I turn 25 this year and Dh just recently turned 25 so I’m okay waiting a year or two. I like that we have the time for ourselves right now and can travel or play in a band while we still can. I don’t imagine a pregnant drummer would be a good scene lol. My parents had to adopt and they didn’t get my brother until they were 31 or 32. That actually was better for my family because my dad was further along in his job and my mom got to stay home with us which I loved.

My dh's parents were in a band from high school until my dh was about 12yo. The toured with some other singers in the very early years and then performed on their own in the later years. My MIL got pregnant, unexpectedly, at 20yo and while on the road. A baby definitely changed their career path but they did keep performing and my dh is not only named after a bar they were performing in when he was born but his first babysitters were the bartender and waitresses :) He still turned out ok!

30 minutes on the phone with Marriott so they can tell me nope, we won’t extend your cert which expires at the beginning of March so you can use it at the end of March. Maybe you can call back in February, sometimes we can extend the certificates when they are close to expiring. :scared:
Ugh that stinks That predicament is begging for a HUCA! I'm still holding out a sliver of a hope that they will allow at least one category upgrades on old certificates. This process is making me hate them a little though.

Also, if @Calfan declares you winner of the advanced maternal age award I think I get dibs on the other end of the spectrum. Although I don't think they give out awards for teen pregnancy . Married at 18 and pregnant 3 weeks later:scared1:. Very much an accident but I still think the people I married and made are pretty likeable so it's all good in the end. We are very spoiled in having lots of grandparents available to us to keep the kids for us for a date night or even a few days /week. I think it would have been much harder without that since we didn't get much (any) time on our own before kids.

Haha that’s awesome! I don’t think I’d want to play drums and be pregnant at the same time though

my MIL was the lead singer lol! And she gained 65lbs (!!!) with my dh lol! I hear ya...I wouldn't want to be pregnant and performing on stage either but just sharing how my MIL did it :D

We have minor celebrity going on today :)

The Churning for Disney Megathread was updated and reposted today on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/9bn75x/churning_for_disney_walt_disney_world_megathread/
(not our reddit, public r/churning - or as I like to think of it, the scary one ) I skimmed but most of it seems right, I think the author is still updating so should get cleaned up.

The DISboards got a mention in the Gift Cards section. But I'm confused on the link as it directs to the CC thread here, to an old comment by @amalone1013 !, and not to, ya know, the Gift Card Deals thread where I thought. (@amalone1013 you're on your way to CNBC - first twitter, then reddit, next stop... big leagues ;))

Found @speedyfishy and @DisneyMandC in the comments, threw you some upvotes :thumbsup2 I haven't done my Ctrl+F on the member list yet to find anyone I'm missing... but I would have sworn u/onelove8187 is one of us :) Maybe someone in the Gift Card thread if not on here.

I'm famous? How did that happen????

:smooth:

ETA: i went and looked. What the heck does that comment have to do with anything?
I've told that guy to clean up that link a couple different times, he never seems to fix it though. I think his intention is to point to the Gift Card thread.

I have to tie with you on that one! Had ds20 at 18, went to senior prom 6 months prego  didn't have any more kiddos until I was 31 and 33. I had one starting college and another starting kindergarten a few years ago! I will say I can definitely appreciate it more having the two little ones, realizing how fast they grow up. Kids somehow make you feel old but keep you young at the same time!

We own at the Poly and that was available but looking to branch out and try something different. Seeing the castle across the lagoon would be a tease.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations!
Yes that would be a tease...Love the Poly but haven’t stayed there yet since we book the 2 bedroom SV at BWV which use so little points

Used our points to book my daughter and her husband at the Poly..for their honeymoon..they really enjoyed being on the monorail

SAME - I am truly terrified of clowns (I have a few theories why, from fictional and real experiences), and although I have a goal of staying at each of the resorts once, I think BW might have to be for an adult-only (pool free) weekend for F&W or F&G... I just can't!

