I love credit cards so much!

if you cancel swa with a gc payment how do you change or get the $ back? how does that work, like cash,a credit for one year?

I would assume so a credit tied to the person nd confirmation number good for 1 year from date of purchase

@palhockeymomof2 is correct.

I'll add that you can pay with up to three forms of payment per passenger. You could use a 1 SW gc + SW travel funds + credit card, for example.

I know there are dps that the CIP bonus is slow in posting right now. Anyone seen anything about CSR? Trying to be patient...

I read the same as @palhockeymomof2. It appears 'support link' points are posting normally but the regular bonus points are taking longer than usual on all cards.

Chase has Freedom & Freedom for 15 months. The also have a couple business cards, not sure if you’re open to that.
Thanks. I’m not interested in business cards, and I already have both the Freedom (one of my oldest cards), and Freedom Unlimited (the last card I just opened). I didn’t see any other chase cards with rewards that we’d really benefit from yet, but I’m working on it!

Do you have a player 2 who could open up a card as well ?
Nope, just me... thanks for the suggestion though.

I always said I wouldn't do business cards, too, but then that 80,000 CIP bonus was there and I went for it. I charge everything on it that I would on my regular cards, with no issues. Next I'll open a CIC for 50,000 more UR points. If you have any outside income, chances are you have a "business".

If I’m remembering correctly you want to open cards to put your DVC purchase on...and we’re going to apply for one of the Disney Visa cards and another card.
Not sure if things have changed but I had both Chase Disney cards opened last year....maybe apply for both Disney cards..there are referral links for the no fee one

Yeah I mean, if we really want to get down in the weeds on this, we decided to pay for DVC using Amex MR earning cards and going with Schwab cashout to put toward the cost of DVC. So if you really wanted to help with the cost, you could also consider something like the 100k vanilla Platinum (if you can get it, if not, 75k) + 60k Schwab Platinum + 20k Blue for Business Plus + 25K Everyday + 50k Premier Rewards Gold. That right there gives you $5k/$5k/$3k/$2k/$2k = $17k MSR, and DVC will let you split up your payment as much as you want. With sign up bonuses + MSR you'll have 272k MR, at 1.25cpp Schwab cashout, that's $3,400. Not a bad chunk of change. Depending on how much you're buying, you could substitute any of the above with the 100k/$10k Business Platinum, and you'd only be limited by velocity with Amex.

Note this idea isn't for everyone, and probably definitely not if you're under 5/24 a well, but just an option.

I don't remember if this was talked about, but Chase moves around credit lines very easily...just a SM and it is usually done in 12 hours. So if you don't get the credit you need, you can move the credit from your two Freedoms for now and then move it back after your DVC purchase is settled.

For example - If both your Freedoms have a $10k limit (so $20k total) and you get approved for the Disney card with $7.5k, you can move the bulk of the credit from your Freedoms (minimum to keep on them is $500) and move that to Disney so you could have an easy $25k limit. You can't move more credit then what you have available so if your Freedom has a balance of $1k, then you need to leave at least $1k of CL on there.

Slightly :offtopic: - I know what envy feels like now...it's when you find out your high school valedictorian just had an amazing WDW wedding complete with Mickey and Minnie, a Cinderella carriage ride, and a reception at the Grand Floridian! Oh well, at least I got to eat some Eggo Mickey waffles* for breakfast this morning.

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope everyone is having a great time on their points-fueled trips - I'm hoping this time next year I'll be checking into the Hard Rock Hotel and on my way to go ride Revenge of the Mummy!

*And maybe everyone else knew these existed, but I didn't! I found them in the freezer aisle at HEB yesterday. A nice way to get a Disney fix on a rainy holiday weekend :)

We have had them for months...my 2 girls like them...but they are not the same as the real thing. :worship:

Was going to ask the same question. DH finished the CSR and CSP minimum spend last month and is asking me when the points will post.

I think there were posts over on Reddit that all the Chase bonuses are slow to post right now

Thanks for the into. Guess we need to be patient.

Also I'm now noticing Hamilton is sold out a few days in advance at the Kennedy Center. I'm not sure if that's because of the holiday weekend or what, but it looks like I missed my chance to get cheap(er) tickets! Oh well, maybe the lottery will come through (haha).

