You’re good! They haven’t cracked down on Lowe’s yet. No one knows if they will so double dipping there is your call

I recently received the Chase Ink Cash card (is the acronym CIC?) and I've noticed the transactions don't post as quick as my personal cards do when I look online. This is my first business card.
With personal cards, I can buy something online and it instantly appears in the pending section. Ink is much slower. Is this normal?

Yes it is the CIC. Chase business cards are super slow. Don’t appear. Then appear pending. Then disappear completely. Then posted finally. Really quite annoying. Even when charges posted though it isn’t like the personal cards; you can’t see how many UR’s each transaction received. Only way to see that (least I know of) is the UR portal.

So I know the whole Chase UR delays rage on. I've decided to not participate, lol. I am $35 away from meeting the MSR on our CSP but I am going to leave it sit and redirect all spend to the CSR. I know it doesn't really matter, but I don't want to be stressed out waiting for the bonus to show pending so I'll just meet the MSR in a month or so on the CSP and hope things are all fixed by then, LOL! Ridiculous...illogical...yes...but it will make me happier not worrying about the points, haha!

Now this is coming from a guy who has signed up for 65 credit cards...BUT without a signup bonus, I'm literally not sure what would ever convince me to signup for this card. It has a $495 annual fee and just a $100 airline credit and a TSA Precheck credit. Yes, I agree the redemption rates sound good...but CFU matches the card at 1.5% cash back. AND those points can actually be worth 2.25% paired with a CSR OR 1.88% paired with a CSP or CIP.

I mean realistically...Citi Double Cash is a better card than this...(that hurts to even type, lol!)

@speedyfishy I think they recently changed the dessert party not counting. I think one of your best resources is a FB group, Official Disbrides formerly Disney Brides Diary. There are WDW, DLR, and at home brides. Theres also some vendors that offer special deals. The group can be really helpful with questions and ideas. Sometimes the Disney wedding reps give conflicting info too and the group can help with that sometimes. Girls also post their costs for different stufffrom Disney so you can get a better idea. The only thing I didnt like about the group is there are quite a few drama queens... including the lady that runs the group IMO. A little after our wedding I left because I couldn't take it lol.

Our Dessert Party ended up being through the event group since we didnt do our wedding ceremony through Disney, so we had some different rules. We ended up with a lady that was pretty bad and mysteriously left before our event... that was frustrating. But I really loved the dessert party as the end to our day.

How big of a wedding are you considering? Also you can customize food menus to meet a budget, etc. We did bill on consumption for lunch and dessert party and came out ahead. Soda prices are pretty silly

DP and recap for those taking advantage of the Westin Hawaii offer and looking at over water bungalow stays in the Maldives down the line.

We attended the timeshare presentation today. They went over how the program works and what you can do with the points. The incentives could be transferred into over one million Starriott points. So we are now the proud owners of ... absolutely nothing new. It was interesting and very low pressure. After politely listening and politely going through the motions of going over the numbers we said no thank you and it wasn’t in the budget at this time. They thanked us for our time, bid us adieu and we went on our merry way.

The resort is nice but beware they charge a valet parking fee that i think is $30 per day and there is no self parking option. I believe there might is a resort fee is $31.25 per day. They do spring for the rental car though and DH will be getting 5,000 AA miles. It does take about 10-15 minutes every time you want to get your vehicle and go somewhere. This also means tipping the valet every time too so factor those into the equation.

All in all I think it was a good deal to visit Maui without planning how to do it on points and lower OOP cost than one would anticipate with equivalent accommodations.

Now on to the overwater bungalows. I posted sometime last week or so that we got 2 consecutive nights in OWB at the Conrad Maldives. The first and last night did not have them available so I booked a beach villa for those nights. I have since learned the resort is exempt from offering free complimentary upgrades to Diamond members but there is a paid upgrade option.

I’ve been checking daily to see if an OWB would open up for a standard points booking. Today I got lucky and the first and last nights opened up. I booked those and cancelled the beach villas. Since I have been unsuccessful in getting the Al Maha Desert reservation moved to the correct dates I started working on a plan B. So I added another night at the Maldives in an OWB. I have each night of our stay on a separate reservation for the moment. At this time I don’t know if I will be staying for 4 or 5 nights. This means I may wind up either utilizing 5th night free or a weekend night certificate. So, moral of the story keep checking, what you want to book may open up! With that said, I will keep checking in Al Maha every day but get a plan B for Dubai going. Ugh.

I had the exact same thought. I’ve been very careful lately about where I have DD 16 sit on flights. There is no way I would want to leave DD and DS 14 alone in coach.

FYI - I tweeted a tongue in cheek comment to Southwest today and got confirmation that the (current) correct info is NOVEMBER 15th, 2018 release for flights through JUNE 7th, 2019. They also advised that THIS site: https://www.southwest.com/air/flight-schedules/index.html?clk=GSUBNAV-AIR-SCHEDULES is actually the best place to find this info. I know many of us consult travel tools, but I would stick with the flight schedule link going forward.

They also have still not updated the travel tools so it is still showing the wrong information, lol.

It doesn’t even take that long if you time it right. Walmart doesn’t have any lines right at 8am openings. I’m currently doing two trips a day though and I stop a grocery twice a day too. Lol

I have been hitting the same Stop and Shop a couple times a week. One line for cards and then i go to customer service and "cash out."

I wish I was as brave as ya'll. I so need to fluff up my points balances.

My oldest always had to fly to PHX each summer to visit her dad for a couple weeks. I always said to sit on the aisle, up front, next to a female. This was southwest of course.

I'm also shocked at that one...that release is much more delayed than normal, and even then they are barely getting back up to 6 months of inventory available. Maybe they will further update it and release more flights on that same date...It is something to keep an eye on for sure.

Luxury Card usually has a big billboard advertising their fancy sh*t cards right near SFO heading up 101 towards the city. Gotta hook those gullible prestige seekers with the shiny when they’re weary from traveling and/or stuck in traffic, right?