I've been a BWV owner since 2000, and I understand that many people have a dislike for the giant clown face.

I rarely even see the clown. I don't ever use that pool and enjoy the quiet pool and community hall area. And, several of my trips we've had access to Stormalong Bay over at BC due to pool rehab and I don't think I've ever bothered. We've used SB when staying at BCV as I'm also an owner there, but mostly the little BCV pool has been fine for me. When daughter was younger you couldn't get her out of the water so I had to spend all my SB pool time with eyes glued on her, because she would be in the whirlpool area and always filled with bigger kids. Yes, a good swimmer but still make me nervous, so if I could get out of going to the pool I did.

This November we will be at BWV for a week of Nov 3-9 I think it is. We start out with one night at the Polynesian because older daughter wants to stay there and I want to do Twilight feast again if they still have it....Ohana dinner served in room.

Anyway I'm sure daughter will take the babies there for the kiddie pool so I'll be watching to see if the clown bothers them!

Does anyone have recent experience with the United and Delta cards? I'm considering getting one to supplement my points, and either airline works for my travel plans. The United card seems to get the better reviews, but Delta has more initial miles. I haven't had an American Express card in a while, so that may work against the Delta card if others have had issues. Thanks in advance!

I have both cards.

Honestly if both airlines work for your travels, I'd go with United. I've found it is much easier to find better/cheaper flights with them. Plus the Explorer comes with primary car rental coverage and you get the $100 global entry credit too and 2 free lounge passes and the bag benefit.

I have the Delta gold and all it is good for is the free bags. Husband has the Delta plat so it comes with a companion fare at least but Delta mileage prices are high and no set award chart. I say all this as a person who collects a lot of Membership Rewards and Delta points. You can transfer Chase ultimate rewards to United too.

Do you have the other chase cards first?

The quiet pool would definitely be the option I'd take! I think us adults are more creeped out than the kiddos, so hopefully the babies won't even bat an eye! :-)

We stayed at Poly for Marathon Weekend 2017, and did the Twilight Feast - definitely one of the highlights of our trip!! I hope you all have a great time!

Thank you!

I currently just have the Capital One Venture Card for airline miles. I should be getting that initial award very soon, and since that happened faster than I planned, I realied I have time to earn some more points on another card before I have to purchase airline tickets in early 2019.

Is the Cap One the only credit card you have period? Put another way, do you know how many credit cards you've applied for in the last 2 years?

I currently have one other card that has no annual fee and earns rewards, but not necessarily travel-related.

I don't travel very often, and when I do it is generally road trips. I wanted some airline miles for some potential upcoming trips and the travel cards seemed like too good a deal to pass up.

Dolphin has full size beds and Swan has queens. We've only stayed Dolphin because it was less points when we booked and we've gotten a king room usually. Swan is smaller from my understanding. Others here have down Swan.

@Alexle2007

I've stayed Swan multiple times in years gone by and I've always preferred it over Dolphin. Probably because the Swan was operated as a Westin and the Dolphin was operated as a Sheraton. Not sure if that's still true. I have stayed at Dolphin when I couldn't get a points room at Swan. The pool area is shared and very nice.

Also, the Dolphin had a renovation at some point and I thought they added queen beds?

I do prefer the Dolphin for food options. More choice plus I like bluezoo. I ate at Garden Grove last November for their seafood feast and I do not recommend. It was priced well and had characters but the food was just lacking in quality prep. Overall it was a good value but not quite what I expect in quality, but I'm kind of that way about most of Disney now, with a few exceptions.

Second Ample Hills loved their ice cream...we own at BWV...love BCV as well...the only problem I had with the pool was keeping track of 2 kids there and you have to walk across the main walkway to go on the slide...if your 1-1 with your child it’s fine....agree it’s a lot bigger than the BW pool

It's something like 2 acres of pool area so yes it is huge.

If your open to paying an annual fee there are a lot of Chase cards that earn Ultimate Rewards UR points that can be transfer to their airline partners or used to book flights through Chase travel