I am going to hope you find a great deal for tix on the evening 15th, last Saturday of the run. We will be there in nosebleed seats. Oh and I think DH made reservations at Chercher before the show. It will our first experience with Ethiopian cuisine. Gotta watch more you tube videos and practice!

Looks like we just missed you by about 30 minutes. Hope you're enjoying Maui! The weather's been beautiful.

I figured as much! It really has been lovely so far. Haven’t done much yet except eat dinner at Mama’s Fish House last night. It was outstanding! The food, ambiance and service are enough on their own to make me want to come back here. Might do some exploring today.

oh dang, I was rooting for a spontaneous dischurners airport meet up.

Me too! Wasn’t sure if @Lain was still there when we arrived so I made sure to walk with DH next to the windows of the gates on the way to baggage claim. I figured between the ABD trip reports I share on the DIS and the odd picture on this thread, y’all know what we look like. The short red head and Asian dude with long hair couple are pretty easy to spot. Hmmm now wondering if @Lain has a picture of us on his spreadsheet :rotfl:

Love, love, love Chercher. Get the veggie platter and the lamb or beef tibs (or both)! You'll be so stuffed you can't leave.

I have seen pictures of you posted but have you posted DH? I may have just missed it.

My parents own at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas. They LOVE LOVE LOVE it, but it is a pricey timeshare. Lucky for me they bought a second every other year week, so every other year they invite all their children and grandchildren who can want to go. I've been to the Maui Westin timeshare with my little family 3 times and once to the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas on Kauai. You will love it!

DP on using credit card concierge services. Previously I have used Amex Platinum concierge to get us Hamilton tickets at face value and dining reservations at places that are fully booked. Somehow we forgot to book dinner reservations for Mama’s Fish House for this trip and of course they are fully booked for the duration of our stay. I reached out to Amex Platinum concierge and they were unsuccessful in securing reservations for us. DH suggested that I reach out to Chase Visa Infinite concierge and see if they could get them. So, I did just that and they were actually able to get us dinner reservations! Moral of the story, when one of your high AF credit card concierge teams can’t come through, give it a go with a different high AF concierge team.

My parents own 4 weeks per year at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas. They absolutely love it too. And they are there right now with my sister. They left yesterday morning. We join them every other year for spring break. They’d gladly treat us every year, but my DH can tolerate only so much travel with my parents, and I have limited vacation time at work to spread among all of the places we want to go, so we’ve settled on the every other year plan for Maui We will be joining them next this coming March.

@calypso726, so glad you were able to get in to Mama’s and that you enjoyed it. It’s a must do for us every time we are on Maui.

Now I have to confess about my complete travel fail today, and completely on me. I am currently sitting in the PP lounge at SJC awaiting our flight home to Boise. However, we were supposed to be on the the 11am flight from OAK to BOI this morning. Except I had a complete time-change-math brain lapse and was convinced that our flight was at noon, Umm, that would be noon MT, NOT noon PT. Not great to find that out at 10:45am PT when you are about to use the SW kiosk to print your bag tags. Our options were to wait for the 9:30pm flight out of OAK or pay up for a 2:30pm flight out of SJC. Around $750 later including the SW upgrade fee for the SJC flights and getting us from OAK to SJC, I will at least be getting my kids home at a reasonable time to go to school tomorrow. At this point, I can only laugh at myself and be grateful we will be getting home within 3.5 hours of our original arrival time after such a stupid blunder. Pretty sue I won’t be making that mistake again, lol.

Sat down today with YNAB and bills to chance credit card payments around. I think I got everything :surfweb: Surely Directv, Sprint, AT&T, and my home warranty company think I'm insane for adding a new credit card to my account every month, but oh well. I also scheduled several Plastiq payments today for my student loans before the promo ends at the end of this month. After all of those post, I'll be down to $900 left on MSR. Should be able to knock it out fairly easily with just DH using it for organic spend. I took his CIC out of his wallet for the time being. We'll see how long this SPG biz takes me. I'd like to double dip DH around Nov. 1, but I really need to have the SPG completely done before I take that on.
