of going the old "always deny first" route. Paid everything in full.

It appears CIP portal wasn't down to "fix" it as no Disney resorts are showing up still this morning.

Now that I have pondered this overnight I think we will keep DH's CSR but I won't try and stay under 5/24. Maybe DH, but that is just because he is the one with the job and we like to move alot, so mortgages go in his name. More important for him to have a cleaner CR. Since he travels weekly I think the earning for the CSR outweighs the AF, but I will have to focus more on the math now to make sure.
I will also keep our freedoms.
My thought is that with the CSR I am still earning more points using the CSR (3x) and CF (5x) and I will likely use those to transfer to SWA...as Often do now. So cancelling that b/c I think chase is sleazy would shoot myself in the foot. I will, however, shift my noncat spend elsewhere...DH's new plat amex and MSRs?

Checked into the residence inn Anaheim resort/conference center for a DL trip with my middle DS tonight and got my 1st gold upgraded room. Watched the fireworks from our room and I can see the Incredicoaster from my bed! There's apparently a quarterly fire system inspection on Monday which means there will be strobes and announcements on the speaker system all day. We usually come back to the room for an afternoon rest and that doesn't sound super restful. Do you suppose I should be asking for some sort of compensation? Feeling happy about our upgraded room and slightly frustrated about Monday's inspection.
Yes should ask what the hotel is doing to compensate guests. While the inspections are required the cost is Marriott’s not yours. If they don’t want to throw guests points for the inconvenience they could have disclosed it to you before charging you full price. Nice upgrade! (Don’t feel guilty about asking for compensation despite the upgrade, you were upgraded for your status not as compensation for this issue.)

I think URs still have a lot of value, particularly for flights and hotels that are cheaper at the 1.5x "cash" rate than booking awards with airline miles or hotel points, even if you can't book Disney. I'm going for a "pentafecta" of Chase UR-earning cards: CSR, CF, CIP, CIC, and CIU (or CFU -- but the CIU has a better signup bonus) to cover the entire portfolio of UR spending bonuses. I agree that for spending categories that offer 3x or 5x UR, I'll try to put it on the corresponding Chase card. Everything lower than 3x, I don't hesitate to throw towards a MSR or even Amex nowadays.
